This version (the cooler one) was from 'Reel to Reel' (sort of an EP) and the album 'The Reels' (1979). The deliberately schmaltzy version was on the album 'Beautiful'. So The Reels were right in the midst of a context of stuff like 'Killing an Arab' (The Cure) and 'Rock Lobster' (The B-52's). The guys are also dressed rather like Devo were at the time. Really innovative New Wave guys from Dubbo!
Dave Mason, I have "the twisted head of fate", my friend... or at least those are the words of Gordon Sharp of *_Cindytalk_* who co-wrote that 1982 _Duran Duran_ hit song called 'Rio', even though he was never credited as a co-writer.... but apart from that, Dave, do you know the stretch of Darlinghurst Road between Oxford Street and 'the Cross' in East Sydney? I'm the guy with the *_twisted head,_* circa 1988, who walked past when you were *_obviously_* on an acid trip... *_remember me... ?!?_* It felt nasty (at the time) to be revealed, let me tell you, my friend... ua-cam.com/video/4a2YH2ZRw2Q/v-deo.html
The vid clips were so gorgeously simple, props and outfits- all that mattered was the music and the mood it created!❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love it!

Respect dude. Nice.
Fuckin' classic
There's a fair bit of Elvis Costello in this. Always liked the Reels. Dubbo's finest along with Andrew Ryan and Les Davidson.
loved the reels
Remind me of early XTC

They remind me of the Wiggles.
Aussie new wave, fun times, always reminded me of bubblegum Ska/ Callipso-ish, a bit Elvis Costello in this , but always their own unique style of pop.
I don't mind, I don't mind at all!
