I am old enough to remember Kennedy. I remember how inspired I was as a child. No one in politics has inspired me since then...until now at 57.

After listening to this speech yesterday, I was left with an incredible feeling of unity for my fellow Americans, much as I did after 9/11. I am an American Black woman and my hope (also my name: Hope) is that we can lift each other up and truly understand that EVERY Americans' success ensures America's success. I am so tired of the racial divide in our country. It is time to talk, to listen, to understand, to respect and to move on...together. We are ONE. And I love ALL of my fellow Americans.

I'm a Brazilian, so lets say I'm writing as just an spectator. I'm so profoundly and impressed with Barack Obama that I wish I could vote for him. His speeches are inspirational and the idea of having him leading America is a strong sign of new times and prosperity, in the US and around the World. As an Human being, I'm proud to be witnessing this election. Andre

Obama , I am from India . I am very proud of you and America needs a person like you as President. The speech was pretty stunning . In addition to condeming the Pastors words the way you encourge your countrymen to Empathize with the "Black Experience" was really Amazing !! God bless you and my Prayers are with you . God Bless the World !

I love Hillary. I respect McCain. And I AM VOTING OBAMA!!! This speech is a piece of art. Masterfully written and delivered. It's fierce, and graceful. Dignify and humble. I am deeply moved listening to this speech. My heart feels touched, and my spirit feels inspired. Yes, these are just words, AND these are words to inspire, and call forth honesty, dignity, and humanity in all of us. I am going to make a donation, if anything for the quality of this masterful piece of art.

Whenever I think I'm too jaded to be moved, Barack gives another speech that gives me chills and makes me want to cry. He is a courageous man of conviction. He is truthful and honest and sincere. And he represents the best in all of us. ALL of us. I don't know that any one person can turn things around, but if anyone can, he can. God I hope he wins.

His political courage is on par with his outstanding eloquence. He could have skirted the issue, but he dives right in and says things no other national politician has had the courage to say - and this in the middle of a political campaign. He is a miracle for this country.

For the first time in U.S history , the question of race and its consequences in the non perfection has made a brilliant entrance in the Election Process. I sincerely hope that Obama will win . Not because he is african american but cause never would the message be more clear that America has decided to write a brand new page of its history . To my point of view the election of Obama as President of united States would definitly be the real beginning of the 21th Century as a new era

What a blessing we have as Americans in this election: To finally say "No" to the politics of division, distortion, distraction, and fear -- to say "Yes" to the policies of unity, solution, truth, and hope. I look forward to doing my part to help President Obama create the more perfect union he so beautifully describes in this speech.

In America, when you are less than an ounce of African descent, you are considered Black and treated accordingly (and differently). That's just how it is. Trust me....I know. I'm excited about his potential to be our next president. If he wins, he will be the first Black president in history, and it's definitely important to me, being an African American myself. It simply means progress & wonderful change. Don't take it offensively, okay? It,in no way means that any race is superior to another.

I agree with you, this man has great qualities and you feel you can trust him without being disappointed later. After eight years with Bush, Obama is the man America needs. The whole world is looking at the US, and we hope these eight years will become a bad souvenir very soon. Obama has the right vision of America, and the right answers for the American issues.

Masterful, messianic, and professorial. A speech so powerful, I am rendered speechless.
It should now be apparent to any fence sitting, equivocating voter who the most contemplative, diplomatic, and unifying candidate is.
The future is now, and only through togetherness will it be realized -- by releasing fear's grip and extending an open hand (heart and mind) to our neighbors, we shall create "a more perfect union."
    Tremendous.
    Thank you. Mr. Obama.

"Barack is the first candidate in my lifetime to strip some of this b.s. away and I just hope we don't blow this chance. Man, if we miss this opportunity, we don't deserve it." - Win Butler (The Arcade Fire)
I don't know how many times in the past I've heard people mention they want a president like Obama, only to retract their statement for an illegitimate reason. Win Butler reminds us all that Obama exemplifies what we are all looking for, and it would be a tragedy to blow this oppurtunity

I am so thankful that finally a presidential candidate respects the intelligence of the voter enough to address so many of our country's serious, complex issues so directly and so eloquently. • @kittercat

That was amazing. I'm so glad he took the time to address this issue. As a white woman I was very offended when people would look at the vote as a skin color- and then when I voiced mine? that I was simply a white woman that was trying to fit into the diverse crowd. It frustrates me deeply to see people that believe we simply disregard the nation and focus only on who is what, what the media says someone else does, instead of what will and what NEEDS to be done. That's why I voted for Obama.

I was so impressed with Barack, once again. He was extremely eloquent. In fact, he was respectful and patient in explaining what shouldn't have needed explaining. I think he was hurt, but he didn't lash out. In a very gentle way, he reminded me of the old adage that a diplomat is someone who can tell you to go to hell and make you look forward to the trip. This is my president and I am looking forward to the trip.

Is he the person we need to lead this country? Is he the 21st century "warrior" we need? Someone who will fight the wars we are currently fighting overseas, not the one in Iraq, but the wars we are fighting right here in America. I don't know.
What I do know is his remarks and ideas should make you think critically.

This is my favorite speech too! Love him or hate him, Obama has a gift for bringing people together of all races together. Maybe is because of his unique background! So when he trys to bring that same sense of togetherness on both sides in Congress, they block every agenda he proposes. & Democrats who are complaining that he hasn't done enough wonders why? You're not gonna get 99% of what you want with just 2 1/2 years of Obama being president! Obama has to fix 8 years of Bushes mistakes anyway

Barack has challenged us to step up and deal with the issue. He had the courage to do so and expressed his faith in the "goodness" of the American people. When was the last time we heard a politician give such an honest statement. Usually they say whatever the audience wants to hear at the moment, thats why he is so refreshing and charismatic. Go to the Trinity website and hear Wright's entire sermon...see how the media is distorting his message. Thank God for Obama and Jeri Wright.

A politician would have just said enough to distance himself from the Rev. Wright's comments and hope the entire controversy would just fade away like yesterday's news...Barack came through with a conversation from the heart that moved everyone but the Karl Roves among us. Not motivated by political expediency, he took all of us to another level with his vision and candor. He had my vote before-now I'll have to vote for him twice!

If Obama wins it should be because of this speech and speeches like it. It's refreshing to see such an upfront and intelligent politician.

When Sen. Obama's words, clearly the greatest speech given in this 21st century, are taught in the classrooms of the future, how do you think his presidential opponents will be remembered?

Fal I couldn't have said it any better myself. What I find great about this speech and about how he approached this tough situations is beyond phenomenal. He quite possibly is the first politician I have seen that didn't denounce this man as a person but talked about as a friend and family which is touching imo.
It's like you'r family you may not agree on everything said and done but denying them cause their ideals and avoiding their existance there of is nothing short of heartless Obama 08!

I think Obama can bring peace to our country and spread it to the world. Equality for all.

I listened to this speech in its entirety and was ultimately touched. This is the most sincere and thoughtful speech addressing THE fundamental issue in this country. A country that I, as an immigrant, admired and loved since the first time I landed on its land. A country that in its short history gave the world great minds like Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, etc. But, disturbingly, also George W. Bush. Let's hope this is the beginning for marching toward "A More Perfect Union."

You are the reason why I have decided to vote for the first time in my life. Go Obama. You are our only hope.
