I don't think there's a Pendle in Switzerland.. 😉 Since this one, they've changed singers and a guitarist. Their latest is Circle Of Five. It's on Napalm Records' YT channel. 🤘

This is a rockin tune, very early in their career. Just getting better with every release, but terrific talent all round.

I don't remember if I asked . . . have you heard *The Warning* ? They are 3 sisters from Mexico, now 20, 18, and 15 years old. Their cover of Metallica’s Enter Sandman went viral in 2014 (21+ million views). They have an EP and 2 indie albums out and just signed a 5-record deal with Lava/Republic. This is Sinister Smiles, from their Queen of the Murder Scene concept album, a girl’s descent into murder and madness: ua-cam.com/video/Lh2eY0pe9X0/v-deo.html

Fitting it with Ladies Week, the proposed J-Rock week, and trying out different genres, I'll give you The Let's Go's. They are three women from Tokyo who play fun, fast-paced, very energetic punk - hints of The Ramones with their classic 70s punk style. I'll offer two suggestions - "Feel Like It" ua-cam.com/video/Za98RjpKnK8/v-deo.html and Kaiju (Monster) ua-cam.com/video/o7boTXBbGpQ/v-deo.html because the two combined will still only last three minutes! Enjoy. I will readily admit they are a small band, so you are unlikely to have had them suggested by anyone else, but if you have more fun reviewing any other band than these three women, I'll eat my hat.

Check out their other one, Hexenhammer.
But yeah, you're right guys, as a 33 year long metalhead, myself, Burning Witches should probably be considered Traditional Heavy Metal (by today's standards of course). To me, they sound a lot like the 80s metal band Metal Church...which to us metalheads back then thought was thrash metal, but it really wasn't. It was just hard up traditional metal. It can be difficult at times to distinguish between Thrash, Power, Speed, and Traditional Metal. Not because each doesn't have their own distinguishing characteristics, but because many bands now kinda cross pollinate if you will. They'll incorporate certain styles within their songs that are more characteristic of other genres they're not generally thought of being.
Thrash metal has generally been thought of to have a chugging type riff, with a certain drum beat to go along with that.
Power metal has generally been thought to have a galloping beat produced by both the drums and the rhythm and bass guitars. It's pretty distinctive when you hear it.
Speed metal is generally just a really fast traditional metal. DragonForce most definitely classifies as such. But a lesser known Australian band called Wolf is also a speed metal band. And with them, their melodies are very similar to traditional metal, but played a bit faster.
And finally traditional metal is pretty much anything from the 80s onward (apart from hair metal) that can't be classified as thrash or power metal.
