I don't understand why everyone is so stuck on metal locking tabs. If something hit your rifle hard enough to where breaking the tab was a concern wouldn't you rather the magazine break instead of your rifle??? The reason why the baklites had metal locking tab is because baklite is brittle. They switched to it because it was lighter than steel, and then it, the wonderful and powerful baklite, was replaced by stronger polymer magazine.
You make some excellent points. I guess I’m worried that if it’s cheap plastic it will easily break. But the Bulgarian mag does seem to be made of good quality material. My favorite AR mags are Magpul and they’re all plastic. My second favorite is the Lancer mag that does have a metal locking tab.
@@BrowncoatNerd oh wow...I wasn't attacked for having a view different than most. Instead, someone tried to see things from my perspective. Holy shit. Could this be...a friendly person on youtube? I thought your kind was extinct.
Bc plastic locking lugs like the pro mags will break on you in no time. Pmags are decent mags that have plastic lugs, but you want steel locking lugs plain and simple. Personally, steel mags are the only way to go, but polymer mags with steel lugs will last.
Gunmag warehouse has a $14 version with steel feed lips and locking lugs. I only got one to test it out. It fits snug in all of my AK's and feeds perfect.
I'm about to order 10 of those Bulgarian 40 rounders from Gunmagwarehouse. I have zpap, opap, wasr10, norinco. Are they really worth getting even just for range days?
@@franciscoportodo6698 I bought 4 of the 30 rounders...great mags...just ordered 4 more. Steel lugs & feed lips...14.99 gunmagwharehouse..fitsmy wasr10. Riley rak &Arsenal 107r. Worth it.
I'm sure someone here already mentioned this but these come with steel reinforced lips, tab and follower. I have several and they haven't let me down yet.
got the all polymer, I used a dremel to cut the edges of the front lug because it actually would not insert at all, just and FYI its the lug on the front of the mag and just the very edges of it, its a simple mod, do not cut too much off
Bakelite isn’t painted. There are different shades of Bakelite it has to do with what they put in the chemicals or mixture that makes it a different shade. I can’t remember off the top of my head.
Love ISD Bulgaria mags. I have 8 of their 30-round mags with the metal-covered locking tabs and two 40-round ones. Cost just as much as regular Magpul and Tapco AK mags, but better, in my opinion. Added the bolt hold open followers, too. 👍
Jason Schoonmaker while admittedly I haven’t put hundreds of rounds through it I am basing my statements on several videos that have done torture test with this mag. This mag never last long. But with all that being said for the price I paid for it, I very happy with it.
So far they work fine. But I tend to use my 20 and 30 round mags at the range so I haven’t used it much. But I can tell they won’t last as long as my other mags due to the plastic lugs. So basically you get what you pay for.
Pro mag are pure s**t. I had the same smoke color pro mag and the locking lug broke two weeks after getting it. If you’re going to buy polymer mags, make sure they have steel locking lugs. Pmags however will last quite a while. Stay away from pro mag

MeatHook some of us are still around. However there are fewer and fewer of us each year at the reunion.
I understand exactly what you are saying, but even regular steel Ak mags have reinforced lips and it's already steel, quality is everything.

For what it’s worth, I have the steel reinforced version of the Bulgarian 30, and it is tight in my ZPAP.
You just saved me HUNDREDS of dollars! Thank you for this video!
Masmosaic1 Hundreds!? How many mags are you getting!?
They actually are an Arsenal product made at a separate Factory in Bulgaria
Negative ghost rider pretty sure the new ones that are made with metal tabs are still Bulgarian ISD mags too. Almost as good and still Bulgarain

Dont know why they dont make these with the reinforced locking lugs like the new 30rd mags they make, not like they are any different.
Yup they need to make the reinforced new version in 40 round they only have it in 30rd currently

Never knew "bakelite" was painted fiberglass... Omg...
No its AG-4 Phenolic Resin. Different
Real bakelight is the first plastic ever made.

bronzeguy good to know the bolt hold open followers will work in these. I’ve been planning on getting some BHO followers. Thanks!
Sounds like your just speculating what it will do vs any real testing

Sorry I was so harsh take one and video hitting it with a hammer not too hard just a little shock that would be sweet
Why not buy one and conduct your own durability test instead of expecting others to trash their own equipment?
bronzeguy for real bro
Have you tried Korean 40rd steel mags?
Tumdéaux I have not. The only Korean mag I have is a 20 rounder. It works fine in my AMD but my M92 doesn’t like it.
I own 4 of the KCI Brand Korean 40 round steel mags. All 4 magazines feed flawless. Fed in my wasr 10, my zastava zpap, and my Norinco.
only had one jam on my kci 40 rd and I think it was because of the ammo.
How did they shoot or do you just have stuff to look at? Those mags look brand new.
So far they work fine. But I tend to use my 20 and 30 round mags at the range so I haven’t used it much. But I can tell they won’t last as long as my other mags due to the plastic lugs. So basically you get what you pay for.
Will it fit in a mini draco ?
I don’t see why not.
The waffle pattern circle 10 looks awful this looks great.
I paid 19 ea off gunmag im upset they were cheaper but hey cant complain at these itme
Like you said in today’s market it’s not a horrible price. I’ve seen people say they’ve paid 45 for them and that was pre coof.
I purchased this magazine from gun mag Warehouse and the fit in my Zastava USA Zpap M70 is hideous. Total wobble/ loose fitting POS.
Has anyone tried the weapontech bolt hold open followers with these ? do they work?
Moofasa 1211 I have not.......yet.
Yes, Weapontech BHO followers work in them.

These mags are super wobbly on my KR103 🥲
Not wobbly at all on my saiga
