@@jerrysprojects7653 I have a 69 250 with a 390 i ended up going with a set of AC delco springs made for a 75-90 chevy C20 i did see craiger co classic vid on the tube good stuff although with a big block i wanted a stiffer spring rate . The C10 springs were 76 i believe wire size and the C20 were a big 84 my factory F250 springs were 66 wire size Drivers side and 69 on passenger side and my passenger side due to the engine bieng offset always sagged on the passenger side and i had valve cover leaks there . Funny i cut 1 coil off the drivers side on the C20 springs and only 3/4 on the passenger side thinking of the weight of the engine didnt even phase those c20 springs i had to go back and re cut the 1/4 to level it out .
@@jerrysprojects7653 yes C10 and and C20 75 -85 they have the same pigtail and similar upper section although the spring rate is stiffer that the moog 8448 and ford explorer spring but they are 13 1/2 to 13 3/4 tall i cut 1 coil off and running the C20 springs with DJM drop beams around 27 1/2 ground to center front fender lip 30" tires
Nice video. I was happy to come across part 2 for the conclusion. You have the twin ibeam setup? If so how is the camber now that everything has settled?
Yes, I have the stock twin i-beam setup. Camber looks pretty good, I have not had an alignment shop look at it, probably just watch the tire wear to see what it does.
Thank you for this. Working on a 79 F250. Question, i noticed you have the 90's model F250 wheels. What lug nut are you using? I bought acorn extended style but stud still seems short.
I love the 79. Yes, the wheels came from a 90 something truck and I had to have the local tire shop order in some lugs for them.. I don't know the brand, I could take a picture of them if that would help.
I took a video of the Lug nuts I am using. Here is a Raw unedited video straight off my phone. Hope it helps you. ua-cam.com/video/86UN_SUdxhA/v-deo.html
Luke, I measured the truck and this is where it sits as of a week ago. Front Right: 29 1/4 inches Front Left: 29 1/2 inches Rear Right: 30 1/4 inches Rear Left: 30 inches The shocks are needing replaced, not sure if that will raise the truck. It might. If you watch my recent videos, you will see that I have put the truck up for sale, so I wont be able to measure the truck again.
I could have cut the stock coils, but worried it would mess up the camber. Supposedly these coils lower it and retain the camber. So I thought win / win.
@@jerrysprojects7653 the camber only changes because the spring’s height is changed. Cutting the coils changes the height just the same as putting shorter springs in.
Thank you for a well done video. I have a 70 f100 that I'm gathering parts for. I'll look for your other videos to see what you did to the rear.
Thanks Darryl. Yes, get that 70 running, its fun to drive around town in these trucks.
Very good vid here. What size tires do you have on the front and the back?
I am running Lt265 /75/16. I bought the tires and wheels from a local tire shop, that just took them off another Ford.
Awesome truck springs came out good 😊
Yes, it worked out pretty good.

Sweet, so C20 springs work as well. Good to know. Thanks for sharing.

That's why you take the bolt from the top and brake line bracket and ease the jack down.. extension and socket with an impact n done
Thank you Krisco. If I do it again, I will know a bit more.
How did you line the truck up afterwards

if you get a bumperjack and jack the body up it will stretch the spring resulting in more room to work
Thank you
What was total drop after driving and are you still satisfied? Have a 78 I need to do this to.

@@jerrysprojects7653 I'll def have a look. Just stumbled across your page yesterday. Thanks for reply.
Did you have any negative camber issues and did you have to get the beams bent to get alignment back in?
Are you living in Boise? I hear Boise state football on your radio in the background.
No, I am in Utah. Boise is nice, been there a few times.
Why not just cut the coils instead of buying new ones? It takes a couple minutes
