Iron Maiden? Oh heck yeah. That deserves a bit more than just a normal thank you. You have ascended to God tier status with this band. Thank you for this reaction 👍
Kudos to whomever mixed the audio on this, and thank you for not burying the bass in the mix. If I had a dollar for every time Steve Harris kicked my ass while learning Iron Maiden songs on bass, I'd be a very rich man.
I always watch reactions to this song because it is epic. Ive seen a couple of dozen reactions. Only 1 time, it was a 13 year old reactor, he stopped the video and said "listen to that bass, that dude is killing it." He is right, Harris kills his bass every time.
Guns and Roses were Iron Maidens support band back in the day when they were starting off. Axl at the time made some comments about Maidens style that he didn't like. Maiden were and always have been a massive band and Guns and Roses benefitted from their tour I believe. Bruce is still going strong vocally and Axl not so much now.
Axl's live vocals were hit or miss 30 years ago. Bruce doesn't have the superhuman sustain he had back in 1982 but he still sings the songs well on tour now.
The song title is Hallowed Be Thy Name. Most Maiden fans would probably say is the best version of the song on UA-cam. Bruce on vocals, Steve on bass, Dave and Adrian on guitar and Clive on Drums. Sorry but I put Bruce Dickinson above Axl Rose as a vocalist. This is probably Iron Maiden's most popular song and one that I've seen the most reacted to on You Tube. The next Maiden songs to check out - Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Live Flight 666) and Fear of the Dark (Rock in Rio 2001) Onto Queensryche - Take Hold of the Flame and Black Sabbath Children Of The Sea (Dio) Other great live performances to check out - Alter Bridge - Blackbird Live at Amsterdam and Frank Marino Somethings Comin' Our Way Live at the Agora Theatre and Helloween - How Many Tears (Live in Wacken 2018)
I don't know what gave me goose bumps at the beginning, the music or your reaction to the music! I've heard this song so many times and it never gets old. You had a great reaction, and I always have to smile when I find someone who can listen to this for the first time. I loved that you could just close your eyes during the reaction and just feel the music. Nice work!!
They were my favorite band as a teenager and this was one of my favorite songs by them. I'll never forget the first time I heard it. I had just bought the cassette tape off a friend for $5 and was listening to it on my Walkman with headphones on the bus on the way home from school. It had been raining. The song sounded so intense to me as a 14 year old and when the guitar solos came in I was amazed! I had never heard something quite like that. I just kept rewinding it and listened to it more after the bus dropped us off and I walked the rest of the way to my house. I'm 52 now and I still haven't forgotten how it made me feel.
Great reaction. Gotta love iron maiden. There is alot of material from these guys. Piece of mind, number of the beast, and poweslave are perfection from beginning to end
Glad you're discovering Maiden. They are one of the greatest. By the way, a little bit of trivia. Did you know that Bruce Dickinson (singer for Maiden) is a huge Deep Purple fan, and has performed with them on occasion?
How cool was that, they were damn good on the first 2 albums but once they got Adrian Smith on 2nd lead guitar and Bruce Dickinson on vocals they exploded, what you just saw is a rocket taking off from a launching pad, they have been cruising the galaxy ever since. Pick pretty much anything in their catalog and it is worth a listen, enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
Thanks for posting! Was looking forward to this one. :) As for the next Maiden Live performance to look at, Check out "Dance of Death" En Vivo! Perfect combination of a beautiful melodic intro that leads to an absolute banger with 3 face melting guitar solos. This is one of the best live Maiden performances. Bruce's storytelling in this one is like no other. Bruce Dickinson at his best in my opinion. Edit: This one is a long one as well but I promise you will be locked in for the whole song. :) "Fear of the Dark" Rock in Rio is another live that is a must.
@@andreymichell4000 I just watched that version again and the videography is awesome. I have to admit I liked it better. I just like Bruce’s performance and the guitar solos in the en vivo version better, though. Both awesome performances, no doubt!
@@James_Russell I agree with you friend, I like the Death on The Road version better because I think the performance is similar to the studio album, but of course with all the elements of a live show
This one rates as my fourth best live presentation. It is a slightly dark musical narrative but the arrangements and vocals are spot on especially the intro. Its interesting and rare when there is a musical shine like this one too. Great stuff Rebeka.
Bruce dickinson is on a whole level higher then axl rose. In the beginning of the song he holds that note for so long. He is incredible. Rob halford and ronnie james dio are the 2 that are in the same league as bruce
Bruce Dickinson (vocals) of Iron Maiden is a quintessential heavy metal singer, who was nicknamed 'Air Raid Siren' for his high vocal range... He just replaced Maiden's first singer Paul Di'Anno in 1981 and this was his first record (Maiden's 3rd - 'The number of the beast' in 1982) ... The concert was filmed in Hammersmith Odeon in London in 1982 on the tour for 'The number of the beast' (which charted at #1 in the UK and went platinum in the USA). Steve Harris (bass) wrote the song from the viewpoint of a convict before his execution... Maiden was sued in 2018 for plagiarism of the lyrics, and the band settled out of court, and has performed this song routinely in their setlist since 1982. The guitars of Dave Murray and Adrian Smith are truly remarkable... that dual-lead attack made Iron Maiden a potent live band. Sadly, the drummer here (Clive Burr) was fired in 1983 and he passed away in 2013 (R.I.P.) ... Nicko McBrain (drums) replaced Burr in 1983 and is still Maiden's drummer today. U could do more songs from this record - 'The number of the beast'... 'The Prisoner'... 'Children of the damned'... 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Oh yeah. Definitely the best version. Amazing range of Bruce Dickinson. Axle has a good voice. But not even close to the range of Bruce. He's known as Bruce 'The Air-Raid Siren" for a reason. 🤣
Iron maiden - Dance of Death (studio or live en vivo) Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark (studio or live en vivo) Iron Maiden - Powerslave (studio or live) Iron Maiden - the Rime of ancient Mariner (studio or live USA) Iron Maiden - Blood Brothers (studio or live) Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera (studio with Paul Di’Anno on vocals or live with Bruce on vocals) Iron Maiden - Alexander the great (studio. And there’s nearly no live version) Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a seventh Son
Best show for Bruce's vocals in quality as his voice isn't so beat up from touring. Also check out Wasted Years, fear of the Dark, & Rime of the Ancient Mariner to start. So many hits from this band. Choose wisely. LOL. Bruce did do a "due" w/ Rob Halford (of Judas Pries) in Rob's band Halford w/ "The One You Love To Hate." (Not quite an equal duet (more Rob than Bruce), but enough to call it one).
Try Rime of the Ancient Mariner from their Flight 666 tour: ua-cam.com/video/2AmrIydnXIs/v-deo.html Or Fear of the Dark live, The Clansman live from Rock in Rio.. So much more to discover :)
Iron Maiden the best story telling band, not just Bruce’s vocals but the entire music that the rest of the band comes together to write a song To tell a story about the subject matter are nothing but a masterpiece. Alexander the Great The vocal the music it’s so well written that it takes you back to the era of Alexander the Great. The marching drum and the guitar riffs all together are telling the story as team. Same goes with all of there songs.

this is Bruce (the singer) first album he did with the band, from here they get just better and better! (Before Bruce band was more raw with fast pieces, punkish style singing of Paul was phenomenal too)
“Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, hollow be thy promises and shallow be thy shame. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven..."
