    I appreciate the background info on humans. Not the usual "We are the core of the Federation/Alliance/Empire/whatever"

    The more previews I see, the more curious I get about the Starfinder setting/background. I don't know much about Golarion, but I like the idea of it disappearing.

    My group has the pdfs, and we got together and went over some rules, some races, classes, and made a few toons. This system is looking good so far. More options than D&D, yet, not as many as Pathfinder. Feels just right so far.

    I'm currently putting together a human soldier. At this rate I'll have 5 feats by level 4, something that other races or classes could only dream of.

    Veskarium: Remember, humans are not to be trusted whatsoever
    Humans: Never before have I been so offended by something I 100% agree with

    Some players new to RPG's might be intimidated or shy and therefore playing a human is always a safe choice. There is nothing wrong with this. On the other hand, many players wish to explore races other than human, for obvious reasons. I respect the games that give strong incentives to play humans (bonuses to ANY stat, extra skills, and bonus feats).
    After all, us rascally humans always seem to overcome impossible odds and the game should reflect that!

    It's probably worth noting that humans are the dominate species in the galaxy for the most part, with also the super advanced Azlanti empire knocking on the fringes of pact world space. (the azlant are apparently a lost-golarion sect of humans that are so powerful and organized the Veskarium tactic is just to avoid them when possible.)

    So just as a hypothetical question: How would you, Cody (or anyone else who feels like answering), build a sort of brother-sister team? Both humans, but one (for example the brother) is more of an intellectual, technological type of character who is good with machines/computers/any similar topic and the other (sister as an example) is more of the action oriented character and prefers to get things done over thinking about them too much.
    Again, this is hypothetical, but if I can get a book and find a group, I would probably be interested in a human male mechanic or technomancer (Personally want to avoid the temptation of building a sniper character that I feel Soldier and operative can do well).

      Go pick up the first Dragonlance book for an idea on this.

      I was thinking more crunch/mechanics-wise. Like what class, ability score spread, etc. they would use. That sort of thing.
      Though, if my research is correct (i may just read that book if I get time), then I have an idea of what you are talking about.

      (For the sake of simplicity, I chose to refer to "the tech nerd sibling" as "the brother," and "the action-oriented sibling" as "the sister," since you expressed interest in the brother being the tech nerd)
      Personally, I like the idea of the sister being an Envoy, where she gets things done less with her fists and her guns, and more with her words and her actions. Though, I imagine that's not what you want to go for.
      I would say that the brother is clearly suited to the Technomancer or the Mechanic, as you said.
      The sister would probably be either a Soldier or Solarion, as I understand the concept you're going for.
      I would want to build them with the same theme, but most would probably build them with different themes.
      (this is probably a little late, but whatever)

    Does anyone know if there will be any Starfinder on any online RPG site?

    • @ARSP333
      @ARSP333 7 років тому +1

      Paizo is already selling the PDF. I don't think it'll be long before you can find games for it on Roll 20.

      Yeah I meant like roll 20 or something. I already purchased my copy of the book and am looking for people to play with.

      I am waiting for the Starfinder sheets to be built out in roll20 before I start looking for games for it, since having those coded sheets is SO nice.

    I've been enjoying the series thus far covering the core races for the game.
    I am a little disappointed that time was spent to cover humans, which appear to be the same as they are in Pathfinder (same bonuses, good at every class).
    More so when the series seems to be on a one video release a day schedule.
    I hope, that due to the shortness of this video, we might see another video covering a different core race released later today.

      @Taking20  7 років тому +3

      DHS60521 the schedule is not 1 video a day, it's 2 a day. You'll get Envoy here in a few hours.

      Levi Paladin right? Lol
      But you have to understand new players might want to spend 5-6 minutes talking about a bit if Humans background in Starfinder.

    people really like to call humans generic and most RPGs but I think the big thing you're missing is that when it comes down to it it's always humans that defeat the big bad and it's always humans that build the cities and invent the technology like it or not humans are the racial main character of all RPGs

  • @Agent29416
    @Agent29416 7 років тому +1

    I am really tired of humans I get that they have there uses but most people that i play with only play them for the bonus feat. They aren't as bad in path then in 5e because you get a butt loud of feets in path.

      As a DM I always find it funny when people do this at my table. The one thing that not a lot of people realise is that despite being numerous Humans are the odd ones out as far as not having access to Dark Vision. I use this against Human PCs all the time. I mean why would other humanoids not use the cover of night if they can see? Want to sneak up on a camp at night? Well as a human you can't see so you need a light source to close the distance. The enemies with Dark Vision are going to notice that a hundred feet off.

      Honestly, it's just another character to play. I really don't chastise other players for their choice. There are tons of cool races just in the core rule book to choose from so I haven't played human in this system, but I wouldn't hold it against them.
