Oh man this is such a nostalgic video for me. I remember I got OBSESSED with gameboy games and gameboy consoles in middle school around the time this video came out and I was watching these videos nonstop to learn all about it
I was so excited when I got my GBC in the mail... and I'm 14. I also have an Original Game Boy and a GBA SP. I may have newer systems, but I love the older ones as well.
I remember getting this and Super Mario Deluxe for my 9th birthday. One of my best childhood memories. I think I got Pokémon Blue shortly after and I can recall going from being completely confused by the game to completely obsessed. My brother had the original gameboy and Pokémon Red and playing those games was pretty much the only thing we ever bonded over.
I never had the gameboy color but I did have a gameboy pocket and the gameboy camera and the printer. I had good times with the camera and printer. Then a few years later I got the original gba. Those were the hand held videogame days

The AGS model doesn't matter that much dude, the 001 model is better to see outside, 101 is "clearer" but dude I would go with 001 model, they're cheaper and work just as fine.

5:08 I read once that if you have a GBA SP and charge it with a cartrige pluged to the console the battery of the cartridge charges as well, never tested tough, thankfully none of my GBA or GBC games have dead batteries after all these years.
I think there's some truth to it, as I recently found out my old Gold cart's battery finally kicked the bucket. Started a new game to confirm and yup, the battery was dead, however, it would save. I thought this was odd so i turned the GBA SP off and back on and the save I just made was there! started it up and yup, it was that save I just made anew. However, when I took the cart out of the system and put it back in, when started up, the save had vanished. So it seems so long as you keep it in the system [forever lol], your save is safe..
So many memories came rushing back to me when i saw this video. Pokemon and other games such as Castlevania, Mario Brothers, and Metroid changed my life. Im going to collect all the Pokemon Versions and all the Game Boys and Accessories so that one day my children can enjoy what made me the happiest child.

OMG this is awesome! When I was a kid we always used the Game Boy Camera to make short movies - we just took as many pictures as possible and then held the 'next picture button' to animate it :D

I was at a garage sale looking for old game systems. I was about yo leave this garage sale then a little boy like 7 years old found a gameboy colour in a pokemon carrying case with games. He wanted it. He begged his parents if he could get it. I hovered around to see if he was going to get it. His parents ended up saying no. I snatched it up soon as he set it back down. Bought it and walked past them in there car. I bet the poor kid felt so sad wen he saw me walking away with it. I'm so evil lol.

It made me just ponder and made me realize that is why I love gaming... My GBC is one of the best aged clear purple ones I've seen in a long while...

i had the transparent one when i was a kid and for my birthday last year i got the berry and turquoise colors with super mario bros deluxe game. i love the gameboy color. it's my favorite out of all the nintendo platforms.
I really like the "bubblegum" color on the Gameboy with the white buttons and how the screen glows, I'll need to get a Gameboy Color like that someday.

I just got an Atomic Purple GBC from Goodwill for $16!
Bought one at my goodwill for 3 dollars, and it came with crystal, but the battery was dead, I replaced it and it's good as new
