Mapex tenors with scoops. Scoliosis
Nit to mention Mapex didn't send stand for the first week of camp so it was all harnesses. Rookie year for me. Came home from camp that weekend looking like a crumpled piece of paper.

Of course! MANY people who have never marched drum corps before are completely capable of making top-tier corps lines. There was a bass player in this video who was 16, if I am not mistaken.
There have also been people who have never marched and have made corps at the age of 21-22 (age-out age).
You just have to be sure to prove to the staff and instructors that you are capable of the corps' demands, as well as being able to show that you can make a ton of progress in little time.

One of the baritone players from this year is my drum major
Well my instructor made it on the Blue Knight's tenor line in 2011 his first year. And he had no drum corp experience before that. Just high school marching. So I'm guessing it should be the similar with snares.
Its just the drum is tall the height of the actual rim is to a good playing position.

He was one of our techs during my time at Louisiana Stars. He's still with them. Great guy and great teacher.

what is up with some of these corps who march mapex drums use yamaha harnesses?
all the snares are the same height so he has a hard time cuz hes like 6'4'

Lol sucks to be either really tall or really short, they get the drums to be roughly the same height so short people's drums have to come up and tall peoples usually have to go down!

Is it realistic to make this corps on snare without any drum corps experience? Please don't give me the "anything is possible" speech. If this corps doesn't usually take newbies then where is a good place to start?

that what i was saying! its weird as fuck and they must be a bitch to carry considering mapex are already crazy heavy.. now its a full drum. damn.. it doesnt even sound that different.
