The Citizens United decision happened in large part because the FEC lawyers pointed to parts of the law that they reasonably interpreted gave them the power to ban any speech. When pressed Deputy Solicitor General Malcolm L. Stewart (representing the FEC) said they had the power to ban books that had a political message. I used to think that by bringing this up was the easiest way to win an argument against someone advocating overturning the decision. I'm now disheartened by the amount of people who double down because they really believe the government should be in control of speech and media. In 2008, Obama bought 30 minutes of network airtime on NBC, CBS, Fox, Univision, MSNBC, BET and TV One to run one long commercial for his campaign. There is no one less qualified to comment on campaign finance unless he explains and apologizes specifically for what he did.

You'd rather have a system where, during the election, you can't ask a candidate who donated the 5 or 10 billion to their SuperPAC ? How about Reagan's quote. Was America better in 1989 than 1981? The answer is no.
No, you can’t regulate speech.
it's not about regulating speech it's about stopping corps from giving money to campaigns...the federal government should be giving a fixed amount of money to all candidates per election that way noone would be able to outspend another and the same amount of ads should be allotted to evey candidate so no one would be given an unfair advantage due to being able to have more ads than any other
The Great Divider just told us what is right and what is wrong. It must be true, he states his opinions like they are well known and highly regarded facts. He would Never lie!
Clap Sheep! CLAP!
How about you comment on what he said that you disagree with instead of the typical, "I'm not supposed to like Obama, so he must be evil or wrong"
@another person, you are the problem, not any politician because you parrot from your bubble. Step out and enlighten yourself. Join in the 21st Century for improving all US citizens lives.
