Which Final Trailer Was Better? (Tears of the Kingdom OR Breath of the Wild)

- Last weeks final trailer for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom was amazing. It really got be thinking about was it better then the epic final trailer for Zelda Breath of the wild. Both trailers were 10 out of 10s in my eyes. But one has to be my favorite. So in this video I give my opinion about when you put the final trailer for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom VS Zelda Breath of the Wild which one comes out on top and is best. When I look at the design and pacing of the trailers themselves, I would definitely say the BotW trailer is the better one
I think what makes the TotK trailer seem so good is more about the game having more things to show, rather than the trailer itself
Both of them are still masterpieces in their own right, though

I cry literally every time I watch the breath of the wild trailer. No exception whatsoever and it's been out for 6 years. Same thing with the tears of the kingdom trailer except for it's only been out for a week. Ask me again in 6 years lol

It's hard to tell until the game comes out. This trailer could be better than the game but at the same time, the game could just be that much better
Hmmmm. Maybe in like a year we will be able to really give an opinion after we played it
I’m biased ngl that’s for certain reasons. But putting biases aside, I’m calling TotK. Realising that A we’ve seen this world, graphics, lot of characters already, it’s a near impossible mission to revive that feeling you had seeing this form for the first time. But not only did they do that… they brought back something to me what I haven’t felt since ocarina of time, that weird intense feeling of nostalgia. And the music….. wat the actual fcksht…. What in the name of Hylia was that… I NEVER had a tear in my eye during what trailer, movie or game whatsoever… this hade my head shaking and I felt my eyes turn watery for the first time.. that’s fckn special.
Now why I’m biased. I’ve worked on a project of mine for 5 yrs at the time botw released. I wrote an entire game concept. Story, sub stories, side quests, characters, mapping, items and about 45 min of music (which the whole project started out with). It was a sequel to OoT and MM.
when breath of the wild came out I couldn’t believe how many of my (and this is that moment where folks go like “sure dude..” but fck it) ideas came to pass in this game. Even people who knew what I was working on told me when botw dropped. Tbh it made me hate the game.. and that stung because Zelda was my inspiration source since childhood, but it was so specific I felt like someone did me dirty if you know what I mean..
so I only started playing botw in 2020 and seen the trailer even later than that, because the info I read about the game online just made me pissed off (like my game was ever gonna hit the shelves you know 😂😂) but it was a lot of work I put into it, and some things you could consider coincidence, but when certain based people in my life start saying..”yeah that’s weird man..” Bella start ringing. Ok enough of that, I let go of those grievances and someone bought me botw, couldn’t help but fall in love with it, even tho I was pissed about the yiga (I had a rogue faction of the sheikah, who imprisoned the tribe of the main villain, causing him to become a villain..long story) pissed about the shrines ( I had elemental shrines which functioned as small dungeons in which link could upgrade his sword with the designated element ) pissed about Link losing his memory (in my game links memories were stolen by the villain but through an incident with the villains source of magic, links memories shot throughout Hyrule and functioned as portals to his corrupted memories where you would find the dungeons). Even the way link remembers a memory in botw was the same. Quote: “ ..Link swiftly opens his eyes and gasps”.
Soo botw to me was a very weird, but evt cool experience.
whoever read this I’m sorry for venting 😂 just came out like that and just now realising how much I’ve been writing.. but aaalllll of this aside.

It's very hard to compare them in a critical way as their aims are very different, and the context in which they are shown is dramatically different. I'm sure both would hit very differently if they swapped their particular time and accompanying zeitgeist.
TotK is more exciting and has more hype music, it worked perfectly to hype up everyone including the $70 dlc naysayers so I think it was a power trailer
The BOTW trailer is arguably the greatest video game trailer of all time. Though I do prefer the music in the TOTk trailer (especially the sax).
The saxophone does rock in that trailer

Breath of the wild absolutely hands down. It flows perfectly and tells an amazing story. Tears of the kingdom is just different. The music is superb. It’s not as effective as a trailer.
