I know it's been a while...but I saw them live in Phoenix on 8 Dec 2023 (with their latest lead guitarist, Courtney Cox). I'm an addicted listener, I've heard most of the tracks from all five albums so far...but you only really understand the power and energy of their performance when you see them live. It is a non-stop attack, mesmerizing. I could have stood there for another hour without noticing the passage of time. Laura's voice is so amazing live, and Jay (their bass player) is just non-stop. I love the whole band, would see them again in a heartbeat.
Lucky. I just discovered them when they toured with KK's Priest earlier this year and looked them up. I've since gone all in on their fantastic catalog. Hope to see them live some day.
@@Satan_Wears_A_Onesie They have so much good stuff. If I get a chance to see them live again, I'm doin' it, no questions asked. If you get the chance, you won't regret it.
I like this Halloween reaction, too, how many of these did you guys make? Burning Witches deliver some solid metal 🤘, and I like both their old and their new stuff.
I like Burning Witches with Seraina, check out SAVE ME, 6 feet underground Burning witches, Lords of War, etc. Sonia Anubis is with a band called, COBRA SPELL, she is with the band on all levels, and even without seeing them I can hear her lead guitar. I've only got to hear 4 songs so far, and it's on their album LOVE VENOM, once you see who she got for the rest of the band. It blew me away, both the members and the heavier metal. Seraina is now with DEAD VENUS, I liked her better with BW, but life is short. Check out Liliac Band, covers like Enter Sandman, Piece of my heart, paranoid, Holy Diver, and any of their originals. All siblings, and Samuel has sold his soul to the devil, with his amazing lead guitar. Check out Sail Away and other solo parts, and for Melody the lead singer, Dio is in her voice and better, and Janis Joplin as well. They are unforgettable, once you have heard what they can do.
I think this band is gonna make it big. They've got a great classic 80s metal sound. That main riff in that Necronomicon song reminded me of an old 80s era thrash band, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Perhaps Exodus maybe, idk...I'd have to hear it again in the older song to pinpoint it. Just so much metal music out now from the last 40 years that it's hard to maintain a memory of how each band sounds. But anyway, I just recently picked up all three of their albums once Hexenhammer was released in the States a couple weeks ago. I waited until I could get all three at the same time. I've listened to the first album so far. And if I had one criticism was that the songs are a bit short. Many only coming in at around 3 minutes give or take 30 seconds. Still some good heavy rockers in there though.
Same here, the Necronomicon riff sounds very familiar, but it is not a copy of something, just 'in the spirit of' 80's thrash metal. I also wish all success to the Witches, and hope they'll make it big! - Anamaria
Mary's Blood is another all female Japanese metal band. They're very similar to Love Bites, but only a 4 piece rather than a 5 piece band. I would say their music is slightly darker than Love Bites, but still fun.
I think doing babymetal would be a change of pace as its the most polarizing among the metal community. The songs i would suggest would be megitsune (the mv), tales of the destinies (audio only), and rondo of nightmare (with mischiefs of god intro live).
Yes! Ran into this bunch aproximately four yeras ago, and got instantly stucked!! Think their music is getting better by the record, but I still struggle with the voice of the new vocalist Laura. The original singer Seraina Telli was the actuall reason I fell for BW. Yes, of course I liked the sound, but Serainas' trademark felt pretty "Halfordish" in the opinion of my ears... so there you go! I think this "trademark" is not least heard / felt in Hexenhammer, which I still consider to be one of their absolute best products (yes, if not their best so far). But, as mentioned in the beginning, I think the ladies improve their sound and songwriting by the album, so I expect to capitulate to Laura as well sometimes in the future... Think (and hope) BW will get big (because they deserve it... period!)... as I´m expecting the new version of Nervosa, another of my favorite orchestras (with exclusively female members), to grow humongous within the frame of extreme Metal. Cheers! 🤘💚
@@MetalAcademix Nervosa began as a Brazilian Thrash trio. But as of this summer they've become an international quartet, delivering (at least according to their first realese "Guided By Evil" from the 13th October) what seems to have become a Thrash Death alloy. So I'm not so sure Nervosa actually would appeal to you... I've developed a particularly soft spot for the band's new drummer, Eleni Nota (from Greece). She may look and appear tiny and timid, but behind the kit she's a veritable Fury... Really entertaining to watch! 🤘💚
@@MetalAcademix well, I think Laura is doing a great job, she fits very well in the band, but in my personal opinion, I prefer Seraina. But now she's doing great music with her very own band, I love Dead Venus.
Half way through the first time hearing hexenhammer I was hooked, new best band in a long time
Seraina or Laura....Witches are queens of heavy metal. Good reaction.
They were way better with Seraina. Her voice is perfection.
Great band in the NWoTHM school :)

Thank you! And cool that you know the band🤘! - Anamaria

One of the best heavy metal band burning witches they can sing .🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤟🤟🤟

Great 80's style, but unlike some other bands playing classic heavy metal, is not just a revival band. It sounds awesome.
You guys have been introducing me to multiple new bands, thanks allot!
So glad that you like the Witches! - Anamaria
You know I'd love to see you guys review/ react to Heathen. A thrash metal band that has some power metal and speed elements.
Kovenant Is a good band that’s all female and a death metal band!

Why Seraina, why dis you leave? 😢

Seraina blows doors on Laura. Especially live. Laura can't hit the high notes like Seraina can. Both of these videos are Seraina singing.
