This tiny Japanese woman is LITERALLY TYE QUEEN GODDESS Of ROCK…. AMERICA SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES FOR NOT HOLDING A MANTLE AGAINST SUMETAL AND NO DISRESPECT TO SUMETAL SHE IS A ROCK GODDESS…. And instead we have CARDI B🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Believe me, real music lovers from America are ashamed of the "trash" that qualifies as music around here. Which is why I started my channel, to hear new artists like this....new to me, anyways.
@@SweenyTV Agreed. America and the UK have really fallen by the wayside when it comes to the quality of metal they are producing nowadays. Japan has one of the best metal scenes going today, if not THE best! And the all-female bands are pretty much leading the charge! Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Aldious, Band-Maid, Trident, Mary's Blood, Hagane, Hanabi, and many more. Japanese female metal is taking over, and I'm all in for it!
You just watched #9 on the Top 50 greatest Heavy Metal bands of all time . BabyMetal are one of the most entertaining talented bands i’ve ever seen . If you go down the foxhole you will find they can make any genre of music their own with Su Metal having a swiss army knife of a voice . To have your mind blown and see the stage dominance by two 13 yr old and a 15 yr old lead singer watch Road of Resistance live in Japan .
The crowd knows every song, the fans are an extension of Babymetal. They don't need any cues, although, Yui & Moa (the other two girls apart from the lead singer) are the ones to rile up the crowd most of the times. Welcome to the foxhole. As most Babymetal fans would say, there's no turning back now.
As I said this show was from 21 december 2013 it's Su-metals birthday show (born 20 december 1997) The genre is Kawaii Metal "cute metal" and the whole thing started with when the producer saw Suzuka Nakamoto in her previous J-pop group Karen Girls and was impressed with her strong voice and stage presence and came up with the idea to blend J-pop esthetics with heavy metal. (she was 10 years old at that time) The name Babymetal is quite similar to heavy metal in japanese Bebimetaru/Hebimetaru (べビーメタル/ヘビーメタル)and is more about giving birth to a new metal genre than about the girls ages. Kitsune up🤘🦊🤘🇸🇪/4
Great reaction! Cheerleaders from hell cracked me up! Those cheerleaders are Yuimetal aka The Angel of Dance and Tomato Princess as well as Moametal aka The Angel of Love. They do the bidding of Queen Su, Goddess of all that is Metal! Welcome to the Foxhole and The One! You'll love it here! Subbed for your Babymetal journey. Kitsune Up! 🤘🦊🤘
BABYMETAL is the best that ever happened to me! I am from Europe and I only discovered this fantastic band on UA-cam. Why aren''t they more promoted in Western media, since it is absolutely world class.
7:10 "I love the crowd control this little girl has". You ain't seen nothing yet. Road of Redemption Live in Japan - this little girl has a 20,000 strong crowd in the palm of her hand. That should be your next reaction to a Babymetal song. That one video alone showcase everything that make this band who they are: Amazing vocals, demanding stage presence, awesome choreography and crowd interaction/participation that only Babymetal know how to do.
BABYMETAL gave this genre the kick in the ass it really needed and had the added bonus of pissing off exactly the right people. They are simply wonderful, oh & yes SU-METAL can sing….great reaction……you ain’t heard anything yet.
Welcome to the Fox Hole! Is nice to be here \m/ _"Headbanger!"_ is one of the all time BM fans favorites, is quite hard to find a live concert without playing this song, it's way too good and epic to leave it out, they know and we all know what we're waiting for when this song starts. ;) As you can see this is a blaster song in which the girls have so much fun while singing a melancholic song about a fifteen yo girl going to her first metal concert and leaving her childhood behind, so she try to treasure every moment before all that fade away
Do you really want to be blown away? Did you see all that crwod control? Well, the concert was held in December 2013, and Babymetal didn't release their first album until 2014! This always amazes me!!
BABYMETAL are awesome live. I feel very fortunate to have seen them live twice, Brixton Academy 2019, and Eventim Apollo, London 2020. I sincerely hope they can tour overseas again sometime in the future..
I did notice how happy they made you! It is no surprise they tend to exude joy everywhere they go. The last concert I saw before the pandemic fortunately for me was Babymetal in London. 'Papaya' will make you smile - if you want to see the Kami Band showcase their musical prowess I suggest 'Rondo of Nightmare' which is a solo number for the lead singer (Su Metal) whilst the girls have a well earned rest. So many more I can mention - but you've definitely got yourself into a foxhole here if you continue with them - and I promise it will be one you will be happy never to come out of! Take care of yourself

Excellent first reaction - and that smile on your face, that is how it should be when you watch BABYMETAL, so welcome to the Fox Hole or, as a new fan, welcome to The One. Legend 1997 was the title of the show - it was actually December 2013, the day after Su's 16th birthday (she was born in 1997) . The camera angles were a bit deceptive, this was at makuhari messe and in the configuration that day the capacity was about 8 or 9,000. They did sell out the Tokyo Dome two or three years later - 55,000 people ... two nights running and a completely different set list each night. This will be a bit lengthy and I apologise in advance. Su-metal is the lead vocalist and the whole idea and concept for BABYMETAL is based around and only exists because of her talents. The other two girls - Yuimetal and Moametal - provide backing vocals, harmonies and do most of the dancing. They are more than just dancers - their role is key to what makes BABYMETAL unique. Su-metal rules the stage, Yuimetal and Moametal get the audience involved, they lead chants, when they sing the audience sing along to their parts, when they jump or make a particular move so does the audience. The backing band are the Kami Band (Kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned - there is a lot of lore in what they do - to support BABYMETAL in all their live shows and they always used to wear the traditional burial robes and corpse face paint). More recently the robes are black and the face paint has been replaced with masks - the fans for the most part do not like the masks, they like to see their expressions and that they are having a really good time too. BABYMETAL formed in 2010 as a sub-unit of a J-Pop Idol group called Sakura Gakuin formed by the talent agency Amuse with a view to coaching and training the members in all aspects of entertainment. As such SG had a school theme and was for about a dozen girls aged 10 to 15. As part of the school theme there were sub-units like after school clubs (cooking, tennis, science, baton etc) and as well as the main group's songs and dances the sub-units, with three or so of the girls in each one, would get their own themed songs and dances that they would perform at the Sakura Gakuin shows and Idol festivals. One of the producers, Kei Kobayashi, was a life long metalhead, more used to working with bands, but J-pop Idol music was creating a bit of a monopoly of music in Japan and getting the vast majority of the air time on TV and radio, so to make a living he was working in the kids division with the Amuse Talent Agency who formed Sakura Gakuin. Kobayashi had noticed a girl, Suzuka Nakamoto, a year or two earlier singing with her previous J-pop trio (Karen Girl's) and was struck by her unusually loud, powerful and full on no holds barred singing style and had the thought she would be wasted in pop and could even front a metal band ... she was only 10 at that time. Suzuka joined Sakura Gakuin as a founder member along with one of her friends from the J-pop trio as that group ended when the anime they sang the songs for ended its run. Kobayashi proposed another sub-unit to be led by Suzuka - the Heavy Music Club - a fusion of metal with the J-pop style vocals and aesthetics. Amuse were not impressed with his idea - Sakura Gakuin was aimed at coaching the girls in all sorts of entertainment skills so they could go on after graduating when they were 15 to further their careers in their chosen field, but they still wanted to make a little money from the sale of records and so on and, given that the audience for metal in Japan at that time was shrinking, there was no real potential for a heavy music club to either make any money or to progress the girls any further. However, under the umbrella of Sakura Gakuin, Amuse allowed Kobayashi his pet project - they thought he was mad, but they provided no extra budget (the money went to the more commercially viable sub-units) so there was no real risk involved. So Kobayashi asked Su to lead the sub-unit and the two youngest and smallest girls in Sakura Gakuin - Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi - to be her support. Their roles were defined as vocal and dance (Suzuka) scream and dance (Yui and Moa). At that time, in 2010, Su was 12, Yui and Moa are 18 months younger and were 11. They would perform under the name BABYMETAL - a pun based on the spelling in Japanese characters and pronunciation being virtually identical to Heavy Metal and it also indicated the birth of a new metal genre which they called Kawaii Metal (cute metal). Suzuka became Su-metal, Yui and Moa became Yuimetal and Moametal. Against all expectations BABYMETAL started to grow in popularity and to gain their own fans and audience - even more than the other sub-units. It was decided that when Su was due to graduate from Sakura Gakuin after her 15th birthday BABYMETAL should separate from Sakura Gakuin to become an independent band in their own right. Up until then they had performed with a backing track and in a couple of small shows of their own they had a fake band dressed in skeleton suits and miming the instruments on stage with them - they were called Babybones. As part of the preparation for the split a live band was phased in playing at a couple of festivals and the encores in a couple of shows - they were the Kami Band, some of Japan's very best session musicians. The separation was completed at the end of 2013 at this show, Legend 1997. The Kami Band played the last 5 songs in that show and, starting with the shows at the Budokan, early in 2014 became the full time support for all live shows ... they have been with them ever since. The Kami Band has core members, but they all have their own bands and projects so there are others who might step in depending on availability. In 2019 for the US tour and the European tour in 2020 the Kami Band of the West (American musicians) were introduced and supported BABYMETAL throughout those tours ... this was probably because (in part at least) these were the most extensive tours so far so the Kami Band of the East had some clashes in their own schedules that made being on tour for so long either very difficult or impractical. In 2014 BABYMETAL's video for their song 'Gimme Chocolate' went viral just before they embarked on their first 'world' tour - their first venture outside of Asia. As a result they were moved from a small side stage or tent where they had been booked to play at Sonisphere festival in the UK and they opened the main stage on the Saturday morning instead. This was pretty much make or break - they took to the stage to be faced by about 60,000 UK metalheads, most of whom had never heard of them (plus a few who had threatened to throw bottles and worse at this 'gimmick' band) and a few hundred of their own fans. They played 5 songs and left the crowd calling for more - their merch outsold all the other bands playing that weekend (there were big names among them like Iron Maiden and Metallica). They have 3 studio albums, several live albums and DVDs and about 50 songs now - and every one of them is different. Some are very metal others lean towards their pop roots, they play virtually every metal genre and blend in many other musical styles and genres - usually when you least expect it. They are also one of the very best live bands in the world right now. Try 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014 for your next reaction, it was the closing number from their set. BABYMETAL have not looked back ever since, touring the world every year since then, winning well over 20 of the 30+ awards they have been nominated for. They became the first Japanese band to headline Wembley Arena, they sold out the Tokyo Dome (55,000 people) two nights running and their third album was the first by any Asian band to hit number 1 in the Billboard Hard Rock charts. I did say it would be a bit lengthy - my apologies.
Common comments made by almost all the reactors who reacted to BABYMETAL: - this is different - that girl can sing - definitely gonna watch them live Yes that's BABYMETAL.. I found them last year October and quickly became my top favourite personally connected band along with Linkin Park. Lots of Love and Respect for them ❤️ BABYMETAL ❤️🦊🤘 Metal Goddess QUEEN SU-METAL ❤️ Metal Princess MOAMETAL 😍 Metal Princess YUIMETAL 😍 Avengers 😍 Kami Band 🔥
Yes, that girl sure can sing (her name is Su, by the way. Suzuka Nakamoto. Su-Metal. Goddess of the Metal Galaxy). And yes, that band sure can play (they are called the Kami band, and are literally made up of some of the best musicians in Japan). And the girls sure knows how to control a crowd. They totally own any stage you put them on. All this will become even more apparent the more you see them. Make sure to go for live performances whenever you can (unless explicitly asked to do otherwise), as live is where they truly shine. You will find a few more songs that are somewhat similar to "Headbanger" but most will be wildly different. Some even funnier and more lighthearted, others heavier and darker. A few defy classification of any sort. The only thing they really seem to have in common is how surprisingly good they all are. With most bands I like, I can easily list 2 or 3 tracks that stand out from the rest. With Babymetal, I would have to list 20. I would love to hear what you think about "Rondo of Nightmare", and especially the version with the "Mischief of the Gods" intro :-)
One of the Best Live Acts in All of the Metal Verse!! Babymetal have been Rocking the World for 10yrs and still going Strong!! More Babymetal Always!!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
Best song for first contact with Babymetal in my opinion. The first time I found it was in this track, although the recording was from another concert, but since then I have not listened to anything else and has been going on for months. They will be the first band I will definitely go to at a concert.
Nice reaction. Ha I had to laugh at the devils cheerleaders. Yui and Moa are too good to be working for the devil. If the devil ever met Babymetal, Their Kawaii power would melt the devil's cold heart. Devil end up dancing. lol
Legend of 1997 is the name of the concert. 1997 is the birth year of the lead singer, this was recorded in 2013 to celebrate her 16th birthday, the day before, the other 2 girls were 14 at the time. Try Megitsune music video or any live performance, or Ijime, Dame, Zettai live from Sonisphere 2014, their first major appearance outside Asia. IDZ is an anti-bullying song BTW.
Great reaction lots more BabyMetal none i dislike and Su's vocals have just got better over the years she is only 16 the day before this show . Her voice is even better at 23 years old 🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction! I like how everybody goes „Hit it, hit it!“ as soon as the gong comes up. :-) As you can imagine, BABYMETAL have spurred a lot of hate among Metal elitists for not being TRVE Metal. The truth is that new influences like this are what keeps Metal alive. Personally, I have never been more in love with a band, and I have been through a few favourites in my 47 years. There’s just so much going on here - the fusion of genres, the instrumental skills, the vocals, the voice, the smiles, the dancing, the stage designs, the theatrics, the crowd participation - no other band holds a candle against such a complete package of entertainment. And the best thing: It makes you smile. Just like you did. There is so much joy and positivity in it (another red flag for Metal elitists), you just can’t help but smile along. You might be surprised how different other songs are. You‘ll find influences from all sorts of genres - Reggae, Ska, EDM, Waltz, Hip Hop, Dubstep - mixed with different subgenres of Metal. The common denominator is that it’s always awesome. Looking forward to your next reaction!
Welcome to the Fox Hole. It's a magical journey you've started. Don't want to spoil anything for you, but this is a relatively old show you just watched. And they've only gotten better over the years. One of my favorite things about Babymetal is that you never know what to expect from a new song, because they experiment so much with genres and influences, you have to look extremely hard to find two similar songs.... in fact I can only think of two of their songs that are similar. Anyway keep watching them, you wont regret it if you are already a fan. I recommend going for live performances, and you can probably guess why after watching this video. Their performance is a very big part of the whole experience. Cheers 🤘🦊🤘
Hello from France Welcome to the wonderful world of BABYMETAL. This is a great band that is revolutionizing the world of Metal. They are full of enthusiasm, joy, it changes the traditional Metal bands which many think that to make Metal you have to be sad, shout in the microphone, sing satanic songs or others, it's a mistake, it's true, Metal is also that, but not only that, and these girls prove us with their professionalism, that many other Metal bands don't, that Metal can be joyful. They are detracted by some Metalheads because they don't play instruments, that it's a band built from scratch by an agency, ok, it's true, but if they didn't have this talent, their agency would have cut them off a long time ago, but that's not what happened, the proof is that they have just celebrated their 10 years of career by doing 10 concerts in the prestigious BUDOKAN hall in Japan. BABYMETAL is not for everyone, it's normal, everyone has his own taste, but we can't take away their professionalism, and I'm not the only one to think so, they are accepted by the greatest of Metal music, and who even defend them on the social networks, like Rob Zombie. Rob Halford would like to do a song with them in Japanese, he said so a few weeks ago. If you don't like some of the songs (or not so much), that's my case, go and see others, none of them are the same. Given your reaction, you will soon be part of THE ONE, the fan base. WARNING, great band but very addictive. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
They are better described as Inari's or the Fox God's cheerleaders. This concert is Legend 1997 and was in late 2013 and it's a defining early Babymetal concert. It's a celebration of the lead singer Su-metal as she was born in 1997 and the concert was the day after her 16th birthday. "Headbanger" is a bittersweet coming of age story about a 15 year old school girl going to a concert and braving the mosh pit, while knowing the freedom of the moment won't last long. It's used to celebrate BM birthdays and both Yui and Moa have taken the lead in it for their birthdays. The song probably resonated with Su because she had also recently graduated from school and the idol group "Sakura Gakuin", Yui and Moa were both still members, and started working full time with Babymetal. In Legend 1997 the energy of "Headbanger" is followed by the emotion of "Unfinished Akatsuki" and the insanity of "Babymetal DEATH" and together they tell a story about growing up and accepting sacrifice and change. You might like to watch the videos of those songs in order and you'll get an idea of how theatrical Babymetal can be. Su starts "Unfinished Akatsuki" from where she collapsed after "Headbanger".
Also remember these girls have been performing in BabyMetal for 10 years now . Oh also the backing band is known as Kami Band . Here you'll like this , it shows their individual talents ua-cam.com/video/PMJ2RkYkhAA/v-deo.html
I’m glad you fell into the Fox Hole. The Babymetal community is huge. We will be there for your questions and remember this, every song and sound you listen to will be different. They created their own genre.
Nice reaction. Are you talking about crowd control? Time to try "Road of Resistance" live in japan. Welcome to Babymetal galaxy, welcome to the fox hole, enjoy your journey.
From the Babymetal Reactor Resource ua-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/v-deo.html Going forward, if reactors want to keep reacting to the videos, I've come up with a solution that will make it possible to continue using the videos with logos that have already been tested against blocks. I've made a spreadsheet - docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... with links to both the logo videos and the non logo videos and are hosing them on a Russian social media site that won't remove them, and is out of the reach of the copyright trolls. There are a bit over 30 videos on there now, but I'll keep uploading more every day until they're all back up. I'll also be adding new videos that I'll test on an alt UA-cam account before adding to the spreadsheet. If you can't access the spreadsheet for whatever reason, here are direct links to both the non logo videos and the videos with logos: No logos - ok.ru/video/c6630874 With logos - ok.ru/video/c7184602 For reactors that want to put your own logo over the videos, here is a link to the logos I use that are already made transparent - drive.google.com/file/d/1JUVf... or you can use whatever logo you'd like. You can download the videos, which I recommend since the site can be a bit laggy sometimes, from this free website - sovid.net/ I recommend using the "HD" option when downloading to keep the file size reasonably small. Although there are other videos on my channel there, only use the ones on the spreadsheet because some of the other non logo videos aren't UA-cam safe. Kitsunes UP!
They have made this 51 year grumpy old man smile and enjoy listening to music again. There are great Japanese rock bands I highly recommend. You can start with the grand daddies X Japan, Loudness. New bands like Lovebites, all girl band that sings in English. Bandmaid, Humpback, Scandal.
Babymetal was formed in 2010. Lead vocals and dance is Suzuka Nakamoto aka Queen Su-metal now 23 yra old . Scream and dance are Moa Kikuchi aka Moametal and Yui Mizuno aka Yuimetal both are now 22 yrs old. Yuimetal officially left Babymetal in 2018 due to health reasons. The two remaining members of Babaymetal are Su-Metal, and Moametal. Su was born 12/20/1997 Yuimetal was born 06/20/1999, and Moametal was born on 07/04/1999.
"This ain't heavy metal, welcome to the world of Babymetal" - Su-Metal. She was just 16 for this performance, she has a great voice. And she has such stage presence. They are the best thing to happen to metal in ages, a breath of fresh air,
I'm becoming addicted to first time Babymetal reactions and this is one of the best (Oh and 1997 was the year lead singer Su Metal was born and this was her 16th birthday)
@@SweenyTV no problem. If you want to do more I recommend going back to the very start with the music video to their first single "Doki Doki Morning". The girls are very young in it and it's interesting to see how it started being a 50/50 mix of J-pop and metal
Hi!!! I've been listening to metal for over 10 years and Babymetal became one of my favourite bands of all time !!! it's very different from "traditional metal", but they are great, really if you watch them without prejudice, you may or may not like them, but they do an awsome job!!! both the girls and the Kami Band (The musicians) are excellent at what they do, personally I love this band. You have a world whole to discover, Babymetal are a genre by themselves, you'll see hehehe. well greetings from a Kitsune (babymetal fan) from Mexico !! /o/
Well, seems all the Babymetal regulars have given you the Details about the girls... Please if you are going to react to Babymetal Death, please read the translation of the Japanese intro that's usually found in the video description. 🤘🦊🤘
You got yourself a new subscriber. Hi, I am from Singapore 🇸🇬 and been a Babymetal fan since 2012. Hope you like Babymetal. Su-Metal 16th Birthday 🎉 celebration. She was born in the year 1997. Btw, here's a bit of info of the song:- Headbanger (Babymetal song) "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially. Single: Babymetal Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation Language: Japanese Released: July 4, 2012 Genre: Power metal Length: 14:44 Label: Juonbu Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki Producer: Kobametal Narametal: (arrangement) Babymetal singles chronology:- "Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012) "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012) "Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013) Background and release:- Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times. She had been told to sing and find a story within the music. By the time she had comprehended the story behind the lyrics, she grew capable of singing the entire song naturally. When Mizuno and Kikuchi listened to her shouting "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" for the first time, they felt as if they had seen another cool side of her, surprised by the vocal power. Additionally, the single introduced the members to the whispering style of singing, with the A-side's "Kiero!" (Disappear!) and the B-side's "Uki Uki Midnight". Kobametal was inspired to use it to contrast traditional death growls. "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" was announced as a single on April 27, 2012, with a release date set for July 7, 2012. The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, available via CD and digital formats, and a physical limited Hedo-ban ("Head edition"), which contains a CD and a "neck corset" (actually a cervical collar) for headbanging training.[5] Both editions of the single feature the songs "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" and "Uki Uki ★ Midnight" (ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト, "Exhilarating Midnight"), along with instrumental versions (labeled as "Air Vocal ver."). The standard version contains an enhanced CD with a bonus music video of "Babymetal Death", which can only be played on a computer. The artwork of the standard edition depicts a lyric in the song, specifically when the girl is headbanging with the corset, with the crimson-colored moon in the background, as well as the band name appearing at the top. The limited edition artwork depicts a temple scripture of the "Corset of Legend" with the song title spelled out in the middle. Before the physical international release of the song, its title was written ambiguously as either "Head Bangya!!" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", the latter of which is officially used in the international re-release of Babymetal and all future releases. The music video uploaded to the band's UA-cam channel initially had the former name, though it was switched to the latter in 2015; the version uploaded by Toy's Factory consistently retained the official title. Tekina Remix:- During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music. The former took place on Suzuka Nakamoto's actual fifteenth birthday, while the latter was the opening song for the concert. Remixed by DJ'Tekina//Something, the song was later released as part of Social Reform promotional editions of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ'Tekina//Something's remix album Kawa-EDM (2016), re-subtitled as "Tekina Remix". I really enjoy reading all the details of this cute-metal band....passionate fans, I hope to to be The One someday, I'm feeling already like I am! Greetings from USA
To start off with my ultimate Babymetal fave song is way to go...nice reaction and Legend 1997 refers to Queen Su's birth year and that concert was held in honour of her birthday. My recommendation is to react to Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere where they performed in front of unapologetic metal heads.
So glad you found the Japanese music scene, until I stumbled across it a year ago I lost all hope for any new great rock/metal, well bud it’s all there in Japan, the rock scene there is absolutely amazing, with fantastic musicianship, great writing and it’s amazing how many all girl groups there are 🤟🤟🤟 Gotta listen to BAND MAID, NEMOFILIA, BRIDEAR , GACHARIC SPIN, and to really spin your head the amazing MAXIMUM THE HORMONE,
Great reaction sir. They are the hardest working entertainers in the business. Their world class backup band The Kami Band is amazing. Strap in got a wonderful journey. Watch them LIVE whenever possible.
As this is your first time with Babymetal and you picked Legend 1997 concert, hear is what this concert is all about from start to finish just to give you a little bit of an idear of Babymetal and yes there is a lot more to learn about them than this if you are interested, this is not even were they started and they have definitely moved on to were they are now. Ho and bye the way (The Devil's Cheerleaders) well I have never heard them described like that before but "Yes". 🤘😈🦊👿🤘 *BABYMETAL - LEGEND 1997 APOCALYPSE CONCERT* at Makuhari Messe, Chiba Japan. This concert was on the 21/12/2013, the concert was named (Legend 1997) because that was the year when Suzuka Nakamoto the lead singer was born on the 20/12/1997, so the show is in some way (SU-METAL's 16th birthday party) how did you celebrate your 16th birthday? I cannot remember mine, SU is not going to foget her 16th birthday. The whole show (Legend 1997) is all about BABYMETAL's final transition from being a sub-unit of Sakura Gakuin and J-pop Idols in to an independent and a live performance metal band. The show started with an opening performance with Yui and Moa carrying neck braces to the music of 'Ave Maria', this is telling you who the statue is of at the back of the stage 'Mary Nazareth' (Mary of Nazareth) this opening performance comes to a conclusion when Yui and Moa offer up the neck braces to the statue and descend below the stage, to be replaced bye SU waring a neck brace standing on a plinth that rises half way up the statue, Yui and Moa then reappear back on stage and they go into there first song of the show. That song is a very techno dance remix of 'Headbanger' (Headbanger!! -Night of 15 mix-) but it was not remixed bye a fan Babymetal remixt it, if you ever watch it how you see it is how they performed it on stang, it will all so be very clear that they are lip-syncing and if you don't no anything about the world of pop ldols they nearly allwas lip-sync, now remember this concert is about there transition so this first song was entirely and unashamedly lip-synced to a backing track and they were not trying to hide it, I don't think that Yui or Moa ever tried to pretend they were singing they just smiled danced, and interacted with the fans even when they reappear back on stage at the start of this song the looks on there faces said "we are going to have fun with this", SU no the other hand loves to sing and the look on her face at the start of this song was more like "HO BOY lets get this over with", SU do's lip-sync with the mic but there are times were she moves the mic away and carries on singing and at one part the other dancers lift SU up arms outstretched mic in hand and you can hear her singing but SU's lips are sealed and the look on her face at this point is just saying "REALY", even the band that are on stage with them are fake thay are actors dressed in skeleton outfits called (The Babybones) and are pretending to play there instruments. So now you no about the first song what about the rest of the concert and no I not going through each song individually I will put a play list up of them for you, what I will say is that the techno dance remix of 'Headbanger' was the last time you would see SU-Metal, YuiMetal or MoaMetal lip-syncing, for the rest of this concert and every concert that they have done since the girls are singing LIVE, however the rest of this concert was done to backing tracks with The Babybones pretending to play, but the fans went hard at this concert and so did the girls it was one hell of a party that I would have loved to have bean at. Hear is the play list for this concert. Legend "1997" Ave Maria (Intro) Headbanger!! -Night of 15 mix- Doki Doki Morning Iine! Tamashii No Rufuran, Return To Myself ver. (Yoko Takahashi) Uki Uki Midnight Gimme Chocolate Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai Megitsune Ijime, Dame, Zettai *The Band* Babybones. Now that may have bean the end of the concert but it was not the end of there transition, the show was about to begin the girls would come back out on stage for a five song encore but this time The Babybones were not with them, the band that came back out on stage with SU, Yui and Moa were THE KAMI BAND and they don't have to pretend to play there instruments, The Kami Band is made up from some of the vary best musicians that there are in the world today and they were about to rock this place to it's very foundations, the five songs they were to perform are these. -ENCORE- Onedari Daisakusen Catch Me If You Can (Extended Intro) Head Bangya Akatsuki (Unfinished Version) Babymetal Death *The Band* The Kami Band - Aoyama Hideki (Drums), BOH (Bass), Fujioka Mikio (Guitar), Leda Cygnus (Guitar). So now what do we have a very hyped up crowd rocking hard the girls feeding off the crowds energy and going harder and now a live band that always rock hard and heavy, Babymetal's transition from pop Idol singers into a live performance heavymetal band was complete, I said before that this was one hell of a party for these last five songs HELL would think that it was being invaded. There was one more thing to be done and it would involve the last song BABYMETAL DEATH, but that neads a description all of it's own so we will leave that for now. JUST AS AN EXTRA FOR YOU. This how ever would not be the last time that The Babybones would perform with the girls, Babymetal is not just a band they refer to it as The Babymetal Family and once you are a part of the family you will allways be a part of it and The Babybones had bean a big part of Babymetal and there evolution to were they are now, so as a farewell to the fans The Babybones were given one last tour to do with the girls it would consist of five concerts two out side of Japan and three in Japan. These are the concerts. DATE: EVENT: PLACE: BAND: 28/12/2013, Live In Singapore, Scape The Ground Theatre, Singapore, Babybones. 30/12/2013, Countdown Japan 13/14, Makuhari Messe Internacional Exhibition Hall, Chiba, Babybones. 18/01/2014 All Live Nippon 2014 (Vol.2) Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan Babybones. 24/01/2014 Kinniku Shōjo Tai × Babymetal Tsutaya O-East, Tokyo, Japan Babybones. 02/02/2014 Babymetal x Chthonic ATT Shout Box, Taipei, Taiwan Babybones. This was The Babybones last tour there was just one more thing to do, and that was to officially retire from stage and hand over to The Kami Band, this would be a performance of just one song *Ijime Dame Zettai* it means (No More, Bullying, Forever) a good song choice for this, and it would be the first and only time that The Girls, The Babybones and The Kami Band would be no stage performing together, after this performance the band with the girls has always bean The Kami Band and the performances have always bean live, that is what they wanted to be a Live Performance Band and they are, to listen to a Babymetal song is good, to watch a Babymetal music video is all so good, but to see Babyletal perform live that is somthing you just have to experience. Anyway this performance was at. DATE: 06/02/2014 EVENT: Music Station Show PLACE: Makuhari Messe Event Hall, Chiba, Japan BAND: Babybones + Kami Band KAMI BAND FORMATION: Hideki Aoyama (Drums), BOH (Bass), Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitars), Leda Cygnus (Guitars) BABYBONES FORMATION: "ONLY THE FOX GOD KNOWS". 🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction thanks and welcome to BABYMETAL universe! This is just the tip of the iceberg. Yur BABYMETAL journey starts here and it will be awesome! I just wanted to add: always expect the unexpected and be prepared to be surprised. Until next time!
@@SweenyTV WHAT! You're not supposed to smile to Heavy METAL! Love Babymetal. You can thrash your head around and smile same time while breaking stuff. All around great time. You did however, miss the Pikachu in the audience. I love their music video's a alot, but the live performances with all the music theater is so well done just sends them over the top for me.
1997 is the year Su-Metal (leadsinger) was born and the Legend 1997 show was at the day after her 16th birthday. the other two Moametal and Yuimetal are even younger. Both born in 1999. All three have amazing crowd control. Keep watching and you'll find out they can control mosh pits with just one finger. Starting with Babymetal the wtf did I just watch moment comes with every new Song. They are all different and amazing.
currently they perform on stages with a capacity of 25k not counting the tokyo dome which was their biggest show, 2 days in a row and a total audience of 110000 people.
I will add that this is the Makuhari Event Hall. A small amphitheater attached to the convention center. Shows after this are performed in the Convention Hall holding 22,000 to 30,000 depending on stage setup and whether or not they want to leave room for people to kneel and bow for a better Blu-ray.
you've just opened up yourself to the amazing world of Babymetal, I'm not going to say much here except enjoy the ride :) (also, methink you've also opened up yourself to have your heart stolen by 36 girls ... but that would be later, for now, enjoy Babymetal - my advise is get to know the girls and the band more, not just musically, but everything about them) Cheers!
Great reaction dude! I enjoyed watching your reaction. Babymetal is full of energy, they sing about 15 yrs old girl getting excited going to her first metal concert. Headbanger or Headoban in Japanese is one of their most popular songs. Please react to more BM songs, they are UNIQUE and all their songs are different. Thanks for reading.
What a fantastic reaction! You will certainly get a lot of different lore and backstory from others, so I'll just say: welcome to the Fox hole and put your Kitsunes up!! 🤘🏻😎🦊
I love how people who haven't heard babymetal process this song xd First it seems strange to them that it starts with the sound of the organ, then the beautiful voice of Su Metal enters, then the frantic rhythm of the band and then the voices of Moa and Yui hahaha They do not have time to analyze what is happening Me encanta cómo la gente que no ha escuchado a babymetal procesa esta canción xd Primero les parece extraño que comience con el sonido del órgano, luego entra la hermosa voz de Su Metal, luego el ritmo frenético de la banda y luego las voces de Moa y Yui jajaja No tienen tiempo para analizar lo que está pasando.
Watch the live vids, before you go for the MVs. Saying that, watch Doki Doki Morning next. Was their first vid. They looked soooo young. Don’t watch Death until you are completely down the Foxhole. It out does Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot! The most metal thing evahhh!
Great reaction amigo To answer your question You just reacted to THE BEST LIVE PERFORMERS IN THE WORLD and YES ALL THEIR PERFORMANCES ARE JUST PURE FIRE 🔥 You will get a lot of suggestions But I think you need to react to IJIME DAME ZETTAI LIVE AT SONISPHERE 2014 First performance in the west To 65,000+ screaming metal heads
I am sorry for laughing at your reaction, but it is typical for BABYMETAL the first reaction. Even you know the music from all over the world, you have never heard of music like this? (you do not like USA music?, maybe your country, right?) At first you say "dark cheer leaders?", next smiling, shaking your head with joy, and at last shouting "hit the gong!". That was great reaction. Btw, I am not familiar with metal music so much, but did almost same reaction for them at first. Mr.Grington has written the passionately long writings, but If we read his hot writings, we can see how good responsive you are. Please react to them more. Thank you from Japan.
I was curious about the arena myself, did some digging and found out that this was from a concert they did on Dec. 21, 2013 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan just outside of Tokyo. Apparently it has a capacity of 9,000 and it looks like this show sold out. The "WTF" reaction is typical for first-timers - get used to it if you watch more Babymetal. Chances are your next Babymetal reaction video will include the phrase "I wasn't expecting that" - that, too, is typical. I usually suggest going back to their first MV "Doki Doki Morning ( ua-cam.com/video/5w8YN8AmHrg/v-deo.html ) then working your way forward but whatever other Babymetal songs you may end up reacting to, you can't go wrong. But if you want to see crowd control, I highly recommend "Road of Resistance" ( ua-cam.com/video/zTEYUFgLveY/v-deo.html ). You've taken your first step into the foxhole; it's up to you how deep you want to go. Kitsune up!!! 🦊🤘
@@SweenyTV As we all know looks can be deceiving! However, just for the record, on September 19 and 20, 2016, Babymetal performed at the Tokyo Dome before 55,000 EACH night - I would have given ANYTHING to be there one of those two nights! 🦊🤘
That sixteen year old girl with the amazing crowd control is our Queen Suzuka Nakamoto AKA Su-Metal. The Cheerleaders from Hell are Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi. YuiMetal and MoaMetal respectively. Every song they have is different. Live is better but they have some great videos, too. Glad you enjoyed them. Get ready for more confusion. They never let up. And the band? Don't even get me started on those boys. You'll see. Kitsune up!
"That girl can sing" is most likely the most underrated thing you've ever said. She is the Queen of Metal
@@SweenyTV I don’t listen American music for many years. Sometimes I check the latest and turn it off. Trash it is.

Ha, me too, I thought Rock was dead, but it simply moved to Japan 🇯🇵
It’s better now than ever before
You just watched #9 on the Top 50 greatest Heavy Metal bands of all time .
I don't know where did you find this information but they are not even in top 100 metal bands...😂 And i love babymetal btw

This might have been one of the early concerts where zhey had really Band in the background not Baby Bonus.
I think with concept of hell you would run into problems in Japan
The crowd knows every song, the fans are an extension of Babymetal. They don't need any cues, although, Yui & Moa (the other two girls apart from the lead singer) are the ones to rile up the crowd most of the times. Welcome to the foxhole. As most Babymetal fans would say, there's no turning back now.
Nice Reaction...Welcome to the FOXHOLE...BABYMETAL JOURNEY...
As I said this show was from 21 december 2013 it's Su-metals birthday show (born 20 december 1997)
The genre is Kawaii Metal "cute metal" and the whole thing started with when the producer saw Suzuka Nakamoto in her previous J-pop group Karen Girls and was impressed with her strong voice and stage presence and came up with the idea to blend J-pop esthetics with heavy metal. (she was 10 years old at that time)
The name Babymetal is quite similar to heavy metal in japanese Bebimetaru/Hebimetaru (べビーメタル/ヘビーメタル)and is more about giving birth to a new metal genre than about the girls ages. Kitsune up🤘🦊🤘🇸🇪/4
"I have never seen anything like that"
Been there, said that...
More Babymetal, please.
Great reaction btw
Than you Oliver! More to come.
I'll always love Nightwish, Babymetal is very unique, based off the one video I watched.
I have a broad taste in music so there is room for it all!
U're one more, when i listen babymetal on first time y think "this is awesome" and now is on my playlist. This group catch me
BABYMETAL gave this genre the kick in the ass it really needed and had the added bonus of pissing off exactly the right people. They are simply wonderful, oh & yes SU-METAL can sing….great reaction……you ain’t heard anything yet.
This was actually in Makuhari Messe which had about 7,000-8,000 people I believe. Regardless, awesome video, please do more BABYMETAL!
Welcome to the Fox Hole! Is nice to be here \m/
_"Headbanger!"_ is one of the all time BM fans favorites, is quite hard to find a live concert without playing this song, it's way too good and epic to leave it out, they know and we all know what we're waiting for when this song starts. ;)
As you can see this is a blaster song in which the girls have so much fun while singing a melancholic song about a fifteen yo girl going to her first metal concert and leaving her childhood behind, so she try to treasure every moment before all that fade away
Do you really want to be blown away?
Did you see all that crwod control? Well, the concert was held in December 2013, and Babymetal didn't release their first album until 2014! This always amazes me!!
Welcome my friend... That smile on your face is a common side effect of BM. Yes, our Queen can most definitely sing. Thank you for the reaction. 🦊🤘🔥🖤
BABYMETAL are awesome live. I feel very fortunate to have seen them live twice, Brixton Academy 2019, and Eventim Apollo, London 2020. I sincerely hope they can tour overseas again sometime in the future..
Welcome to the club, you have a long journey ahead of you.
My favourite band

Common comments made by almost all the reactors who reacted to BABYMETAL:
- this is different
- that girl can sing
- definitely gonna watch them live
Yes that's BABYMETAL.. I found them last year October and quickly became my top favourite personally connected band along with Linkin Park. Lots of Love and Respect for them ❤️ BABYMETAL ❤️🦊🤘 Metal Goddess QUEEN SU-METAL ❤️ Metal Princess MOAMETAL 😍 Metal Princess YUIMETAL 😍 Avengers 😍 Kami Band 🔥
perfect track to start BABYMETAL ...

Best song for first contact with Babymetal in my opinion. The first time I found it was in this track, although the recording was from another concert, but since then I have not listened to anything else and has been going on for months.

Legend of 1997 is the name of the concert. 1997 is the birth year of the lead singer, this was recorded in 2013 to celebrate her 16th birthday, the day before, the other 2 girls were 14 at the time.

As you can imagine, BABYMETAL have spurred a lot of hate among Metal elitists for not being TRVE Metal.
I am a little late so I know everyone else has answered everything you needed to know . Great first video to react to. Glad you enjoyed it.

Cheers 🤘🦊🤘
more babymetal..
Looks like we got a new one. Kitsune Up!
Hello from France
Welcome to the wonderful world of BABYMETAL.

Su starts "Unfinished Akatsuki" from where she collapsed after "Headbanger".
never quit of the thing's that makes you happy, just follow your hearts desire and make it to the fullest...God Bless you Chris ❤️❤️❤️
❤
Love watching this. Makes me remember my first time 😍
You are in for a journey into Babymetal, get your seatbelt and helmet on, jump and yell as you wish. Keep safe and Babymetal!
From the Babymetal Reactor Resource ua-cam.com/video/q40VmTHSh4c/v-deo.html
Going forward, if reactors want to keep reacting to the videos, I've come up with a solution that will make it possible to continue using the videos with logos that have already been tested against blocks.
If you can't access the spreadsheet for whatever reason, here are direct links to both the non logo videos and the videos with logos:
No logos - ok.ru/video/c6630874
With logos - ok.ru/video/c7184602
For reactors that want to put your own logo over the videos, here is a link to the logos I use that are already made transparent - drive.google.com/file/d/1JUVf... or you can use whatever logo you'd like.
Thank you!!!!

HaHa. You never knew the Queens of Metal were 3 teenage Japanese school girls dressed as gothic cheerleaders. BabyMetal made Metal fun again.
Great info!
If you would like i could share some more BABYMETAL. I have a few concerts/Mv's and other type of Japanese music and bands.

"This ain't heavy metal, welcome to the world of Babymetal" - Su-Metal. She was just 16 for this performance, she has a great voice. And she has such stage presence. They are the best thing to happen to metal in ages, a breath of fresh air,

You got yourself a new subscriber. Hi, I am from Singapore 🇸🇬 and been a Babymetal fan since 2012. Hope you like Babymetal. Su-Metal 16th Birthday 🎉 celebration. She was born in the year 1997. Btw, here's a bit of info of the song:-
Headbanger (Babymetal song)
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially.
Single: Babymetal
Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation
Language: Japanese
Released: July 4, 2012
Genre: Power metal
Length: 14:44
Label: Juonbu
Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki
Producer: Kobametal
Narametal: (arrangement)
Babymetal singles chronology:-
"Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012)
"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012)
"Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013)
Background and release:-
Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times.
Tekina Remix:-
During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music.

Give me MOOOOOOOOOOOOORE
another new soul entering BABYMETAL Universe , nice.
they have 40+ songs and not single one of them sound the same so do enjoy your journey forward.

So glad you found the Japanese music scene, until I stumbled across it a year ago I lost all hope for any new great rock/metal, well bud it’s all there in Japan, the rock scene there is absolutely amazing, with fantastic musicianship, great writing and it’s amazing how many all girl groups there are 🤟🤟🤟
Gotta listen to BAND MAID, NEMOFILIA, BRIDEAR , GACHARIC SPIN, and to really spin your head the amazing MAXIMUM THE HORMONE,
Great reaction sir. They are the hardest working entertainers in the business. Their world class backup band The Kami Band is amazing. Strap in got a wonderful journey. Watch them LIVE whenever possible.
Yeah they breaking the wall of metal with their energy

Thanks for watching.....glad you liked the reaction! Pa Pa Ya!! is next
*BABYMETAL - LEGEND 1997 APOCALYPSE CONCERT* at Makuhari Messe, Chiba Japan.
Legend "1997"
Ave Maria (Intro)
Headbanger!! -Night of 15 mix-
Doki Doki Morning
Iine!
Tamashii No Rufuran, Return To Myself ver. (Yoko Takahashi)
Uki Uki Midnight
Gimme Chocolate
Kimi To Anime Ga Mitai
Megitsune
Ijime, Dame, Zettai
*The Band*
Babybones.
-ENCORE-
Onedari Daisakusen
Catch Me If You Can (Extended Intro)
Head Bangya
Akatsuki (Unfinished Version)
Babymetal Death
*The Band*
The Kami Band - Aoyama Hideki (Drums), BOH (Bass), Fujioka Mikio (Guitar), Leda Cygnus (Guitar).
DATE: EVENT: PLACE: BAND:
28/12/2013, Live In Singapore, Scape The Ground Theatre, Singapore, Babybones.
DATE: 06/02/2014 EVENT: Music Station Show PLACE: Makuhari Messe Event Hall, Chiba, Japan BAND: Babybones + Kami Band

All three have amazing crowd control. Keep watching and you'll find out they can control mosh pits with just one finger.
Starting with Babymetal the wtf did I just watch moment comes with every new Song. They are all different and amazing.
Welcome to Babymetal, they do perform to large crowds, but this was an arena, not even a big one at that. It was around 8000 to 9000.
currently they perform on stages with a capacity of 25k not counting the tokyo dome which was their biggest show, 2 days in a row and a total audience of 110000 people.
@@Arthur_Rodri They will keep on working hard to grow the size of audience I'm sure
I will add that this is the Makuhari Event Hall. A small amphitheater attached to the convention center. Shows after this are performed in the Convention Hall holding 22,000 to 30,000 depending on stage setup and whether or not they want to leave room for people to kneel and bow for a better Blu-ray.
I always believed more than 500 is a big crowd....

One of us one of us #notacult
I love how people who haven't heard babymetal process this song xd
First it seems strange to them that it starts with the sound of the organ, then the beautiful voice of Su Metal enters, then the frantic rhythm of the band and then the voices of Moa and Yui hahaha They do not have time to analyze what is happening
And if you look closely you may see Pikachu in the audience dead center
Haha.... I'll have to look more closely
You can also see "Happy Birthday" written on Boh's head. This is visible when Su climbs the steps at the end.

I am sorry for laughing at your reaction, but it is typical for BABYMETAL the first reaction. Even you know the music from all over the world, you have never heard of music like this? (you do not like USA music?, maybe your country, right?)
At first you say "dark cheer leaders?", next smiling, shaking your head with joy, and at last shouting "hit the gong!".
