In the history of China, there has been numerous rise and fall of dynasties and emperors. Last year, a documentary series of 12/13 episodes were produced in China's Official TV Station to commemorate some of the dynasties and emperors. This song is one of the 12/13 songs composed for one of the emperors.
In the song, every time when "YOU" is used, it is representing either the Capital Palace or the Emperor Himself. With this in-mind, one should be able to better appreciate the meaning of the lines.

The name of Zhou Shen's fans is "生米”. It sounds like "ShenMi" which means Shen's fan and it can also mean a raw-rice literally.
The term of 生米(ShenMi) based on a Chinese traditional phase of "生米煮成熟饭"-- raw rice become cooked rice, (English translation is difficult here). It broadly represents "ready to become your loved one". Therefore, "生米”(ShenMi) basically means an individual who loves Zhou Shen. I wish I have got it correctly.
