@@NinjaOnANinjaif they're protected for breeding, then that means you can't legally eat them. Could they do it? Sure! But you can always choose to break the law.

But I imagine there are some females that do get caught with no eggs that have molted through the notch and are still under 5", in which case they are just unlucky.

It's up to the local community to make sure everyone has a nice place to live
This is the best fisherman on the internet period . He sets the standards on how to be a good fishermen and how to take care of the wildlife in the ocean . In this morning he showed us how there's trash on the ocean , and he helps pick it up , when so many of these people in the ocean ( Recreational boaters ) trashing the ocean , he's helping the ocean ( A LIVING BREATHING OCEAN ) so can we ask for anything more than that .

Hey man after watching your videos I started looking out for notching sometimes when I’m at the grocery store. It is saddening how many times I have seen a decisive V notch amongst the captured lobsters. Some people don’t care, but I’m glad you put the effort to teach and show people the proper way to sustainably catch

Had a lobster dinner the other day and i got to the tail fins and saw the notch and wondered why i cared? "Waaaait wait wait, 2nd fin....from the right. Yeah 2nd fin from the right!" and realized it wa 2nd from the left...perfect lil triangle notch....its been 5 days and i still am wondering if someone notched the wrong side....

It DOES appear ours are notched to the left according to pics I’m seeing. Its illegal to buy it just as much as it is to sell. Next time point it out to management that its illegal to sell notched lobsters as they are a protected species. Fishermen might ignore the rules, but corporations wont if they get reported for buying and selling a protected species.

My favorite part is learning about the lobsters but a very close second is seeing you throw them back with a snack in their claw.
