    I used to commute to work on a bike. I had the old front clip pedals and would track stand at traffic lights waiting for the light to turn green. 😁

      I still do it on my bike but when I'm driving and there's a cyclist next to me doing it I'm stressing out 😅

    My best track stand was 7 mins 48 secs, on a rocky mountain equipe with the first edition of Rock shock sids, longest 7 mins of my life, sweating after 5 mins in.

      That's amazing, was it just to see how long you could do it for? Or a competition? 🤘

      To see how long I could do it and all the variations of a trackstand to, one footed- 1 handed, no hands - feet on the front wheel, was around 1995/96 when mtb really got going, just before marzorchhi z1 bams dropped on uk shores. Before the gromit invasion haha! 🫡

    Great vid as always! Despite the fact that there are many tutorials on the Internet (and even from your own channel), I would be extremely happy to see a detailed 2024 edition about each of the tricks that you described. especially bunnyhop and wheelie. But! with a greater emphasis on beginners. for example, in my case, I try to devote time to practice, but when doing a wheelie, I fall on my side and I can’t do a bunny hop high or at low speed. I will practice more, but I think a video from you with a tutorial for COMPLETE beginners would be very useful to many and would generate a large number of views! thank you again for your videos and efforts, wonderful channel

    My best trackstand is 13mins and 26 second. Learned it on fixed gear bike and gets better on mountain bike.

    Gotta love this british accent.
    Seriously though, that kind of video really helps me in getting more creative for teaching. With English as a 2nd language it also helps choosing the proper therminology

    One tip I’ve learned to add with leaning the bike (and I saw you guys doing it in the video… not sure if it was a conscious effort or not) while moving your hips to the outside, also pivot them slightly to point to the inside of the turn. It gets your knees ready just in case there’s a little bit of slippage

    Back in the day we had to learn to wheelie on bikes with coaster brakes ( pedal backwards to brake ) so we basically had no brake to cover, all balance. We could go for miles like that.

    You guys make it look so easy. My efforts a bit more....ok SO much more awkward and bad! Fancy a teaching clinic in the States? 😂
    Love the video , thanks gang!!

    I find that leaning the bike is also very useful in flat, high-speed turns when the grip is not the best. Can you illustrate how to navigate this situation when the terrain is loose over hard or just powdery? These conditions give me the creeps.

    In my 30 yrs or riding moto, bmx and all sorts of big bikes I've never attended a clinic or listened to tutorials until mtb youtubers were a thing...
    Now everyone has the same style 😂

    I'd say it's safer/less scary to learn all of these with flat pedals, not just bunny hops! I'm a huge clipless pedal fan but you can bail from flats much faster!

    • @Mtb9r
      @Mtb9r 8 місяців тому +1

      @@gmbn it’s a neutral wow. Balance definitely applies to everyone young or old. being an older rider it has become more of an issue than it used to be. I watched the video and realize wow i haven’t seen that in a while. It’s also interesting that a simple wow got your attention. 😁Happy trails.

    I still love bunny hops the most, if you can whip it out slightly, it's just a bit of fun. I like to call it the whipped bunny. My manuals are getting better, wheelies slowly getting better. It's all fun though.

    I am an old guy… When did they start calling wheelies “manuals”?

    • @elslanedog1264
      @elslanedog1264 8 місяців тому +5

      Wheelie = sat on saddle and pedalling. Manual = off saddle with no pedalling, just pumping.

    I can do all these tricks mentally but not physically.

      If you're uneasy learning tricks get a BMX or a 24" kid bike, it's way less intimidating to practice unknown tricks...

    • @gmbn
      @gmbn  8 місяців тому +1

      The smaller bike might help it be less intimidating but you may pick up habits that don't transfer 😬
