I had two fairly reputable teachers who were both very fond of him and told me that he was supposedly very studious and hard working in Statistics and Engineering respectively. It seems likely that he would have been like that in every class as he was Dux. I believe he played piano originally, and then keytar/keyboard came after a while, but I could be wrong about that. Apparently he was a little bit wild, not poorly behaved but definitely a character, so onstage he isn’t entirely a persona. My guitar teacher worked in the local music shop, it’s pretty small and there isn’t really a big music scene in my town, but they would come in and buy guitar strings as a band a couple of times from what he could remember, and then I think it was around 2004 where they started to take off and so they didn’t really hang around too often, after all it’s not the kind of town with lots of opportunities.
