This is what I keep telling people. Jake Kiszka is/is going to be referred to as one of the greatest guitarists of this generation for solos like this. Phenomenal.
He’s one of them already. My all time favorite guitarist will always be John Mayer , I think John is the greatest guitarist of our generation ,but Jake is for sure one of the greatest of our generation too ,I’m glad GVF exists ,great great band 🎸✨
I love seeing people's first reactions to Broken Bells, it's always a mix of "Oh My God", "Oh wow", "That was beautiful". Honestly, how could I not agree? ahahah
This band is INCREDIBLE! I'm 53 years old and have seen the Stones, Van Halen, and many other big bands in concert, and this guy's voice is amazing. I've seen them live at the House of Blues in Boston back in 2018 and they are unparalleled in today's rock scene. They're just kids and they've got at least 15 more years before they fade out. ENJOY them while you can!
Just one guitarist, here. But he fills alot of space, and manages to juggle both rhythm and lead, at the same time. Watch him play, and see how intricate and subtle his work is. And then, we get to watch them develope for years to come! Crystal ball predicts: lots of good things coming down the road, too. I do want to say, Sam's keyboard work is also a crucial aspect of the Battle at Garden's Gate. They blend together perfectly. Actually, they all do. The vocals, keys, and guitar move together, merging, and then yeilding to each other perfectly. Talk about hive mentality. All four of them are more dedicated to the quality and message of the song, then to showing off their individual prowess. Masterful songwriters, each in his own right. ✌💖&🤝 to all!
Yvonne Saunders. I think it helps a huge amount that they’re brothers and they started so young. They’ve had years to get so they can read each other…especially the twins, but they’re all so in tune with each other.
Couldn’t agree more bro. I listen as a guitarist and hear the rhythm and lead interchange. Flawless. And I agree that their ability to focus on solidarity rather than individuality is what makes them such a great band. Well put, my friend.
Thanks for the explanation. Not being a musician I kinda wondered why they can sound like a studio production but it's just Jake playing two parts at one time. I saw them live and they really turn him loose in concert.
Just watched them live and cried during this song cause the guitarist transformed and transcended and transported us all into the music. Can’t wait to see them again!
THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK and reacting to this gorgeous song! Yes, that's Jake alone, on guitar. Are WE the broken bells? We've all been "broken" in one way or another - but we still have a life to live and can still ring. The lyrics in many GVF songs, from what Josh says, are open to interpretation. He writes so beautifully, and puts deep thought behind the lyrics. You're going to LOVE this album - and they're playing many of these tunes tonight, in Chicago!! 🔥🔥🔥
@@tunesidig Fantastic! I can't wait to see your reactions to Caravel and The Barbarians. Both songs I wasn't in love with at first but are now my favorites! Maybe because when I listen to songs, I build a whole story around them. 😂 Hope you're having a great day. ☮️
This song is my fav from TBAGG. It was written during quarantine and the lyrics are indicative - "I see the city lights, but no star flights (very few planes during quarantine), Sweeping off the pavement with a parlor broom, going nowhere soon." This is my favorite to see live. Everyone belts out that chorus and you can just feel the energy change. Also my fav Jake solo. It's much more melodic than his usual. There's a reason he's been voted guitarist of the year or best guitarist in many guitar magazines the past couple of years. HE is epic.
The candlelight session is just splendid 🥰 I wanna do a cover of this one myself Stardust Chords, Caravel and Weight of Dreams are tracks I've been obsessed with as well; just this entire album is pure gold ah
love this reaction! i was at their show last week in CT where they performed this live for the first time and you're absolutely right, seeing jake rip that solo was epic. he totally nailed it!
Thanks John! I think I'm keeping it to studio recordings for now. Mostly because I need to cover more than 1 band haha. The rest of BAGG is coming throughout the next few days. And then on some new stuff by other bands :D
Ooo ur so LUCKY!! I’m on Long Island & SERIOUSLY considered dragging my old a$$ there but unfortunately I’m immune cmprsd and can’t risk it, I can PROMISE when this COVID shit is over I’ll be there with bells on! In my 47 yrs on this planet this group is already my favorite! 💯💯♥️♥️
Love Broken Bells, surely one of the highlights of the album. The "twin" guitar sound you hear during the solo is the WaWa machine. Used to be used heavily in 70's rock, not so much now. But it works great on this track. You are right about the solo here being epic in a live performance. I wish I could see them live, especially since they are from Michigan.
Saw them live August 5th 2021 and the entire show was EPIC!!! It was amazing!. If you get the chance to see them please go. The energy and talent are unbelievable! Love watching you react to this album.
Your channel came up today while watching GVF reactions. Your Heat Above one brought tears to my eyes. Ridiculous? Maybe. I subscribed when I saw how many of their songs you have. 👏
Even if you can't do reactions for them, I can't recommend the Candlelight Sessions highly enough for your listening/viewing pleasure. Broken Bells/Tears of Rain/Light My Love, with a fricking string section. Pure, transcendent magic. Great video editing on your reaction videos, by the way. :-)
Will absolutley check the Candlelight Sessions out regardless! Yeah I guess you read my other comments, but the rest of Battle At Garden's Gate is coming in the next week. So after that I'm gonna move on. Thanks for the compliment Becky
It WAS epic in Bridgeport CT on 8/27/21! That jam at the end was all I could manage to record on my phone too. I just had to stand still long enough! 😄
FINALLY! Since I saw your reaction to "Heat above" I've been waiting to see more! Where have you been man? 😂 You should watch live Candlelight Sessions version of this. Sam plays the piano instead of bass and it's magnificent!
Ahhh it's been a bit of a rough summer if I'm being honest. July was especially.. difficult. Very difficult. But I'm here 😃. More GVF coming this week.
I promise this is the last time i'll say it! Bro ngl, youre gonna love the new HUGE rockband from europe, italy! Theyre called "Maneskin" (moonshine in danish) and theyre deffo the same kaliber as GVF! Their best stongs IMO are: Zitti e buoni Coraline for your love i would love to see you review these, count me in as a new sub!

I'm 70 years old and react to them like no other since I started listening to Johnny Mathis in 1958.
Exactly. I can't hear this song without just sitting back and going "wooooow" every five seconds.
The clip during jakes solo was so accurate but so random lmfao😂❤
Jake's solo on this when I saw them was EPIC!!!!!!
