    I used it 6 times since bleaching my hair; the hair is clearly stronger, I’m shedding fewer hair in the shower, almost no breakage anymore. However, the hair DOES NOT feel softer, and that’s a shame because it makes you doubt it works.

      Hi Priscila, that’s great news, glad you’ve noticed a difference in strength, wahoo! There are some softening properties in the leave in mask - some hair types may need additional leave in’s on top of the mask (just wait 4 mins) - or you could use treatments in between your K18 usage….

    Not sure if you'll see this, but my hair is bleached all over. I'm a natural level 5 and it has been bleached to level 9 for about 2-2,5 years. Also dyed it light brown about 6 months after it got really blonde and then that just slid out of my hair (thankfully, as I hated my great idea...). I've been using Olaplex for years and then K18 for about a year (+ Olaplex, Redken proteine, oils and so on). So my hair looked good and my hairstylist is always happy (we like her happy). Last week we just bleached 5 roots + the reste of it down to level 10 and it didn't fall off!!! She didn't think it would, but I held my breath a bit. So IMHO K18 is a miracle worker. I'll be going in doing a set of 4 washes now and then see if I can go to maintenance, but I'm really impressed that my hair is still looking good, not falling off and looks like it will stay that way.
    Q: My hairstylist uses Olaplex in the mix when she bleaches my hair. Do you think K18 would be even better, or just continue on with the routine as it has been working?

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  Рік тому +1

      Hi Linn, thanks for watching…I see (and reply to) all the comments left.
      Sounds like you have fabulous hair! The reason it’s strong is because you look after it and your hairstylist obviously does a great job…GO YOU 2!
      If that’s what your hairstylist prefers, that’s cool. K18 repairs the hair in a different way to any other bond builders - the product in the line for pro use *before* (it’s not an additive) is the Molecular Mist.

Surely some ingredient acts as an allergen, and from a research done it seems to be the fault of: Butylphenyl Methylpropional and I have the same reaction with the n. 2. I am using K18 for about 2 months and I have the both versions. I am a 10 lvl ash beige blonde and I can tell that is doing an amazing job in healing the damaged hair (even the parts that looks so fried). I've noticed significantly result after 4 - 5 applications. Therefor, my question is and also a curiosity, if I use Olaplex nr 3 before shampooing my hair, then wash it and then I apply the K18 mask, there is a chance that this can influence the penetration of k18 into the hair cortex? From my knowledge, in general, K18 is blocked by SLSs and Olaplex nr3./ Nr.2 doesn't contains SLS.
    The both products, k18 and Olaplex, are very good products, especially for bleached hair. And as I've googled, I've noticed they are slightly different in the way they target the structure of the hair. There for I was thinking to combine this two amazing products. Olaplex before shampooing and k18 as a leave-in treatment.

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  2 роки тому

      Hi there. You really don’t need to - and the mist is designed for use PRE chemical service…it’s the same peptides, just a different “delivery system” to get them into the cortex of the hair. If you want more strengthening after shampooing, apply the mask, wait 4 mins…rinse, apply again…leave in. That said, in my opinion, you’re better off just sticking with the guidelines and using it consecutively for a while then maintaining it.

    Hello Craig, my hairdresser used this on my hair this past week. Was skeptical because of the alcohol content but went on K18 website to read about the need for it it to deliver the peptides...but I still am not sure how to use this? As we start to use it less does that mean we go back to using our traditional conditioners after we have used the mask for a couple of months? So as we start to use it less do we start to go back to our regular conditioners? Just found your channel...well done!🇨🇦

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Jennifer. Thanks for your questions and for watching. You’re correct about the alcohol - it’s a “fatty” alcohol that helps deliver the peptide deep into the cortex (hairs main component) and it doesn’t do any damage. Use the mask consecutively (this builds the molecule up in the hair for max benefits) for 4-6 shampoos - then use it every third shampoo as maintenance. When you’re not using the leave in mask you can use whatever you prefer to condition with - when using the leave in, forgo conditioner and just shampoo…no need to use a clarifying product, your general shampoo is sufficient. As with anything new it can seem complicated but it really is that simple. Thanks for the kind words.

And thanks for clarifying...I wanted to purchase this but have two full bottles of pricey conditioner in my shower and didn't want to let them go...nice to know I can still use them in future...after couples months will maybe alternate. And yes...was familiar with the fatty alcohols but it also contains the denant and isopropyl which turned me off initially but now I understand they are used as a delivery system for the peptides. Looking forward to checking out your Instagram!❤

The mask should be aplied to clean hair with no conditioner so it can penetrate, that's why I am wondering about the mist? Because of course before the bleaching service we do not wash the clients hair that is why I am wondering. Thank you so much for your work and great videos.

      Hi there, thanks for watching, your kind words and this great question. If the client uses a lot of heavy oil based styling products it would be best to shampoo the hair (avoiding too much scalp massage) before bleaching - if it’s a regular client you could always ask them to come along with minimal product before the appointment. Minimal product will not stop the mist from working - it’s mildly alkaline, so as long as the hair is lightly sprayed with water before application, the peptide will penetrate.

    Hi Craig, I have waist length fine wavy bleached hair, been an Olaplex no 3 user for around two years, I use the whole line actually...it has done wonders for my hair, I have no split ends, breakage or damage, I use the Dyson airwrap for styling after my weekly hair wash and flat iron on my fringe, the only thing I do notice is my hair being a little dry on my ends, that's why I want to give K18 a try.
    I have a few questions I hope you can help me clear out before I actually try K18. I only wash my hair once a week and I use Olaplex purple shampoo to tone my hair, one week on one week off, how do I use it while using K18? Specially during the first 6 treatments.
    I understand that the way of using K18 is first use it 6 times continuously then every 3rd to 4rd wash for maintenance but am I gonna have to use it for life? Or can I just use it more sparingly after, like once every two months or so? What happens if I suddenly stop using it after the 6 treatments and few maintenance uses?

      The K18 peptide build up in the hair, hence why you use it consecutively to begin with. Colouring, heat, general wear and tear take their toll on your hair, that’s why you have to keep strength in check by using the mask as part of your ongoing routine.
      Think of it like you would with a facial serum - you only get the benefits whilst you’re using it…but if you stop suddenly, your skin won’t deteriorate over night, it’s the same with K18. My bleach out clients use the mask every wash - as their first step after shampooing. You clearly are great at looking after your hair, you know what you’re doing, so don’t over think it - if you feel your hair needs the mask, use it…there really are no hard and fast “rules” with it.

    my question is how important is it that i don’t use conditioner before applying? is there certain ingredients that it can’t penetrate through? i use all curly girl approved conditioners, so they do not have silicones, but there is a lot of oils and maybe glycerin etc.
    i’m not a professional, but i managed to get ahold of the professional grade K18 products, because after home bleaching to white/silver, my hair *desperately* needs the repair.
    right now, i cannot put shampoo into my hair and then just leave it freshly washed with no conditioner. it would be sooo dry and totally unmanageable. i don’t think i’d be able to run the product through with my fingers without help from my conditioner and leave-in.
    can i try it over conditioners for the first treatment or two, and then, as it gets healthier & more manageable, move on to no conditioner?
    i don’t even really shampoo my hair regularly. 😅 it is wavy texture, waist-length, and bleached bright white. it doesn’t need any oil-stripping. quite the opposite.

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  2 роки тому +2

      Hi there, thanks for watching. It’s most important that you don’t condition before K18 leave in mask - you’re correct, the peptides won’t penetrate and repair. You could gently work in as best you can - wait 4 minutes - then continue with your routine. I have clients who do just this, applying conditioner over the top after 4 minutes…wait for that to work…then rinse out. You don’t need to leave the mask in for it to repair, it just needs the 4 minutes. I know there’s definitely some curly haired content on the K18 Instagram - and my other K18 videos go into why you shouldn’t condition before the mask.

    K18 is 'the new olaplex', the new "hair trend" on social media, the latest hair product with a ridiculously expensive price tag. These brands are notoriously known to fool potential customers into thinking that just because something costs so much it will do 'magic'. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not saying k18 does not work, I just mean that none of the ingredients ( yeah! Even the "magical" peptide can be found in other products with a much lower price) justifies that absurd price. If you really want to repair chemically damaged hair, you should try Aphogee 2Step Treatment, so effective that you just need to use it every 4-6 months. It repairs the long polypeptide chains that make up most the hair structure, and it does so by adding protein to the hair.

So, I don’t work for K18 and my video wasn’t sponsored content - I can only speak from my experience with clients in salon…I switched over from another product 18 months ago and I’ve been getting the most incredible results. For me it’s really about MAX results…in minimum time, K18 has cut down process timing whilst really giving my clients long, strong hair and maintaining their colour. FYI - the K18 peptide is patented, so isn’t in any other product. At the end of the day if you love something else, that’s GREAT! I haven’t used the treatment you mention so I can’t comment…

I was using olaplex for a year and I never got any satisfactory results ( no wonder, as olaplex just "repairs" disulphide bonds, which make up just a small part of the hair's structure. On the other hand, k18 makes much more sense to me since it "fixes" the polypeptide keratin chains...) First time I used Aphogee, the breakage was reduced to small zero... You brush the hair after you apply the mask? I throughly you were not supposed to do anything to the hair, even brush it, for 4 minutes?? 🤔
    Also, if I am doing stand alone treatments on my clients that are brand new to k18, do I need to continue to do treatments on them if they are taking the mask home? Or is it pointless?
    The only thing that kind of stinks is I feel like I’m losing out on possible money then for them to come in for treatments. Trying to figure all of this out lol but of course I want them to take the mask home above anything and keep repairing their hair at home

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  Рік тому

      Hi Danielle, thanks for watching. You can brush/comb the hair directly after applying the mask, you don’t have to wait 4 minutes before doing so - when something is new (and this GOOD) the world generates “myths” regarding usage. As far as ongoing treatments go, it’s a case of if the hair needs them, then go for it. You can’t overuse the line…if you apply it, it’s doing good.

      Hi Ainsley, thanks for watching…I’ve only just seen this. The protein in the Leave in Mask is very minimal - it is there only to “carry” the peptide to the cortex to do its repair. It would be completely impossible to “overload” the hair with protein using K18.

      Hi Mary. Sorry to hear you felt it made your hair dry. You can apply the mask - wait 4 minutes - then apply a “slippier” leave in conditioner over the top. Once the 4 minutes are up the peptides in the line have done their repairing. You could also try using a little more, applying a little at a time.

    50ml for 80euro is just a joke tbh
    I have very very long bleached to a level 10 1 meter long hair , if I buy this I’ll maybe get 2 uses of 3 with good luck
    Because everyone is accepting this price they can ask for it and it makes me angry because maybe if u have super short hair it’s afforded but for girls with very long hair just ain’t the case we are being discriminated again

    • @theworldofcraig
      @theworldofcraig  2 роки тому +2

      Hi there, thanks for watching. You wouldn’t need to to use more than 4 pumps on longer length hair to get the best results and as it’s a leave-in product, a little goes a long way, it’s super concentrated. Once you’ve used it consecutively 4/5 times, you can slot it into your routine, using it every 3 shampoos. The 50ml retail size is lasting my longer haired bleach out clients 6/7 weeks - they repurchase when they come to see me for a top up. They’ve also found after continued use (every 3 shampoos at home) they often don’t need to use it so frequently. We’ve seen the most incredible results since I started using it in salon last April…

      I have very long hair and understand that having beautiful long hair can be expensive. It isn't discrimination, it's just how it is. Long hair uses more product and more hair equals more time and money at the salon. It's just how it is if you choose to maintain long hair. Also, I've had the same bottle of K18 for over 3 months now and haven't used it all and have seen amazing results. I use it as directed and it takes 2 pumps to saturate my waist-length thick hair. The more you use it the less you need because it's actively smoothing and repairing your hair. It's a solid investment IMO.
