Thank you :)
Thank you so much for posting this. I was there!!! Josh signed my QOTSA (1st album) cover. I asked when the Kyuss reunion was and he laughed and said "never". Cool guys, amazing access to a band that would blow up 2 years later.
I remember QOTSA were getting “alternative” big around this time. I distinctly remember Dave Grohl hyping the band by saying he was sad he wasn’t invited to play drums on Rated R.

JH: "play something sweet for a sec Brendon, I gotta tune up"
Brendon plays intro to In My Time of Dying
JH: "Yeah... not that though"
fucking lol
lol
I've seen like three shows where Brendon plays that song. Josh is probably sick of it lmao
Diego Noyola Fdz j love it
Gene Troutman was such a great drumer man.
Agree. I still think he was their best drummer. Him and Grohl. Both brought a power to QOTSA no one else has despite them having some really killer drummers.
Y'all are both on crack. Alfredo. Then Grohl. Castillo brought the pain for many years, as well. I would say Troutman was the weakest of the bunch.
Nope.
Alfredo and Grohl were my favorite drummers they have had
he still is
How fucking COOL and raw is this?! BEAUTIFUL 😍
Man, I feel like I comment on this every few years.. but I keep coming back to this version of Hula and Mexicola. From "Hey Nicky, you wanna do Hula?" into that jazzy freestyle section of 'Cola. I love it and this hungover, tight space, tinny recording is old school magic. Thanks for sharing again.
Daaamn, Nick Olivieri is adding quite a bit of intensity on Feel Good Hit of The Summer with those screams, man. :D
Cocaine's a helluva drug
That's the gayest commentary I've seen today
@@nons823 gay? You’re gay? Well get over here already and lets be butt buddies already
Also - I have to say - Scott Reeder is a freaking wizard - watching his mis a crazy and moving experience - but damn if I don't love the shit out of Nick Oliveri - always. This is cool stuff here. Thanks Bob!!!!!
hell yeah, born to hula live! rarer than hens teeth!!!
That song was pretty much a staple of the live set up until about 2001. If I am correct, the last time that song was played live was at the Detour Festival in Los Angeles in 2006 (apparently Chris Goss played it with them live).
You know it’s gonna be a good set when they start with feel good
this is hands down the best set list ive been looking so long for a born to hula live
Regular John. I feel so dirty every time I hear it. In a really great way. Thanks for posting this is an incredible set.
Haha love that !!!!!!
so rare to see born to hula live, this concert is a gem!
This is a sick show. This is why I fell in love with queens and they are my all time favorite band. Ever . Just saying.
Best setlist and best qotsa members at that times. Good times :)
Couldn't be better 🎉
I can't help but to keep this set SO wayyy high up on my Best Of All-Time QOTSA Sets List. I got to see them later on, on the backside of this years East Coast USA Preparation For Explosion open for Ween in Orlando, at Hard Rock or House Of Blues. I have always wanted to hear that miracle of life again, someday.... Hopefully, it will be unearthed one of these days. But, this right here is a prime example of these dudes' just tirelessly fearlessly still playing shows that appear to be set up by themselves, but likely not. While at the same time, Josh is formulating Songs For The Deaf Origins in the back of his mind, slowly, in it's infancy, writing & working out pieces during soundchecks, not at all knowing or anticipating one of the most important, earth shattering records that help change everything, in the early disgustingly lengthy beginning years of the 21st Century.
What were you smoking when you wrote this comment
the best music/ band I've heard in a long time.
Oh OK Mexicola breakdown, I see you...
middle eastern metal jazz
This is the greatest video of QOTSA ever!
Thank you so much. This version of Hula was lost for so long.
Hey! I actually filmed this entire set. Markit aneight recently uploaded a copy of my master. - Great quality - Check it out! - ua-cam.com/video/wU3LvqSRw28/v-deo.html
Holy shit!! Can't believe I wasn't there for this. Love Vintage Vinyl!

Oh my god this is Epic !!!!
Such fat fucking sound at 3:35! My balls exploded. This is GOLD.
How da fuck has this eluded me for the past 4 and a half years!!!! That matters not, I've found it now. Awesome is not the word...
A rare gem.
That bassline on better living through chemistry!!!!
my fave lineup
Best band around, always.
What an awesome set, man.
this is insane
This is so golden.
Is that Herb? ON keyboards? I love that man.
Awesome
Fuck yeah... thanks for this
FUCK YES!!
No one but no one screams like Nick
i think lanegan is better :p
Mikey Shoes is pretty damn good, but I don't think anyone could match Nick's.
Whoa. That's a tough call... Mikey Shoees gets better and better, that kid is fucking talented. The way he screams at the end of urn the With live is none chilling... Nick is fukkin Nick and that's a qualification in and of itself... Lanegan... is a God. I don't think I can choose.
Good comments, I likes screamers - lanegan, nick, micky, Brody.
never really noticed, and am a huge qotsa fan but why are nick's lyrics always so pedo?
27:50 Fucking awesome timing!
What a great show
That is the best live version I have heard of BLTC, amazing....
Cam audio and sounds killer!!!
51:00 rarest thing, josh playing better living solo as the original goodness version lol
That’s how you fn Rock
I'm hypnotized
Thank God for Troy!
15 fuckin years ago man. Isnane.
DYNAMITE!!!!👏👏👏
Awesome!
*** o.O yeah !
That drummer is good. Josh is s badass. On guitar. And songwriting .
Born to Hula shouldn't be a B-side
If only wow just wow
I bet that was great. Loud as shit. You don’t hear volume like that much anymore . Noise ordinances
how did they get coaxed into doing this particular gig? lol
a record shop just simply isn't the place for a qotsa show.
(Although i'm sure it was still absolutely fucking awesome to be there for it.. just sayin')
They’ve had gigs at multiple record shops, and even a Best Buy. I doubt they need “coaxing”, they’ll play anywhere the fans will show up.
Who wants some rump roast?
заебись!
Was Lanagan in rehab at this time or just not in rhe band yet?
not in band yet
wheres Troy??????????????
+Alexandre Righi He joined the band in 2002
+James Root #4 thx!
Alexandre Righi you're welcome
this eminem sure knows how to rock
Hey! I actually filmed this entire set. Markit aneight recently uploaded a copy of my master. - Great quality - Check it out! - ua-cam.com/video/wU3LvqSRw28/v-deo.html
has nothing younger?
This gig could've had more people tbh
However much of a jerk Nick may have been or however tense it got between him and Josh, when he left it changed the band for the worse imo. He added just the right amount of edge and weirdness XD
I might be the only person to like this comment from you. Two clashing egos and lots of drugs make for tense band break ups, sometimes to a fault.
After Nick had to leave the band everything went down.
Brendon was terrible...and the whole band knew it.
Alright, Brendon.
probably blew his throat out on feel good hit of the summer.
Is that the ginger one?
He did nothing the whole tune
He wasn’t even terrible, he just seemed like a bit of a moron. He was fine at playing guitar but would just do stupid stupid shit like not turn his gain channel on playing the leads in tension head. Prime example of that blunder, the infamous 2001 Rock am Ring performance. When he wasn’t doing moronic shit like that he was fine.
Wow! troy is not got his suit on??? meant to be the smartest lookin band member in the world
Troy wasn't a part of the band yet here
A little led Zeppelin
