      Honesgtly it would be worse as it looked less sestive then a typical rubber dome digital keyboard control.... Like race sims don't have that much sensitivity range to use that as they can bearly use current gen gamepad control sticks do to the softewar limiter aka a weirdly tight sensitivity range in the menu... So yeah in Mario kart 8 with high turning it would have worked better doing to how quickly you can turn on a atom in that game...

    You should really try this on more of a sim racer like Assetto, as those games are generally less approachable with a normal controller. Games built with controller in mind usually utilize deadzones, not only in the steering, but also the throttle and brake. Assetto corsa won't have those same types of limitations, allowing you to really see the full capability of the controller.

    • @GreenBlueWalkthrough
      @GreenBlueWalkthrough Місяць тому

      I mean I don't think deadzones were the issue it was totakl range not t9iny precise movements which would only be worse in AC1 as like all race sims their sentivity range is very tight for some dumb reason that they refuse to take two sounds to fix in a patch... So that is why current gen gamepad are hard to use in modern race sims.. which this controller seems so much more limited then a current gen gamepad.. so even with out deadzones extendinbg the range it would be much worse... And Playstaion gamepad have always had a generous range so that control was always pointless.

      Like right? This has to be one of the absolute worst reviews I have ever seen on a unique product. No prior research done (ps3 racing games NEVER used the triggers, in fact almost no games used the triggers for primary functions because they were slippery and shit), half the video spent with showing off where the buttons are, and wiping off rubber reversion, then testing a ps3 controller with dedicated switches for games, with some atrocious PC cart racing battle royal slop (whatever if you like it I'm sure it is great, but is as far from the subject as it gets), and concluding it is not made for this (surprise surprise). And then the last sentence is: "I wonder if this is any better than a racing wheel...". Well that would've been your job to find out, if this was sold as a racing wheel replacement. Of course this was more of a specialized DS3 so the question would have been, is this better than the DS3? But even than, this should've been the first sentence of the review not the last. Like flipping heck.

    Racing wheels aren't technically better because they're more precise, they're better because the force feedback gives you more information on what the cars doing. Theoretically keyboard is the fastest because it has the fastest inputs

    • @thesaintnoodle
      @thesaintnoodle Місяць тому +2

      which input method is "better" is entirely dependant on what you're trying to do. if you're playing an arcade racer like trackmania or f-zero, you probably want keys or a thumbstick, but if you're playing a racing sim, you'll likely want some form of analog input, especially a racing wheel. a racing wheel is better both because of its precision and its force feedback capabilities if you want to play something like iRacing or assetto corsa as you will want to be able to make very slight adjustments to your cars trajectory and respond to feedback from the car. a keyboard being faster in this case is useless since, without an insane amount of practice, it is much easier to overshoot your target and lose control of the car.
      the primary drawback of binary inputs like keyboards is the fact that you're unable to select a position on the axis and stay there, which quite literally means racing wheels are better because of their precision.

    • @magicshrooms666
      @magicshrooms666 Місяць тому

      @thesaintnoodle I said theoretically for a reason, no other input method will allow you to instantly go from lock to lock and unlike real life slip angle tends to be a very efficient tool in turning due to games not having perfect physics. Beyond all that you do realize quite a few of the top Iracing pros are on controller right? The most important part of picking your input method is preference, I was just speaking on the *THEORETICAL* fastest input method

    Omg I had one of these and I miss it so so much! Im sad that mine broke but ive had 2 of them before. but the l-r triggers would always break or jam up. And the backing plate would get nasty too and start to wear off. other then that they were super good for games like Gran-Turismo. Thanks for bringing me back!

      like for example, it would mean that i can use clutch in a controller, wich gives even more control on sim-cades o simulators in general, like, i would use the x and sq yeah, as break and gas, and the right "trigger" as a clutch, and the left one maybe, just maybe as an e-brake, the top bumpers to change gears, and everything else as whatever else the game asks me for, like, the triangle to turn on the car in one or other game, the dpad for the tipical comunication shmut that i dont use, but one thing is what i think of it, and other completely different is what it would actually be like

    I also have a weird racing controller somewhere, it's the (Thrustmaster F1 Wireless Gamepad, Ferrari 150th Italia Alonso Edition), had to google the full name because it's way too big, it is more normal of a controller, but around a rather small dpad it has a wheel like thing that turns like a total of 90º or something, weirdly enough I did enjoy it quite a bit, but that was 10 years ago and it must have been one of my first gamepads i had, apart from my gravis (or knock off of one) that I had in the 90s, surprisingly the thrustmaster is also still available for purchase and very cheap.
