I really liked this video. We do need to be dedicated to our plants. This Colorado home loves her humidifiers. Not only does it help my plants, but it helps my husband breathe!! :-) Thanks so much Gena.
Super helpful video Gena. I’m really still fairly new to Hoyas but gathering all the knowledge I can to make my small collection grow well. Thanks for sharing your tips & tricks.
I agree with the statement your house has great vibes as I just sold my house I had for two years as it just did not feel good and now I rent this appartment the faces south west, and I absolutely love it and I just knew the one that was mine from outside even though the did not show me this exact one at first I just knew it was mine, I do not ever remember liking a place to live as this one it just feels wonderful. I wish you were my friend you have such wonderful energy about you, have a wonderful evening. Thank you for the fantastic Video!💜💜💜
That’s so wonderful to hear! Finding a home that feels so warm and like a big hug is the best feeling. I’m so glad you found yours ❤️. This home and my childhood home are the only houses that have given me this feeling. And I’ve lived in quite a few houses. Thank you so much for sharing this with me. It has put a big smile on my face 😁. I hope you also have a wonderful evening 💚💚💚.
I love your channel and all your plants and advices. I'm mostly philodendrons collector but I have some Hoyas. I agree with your system of taking care of Hoyas. I listened to some advices before and some of my Hoyas didn't do anything for 2 years. I almost give up on them. Then I started very similar care like yours and I got amazing results. Thank you for sharing and I can't wait for your next video ☺️🌿
Hi Grace! That’s great to hear about your Hoya! I’ve just started adding a few more philodendrons to my collection. They are a lot of fun. I see why they are your favorite to collect 😊. Thanks for watching 💚.
Hi Gena! I wrote you a comment last week but I bet it went onto ehatever video came on next! I do not see it! Oops :)...I need to try foxfarm...I have only heard all great reviews from everyone who uses their products! I am so happy companies are reaching out to you and you are liking their products.....I know you love your plants because they glow with love when I unbox them from your store!! So happy others have found your channel and subscribe....I see your knew Sunday video it out...but I wanted to tell you I did write you but not sure what happened..and that I am so proud of you!! And can't wait for your restock! Love tina
Hi, Tina!!!! I just stumbled across this comment...for some reason UA-cam didn't even notify me. I wonder what is up with that????? Weird quirks I guess. No worries!!!! Thank you for commenting and being here :). Thank you too for being so supportive!!!! I will probably be stocking some new things in a couple of weeks! I just got some heat packs in for winter shipping so I am all prepared :). Love ya my friend!!!!
LOL I also hate to travel. I have not left home over night for 6 years and before that it had been 10 years except for the nights I spent at the hospital with my husband when he was sick. I do not even like to leave to do the necessary grocery shopping. Great information on all of this. I feel I am a dedicated plant mom. I also water weekly but I always use a water meter and give plants water as needed. And not just pour it to them. I als hate airconditioning. I never turned it on this year even though temps were ovee 100 for about a month straight. Good thing here is the temps drom in the evenings so I control my comfort by opening and closing windows morning and night. I am going to try that fertalizer. I have been using fish emulsion for a few years now and my plants do well. sometimes too well. I am forever having to chop them back and hopefully find homes for the cuttings.
We sound a lot alike :). I don't mind getting out to the grocery store, in fact, it's kind of fun for me LOL. And other shopping as well. Love to shop! But going out of town for more than a night is not my favorite thing. I always need a vacation from my vacation LOL. It's work. I hope you find even better results from the Fox Farm fertilizer. I call it liquid gold. I have tried fish emulsion in the past but I still think I get better growth with this Fox Farm Fertilizer.
@@ThePinkTrellis Well if I did not have to drive so far to get to the stores I shop at shopping would be easier. Even the close grocery store is 22 miles each way and the further one with much better prices and no state tax is 45 miles away. and it is mostly highway but it is 2 lane highway. Not a lot of traffic uness you go on a Friday. then watch out for those crazy flatlanders coming up the mountai to go have fun. I am so bad. And yes it is so much work for us. WE need to get everything to gether not only for us but kids and spouses. Animals etc. since I live where people go to to get away I have no need to do so mysef. My dream as a child was to live in the mountains. Well I am taking my tired old 73 YO self off to shower and go to bed. Yes it is early but I have spent two days processing a deer and I am done in.
@@shadesofidaho that is a trek to the store for you!!!! I see why you don’t care for it!!! The mountains are gorgeous. We are on the front range but have beautiful Mountain Views. Driving into the mountains can be stressful for me and most especially on the weekends when there is way more traffic. But it’s so beautiful up there. I’m glad you are living your dream 💚💚💚.
Thank you for this video. Hoyas have become my favorite plants. I have held on to the belief that they do not need nor like to be fertilized but I have read information to the contrary. Thank you for the Fox Farm fertilizer recommendation. A few questions that I hope you can answer: 1. How often do you water your hoyas? I know you have a weekly watering schedule but do you also water your hoyas once per week as well? 2. Do you fertilize year round or only during the growing season? I recently just upgraded my plant lighting and am wondering if I should still fertilize during the winter if I'm seeing new growth in the colder months (I live in the NE). 3. What temperature do you keep your home during the winter? Thank you and have a great day!
Hi, Casandra! Almost all of my Hoya are kept in terracotta and those get watered once a week because they dry out weekly. Some of mine, in ceramic or plastic, can go two weeks. I always use a moisture meter to determine if they are ready for watering. I also look for visual cues (wrinkling leaves) although I feel it's best to water before you know they need water by just looking at them. I think it's too stressful for the plant. So basically, I rely on my moisture meter and also sticking a finger in the soil to see how it feels. As far as fertilizing, I like to give my plants a break during the winter. Currently I am still fertilizing, because they are still growing. I'm still seeing new leaves coming out. Once we get into December, January I'll stop. If I'm STILL seeing new leaves coming out (because I use grow lights), I will probably fertilize once per month. As far as home temps., I'll drop it to 68 for sleeping and then during the day I try to do 72...sometimes I pop it up to 74. I really hate the cold LOL. Thank you and I hope you have a great day too :).
Hi, Patti! You will love their soil. Ocean Forest is my favorite but I’m sure they are all excellent. My plants seem to love it . Thank you for watching 😘.
Thanks for all the tips. I agree about the lighting being so important. Your house has fantastic lighting. I want to try the Fox Farm fertilizer after I use up the ones I have. Love your videos. 💚🌱🌿🪴💚

Thank you!!!! Glad you enjoyed it!!! We had a whole house humidifier installed and it has made a world of difference for us. It’s just so dry here.
@@ThePinkTrellis We have installed too... I always forget about that one!! :-)

Hello. Thank you for tips on getting Hoya’s to grow faster. I will definitely try it. I really enjoy your video’s. thank you

Thank you for all your advice. I have a question about the Mathilde. Is it ok to cut the aerial roots off?
Hi Michele! Yes it’s perfectly fine to do that 😊.
Great 👍🏻. Thank you 😊
Always look forward to your videos. I’ll have to try fox farms soil.
Hi, Patti! You will love their soil. Ocean Forest is my favorite but I’m sure they are all excellent. My plants seem to love it . Thank you for watching 😘.
Can you please make a video how and how often you use the foxfarm fertilizer, please !
Sure! I’ll include that in a video 😊.

Hi, Karen!!! I think that specific fertilizer will make a difference for you. I know it has for me. It’s great stuff. Thank you 💚💚💚.
