@@NirvanaGuitars My experience is that the Fender neck heel is not as wide as the HB pocket. Am I right? So you have a gap either above or bellow the neck pocket side.
When you send a video, it's always on my top priority you are a great Kurt lover as I am... Kurt is so inspiring me as an artist.. and you dude, what's a meavelous job, you help me so much to find Kurt sound, his guitar and everything. Big thank you to you !!!! And don't forget that you make Kurt staying alive in our heart, his energy, his soul... Continue dude 🥰🥰🥰
Hey hi Eric! I hope you read this message because I think it is important, no more than a year ago I found out about your channel and everything you do is incredible, it is incredible what you were capable of and what you are and will be capable of. I want to give you a suggestion for a video, my suggestion is that you make a video explaining and teaching how to play like Kurt Cobain, his techniques, his hand movements and all that. I think you could make the best video on how to play like Kurt Cobain and his techniques. You could also explain in the video your way of composing with the guitar and how his technique changed or improved over the years. I know that you can find videos about this, but you are Eric, the guy from NirvanaGuitars and I know that you are capable of making an incredible video about it, a very detailed and well-produced video. I hope you consider the suggestion and much better if you accept it and decide that you will make a video about it.
Thank you so so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it! I've been asked before to make lesson videos, I've been meaning to get around to it! Thank you for the suggestion 😃
Well, I picked up guitar as a kid because of Kurt and literally only learned by ear and watching his hands. I would suggest trying that too. I didn't believe in taking lessons because I thought it would make me sound like everyone else. You can still hear it in my songs but it's also my own. Godspeed
Absolutely insane guitar tones! The Small Clone pedal really adds that watery, ethereal quality to the sound. Such a distinctive touch with the upgrades! 😃
1:36 Man you gotta try the custom univox used in buenos aires, it sounded amazing and i think you can do a cover of You Know You're Right. Nice tone btw 🔥
I saw your Come As You Are in Melbourne video. It was great but I feel like it needed more twang. Like Kurt picked very close to the bridge or something. I would redo the video now that you have the new pickups. Just to see how it sounds.
Tip: some Tele bodies have a channel under the pickguard that makes the access to the trussroad easier, and you don't need to remove the neck. In case your tele body doesn't have that, you can have it done yourself or by a luthier.
Came back to comment, I was watching the Melbourne, AUS show from January 31, 1992 (my hometown!) and I noticed Kurt uses the Tele in Full Step Down for Lithium and Come As You Are but then it’s back in Standard for D7 and SLTS!
Hey man, do you know any sources that talk much about Nirvana live in 1992 at the Brisbane festival hall? My dad went but doesn't remember much, but from what I've heard, Nirvana had to cut the show short due to Kurt being sick. If you have any sources that go a bit more in depth about this concert that would be amazing! Also beautiful Tele ;)
Hey Eric, I wanted to thank you for your recommendation you gave me about the SD-JB pickups. I'm also trying to create a pedal board for my favorite pedals and while watching your Small clone history video I remembered that I saw a Neo-Clone and a Nano-Clone on amazon. They both seem to be compact remakes of the Small Clone and cheaper options. Right now I'm not sure if i want to blow $100 on the Small clone so I was wondering if you had a recommendation for an alternative. It's also strange how the Neo-Clone has the depth switch but the Nano only has a rate knob. (Keep up the pedal and guitar history vids. It's very cool to see the stories behind the equipment)
haha i also fell in love with a tele, not expecting to love it as much as i did, i had a squire affinity, and ended up buying a tidepool fender player series!
Really great tone!! Love it. I think it would be interesting if you try to recreate the Mark Goodier session tone, I think It's really cool specially in Been A Son.
The Telecaster is fantastic for these Nevermind songs. It would be great if you could also experiment with the Humbucker pickups that Kurt used. I own a modern Telecaster with a Dimarzio Chopper T in the bridge.
The tele definitely sounds nice for clean stuff. Though a bit too harsh with the distortion on. I also noticed you have the bright switch on on your Twin. Maybe consider in turning it off for the next set of videos. Bright switches are great for humbuckers, but single-coils have plenty of brightness on tap that don’t necessarily need them.
It’s crazy to be this early! Your the best UA-camr ever, it makes my day when you upload. also what kinda videos are you thinking of doing in the next couple weeks? I think it would be cool to do a couple compstang videos.
Thank you, your channel is a treasure ! Btw, between the randall and the twin TM, which one does take the pedal better ( especially the drive) ? I've read that the tone master doesn't like distortion pedal but on your videos it sound awesome !
Hey nirvana guitars, please make a video about cheap chorus pedals for nirvana (something like that video where there was a comparison of cheap distortion pedals for In utero sound).
Were there any weird little fit quirks with the Fender neck and the HB body? Also I'm curious, nothing to do with this video but what's the tonal pallet of that Commander back there? They aren't outlandishly pricey for a vintage tube amp, if they sound decent. I've never heard one.
This a public service question not announcement. Does anyone know anything about the photos of Kurt obviously in the In Utero (not recording) era? With a Telecaster but not this one, in what appears to be a studio with his hand on his chin, seemingly pondering a musical choice? I've always been curious. Tip your waiter or waitress. Or content creator with likes 👍🏼
Hey Eric amazing video Was wondering if you would like to collab some day or something Thanks for your awesome videos it brings a smile to my face anytime i see a new upload
I respect your work and appreciate the time you put in but alot of it seems off, I know what you doing and not an exact replica sound you trying to create. I get that but maybe the mic off the amp or something but we have herd closer and more successfull sounds from cheaper pick up.. Anyways keep it up and I will carry on enjoying your content
Every time I see a picture of Kurt with a tele I keep thinking about a Nirvana country album lol😂, good video as always!
telecasters are mired in than just country
aint it a shame
Glad to see the Harley Benton tele body is compatible with the Fender neck
I was a little nervous putting it on, but yes it fit and works!
@@NirvanaGuitars My experience is that the Fender neck heel is not as wide as the HB pocket. Am I right? So you have a gap either above or bellow the neck pocket side.
@@NirvanaGuitars after your review I'm more eager to do this project because I like the sound of the Pacific Rim tour mostly from the Tele sound....
I love how on smells like teen spirit, you play the first F strum and First G# strum upwards just like kurt did
Yes more of the Courtney telecaster!!
This guitar is about to be a staple of the channel 😉
Yes my dream guitar will be used more!! I mean tele’s are already good workhorses.
@@NirvanaGuitars :(
I don’t know why just everyone at one point just falls in love with the tele.
And this is how he discovered the magic of a Tele and never looked back! :D Happened to me too!
teles are incredible
As a tele player myself, and potentially Jaguar someday, it's incredible to think that my idol actually played one of these things 🤟🏼🔥🔥
This tele is so cool!love the vids dude!
Thank you! Love this tele a lot 😀
@@NirvanaGuitars don’t blame you dude sounds crisp
Wowza, that combo of the telecaster / DS2 really gives that distortion an interesting rough edge to it. Love it.
All you need for guitar is a tele. Thank you for making this
i love your dedication, i love that tone. we shouldve got more of kurt with a tele. ALSO THE BEARD IS GREAT 🗣️🗣️
I think if Kurt had lived, we might've seen play Teles more since at the end of his life he got that modded Telecaster Custom from Earnie. Thank you!
@@NirvanaGuitars oh yeah for sure, since the fourth album wouldve been different from everything they released, i bet he wouldve used his tele on it

The Stay Away tone was so good! That Telecaster gave it an extra vicious bite.

I wonder what In Utero songs would sounds like on the telecaster
Just finished my Vandalism strat after you inspired me!
Honored to hear that! Hope the build came out great 😃
@@NirvanaGuitars Yup! The soldering was a little bit off so it's kind of quiet in the bridge position but it will make do
its mad that you know exactly what to mod your guitars with
Another bloody great video, I'm really enjoying the Australian tour videos
BRILLIANT video again!
i like how you modded it to be how you like it to sound, instead of using the exact pickups kurt had. just pretty neat
Sounds great, looks great too! The neck was a big upgrade. Pickups sound spot on, too.
Love ur videos bro

Great sound! Now I'm convinced the Tele can play any genre. Small clone really helps too.
one day you should try using a maple neck on teles, it feels so good
You should make what if with the different guitar's! For example: what if kurt used the red epiphone on live and loud besides pats Hagstrom!

What about bleach riffs on the tele??🎸🤟🤟
That guiter gose wall with nevermind riffs

If you ever make videos specifically covering one of Krist's basses, you should hint at it by wearing a big Santa beard.

Just so you know, in Australia we say "Mel-bin" not "Mel-born".

Hey man, what amp are you using?
Maybe he could do a customer version that says Courtney kills
There is no Breed guitar solo.
🖤
hotrails get you closer to his tone!!!
Hot Rails get closer to his stock single coil Telecaster tone?
Jason Everman Bleach Album Cover Telecaster.
Why didn’t you bought the body only
So I could review the entire guitar as it comes from Khristore
try it with hot rails
I already have 2 hot rail guitars, so I'm gonna keep this one with single coil!
day three of asking for you to recreate you know your right tone (supposedly he used a univox and a boss hm3 hyper metal)
