This young man should be paid at least 1 million dollars for every gun he makes. I am almost never impressed, but this level of craftsmanship from forging, woodwork, all of it, and don't forget, a true artist can visualize the finished product before he ever starts. As a shade tree mechanic, home fix it guy, self taught welder, all around do it myself guy, I have tears in my eyes at this display of excellence!
This is a 'tour de force' demonstration of mutli-craft skills, endurance and dedication. I like the way your custom customer included parts of his family memorabilia into the make.
That touch of making the trigger guard out of an old hammer was really something. A grandfathers tool lives on in another form. Bet ol granddad would be proud. That is a fine rifle. Love that little tool to mark your barrel tennon hole location. Simple but effective. Also fine clean inletting job on the lock recess. Not too much but enough for a good fit. You did a fine job...
Been doing gunsmithing since the early 90s. But I did learn a few things here. Never seen one use a cold chisel to open up a dovetail like that! Overall you have a way with hand tools that definitely puts you in the Master Gunsmith class! Only hand tools can create a gun with soul.
What a superb degree of master craftmanship this man processes. Truly a combined piece of art and function. Anyone would consider this fine rifle the crown jewel of their collection.
I really have to compliment Daniel as a true artisan & craftsman. Thank you for sharing your talent and helping us along. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
That is one more piece of artwork and buddy I would like to be the first to shoot that thing. No matter how beautiful it is it was made to be shot not just stuck on the wall to look at. If you were going to do that there would have been no sense in putting a rifled or a smoothbore Barrel on it. Absolutely amazing!
Is this guy for real. He is truly one of the best master craftsmen that I’ve ever seen. You are truly amazing. You make it look so easy but yet for the average joe it would be beyond comprehension.
I am an engineering technologist with 46 years of experience in electronics and electrics, in addition to woodwork, metal work, foundry work, arc welding, and a fair amount of mason work. In the light of my experience, I can say that you are a master of your work, especially in metal work and wood work. Salute to you from Pakistan.
A Master of Master’s! If I didn’t see this video I’d never believe there’s someone with your talent! I can’t believe my eyes! I’m guessing you were raised by someone as capable. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent! I wish you and your family the very best! God Blessed you!
I enjoyed watching your process. As I fellow builder I always am able to pick up a tip or two from how others do their builds. Funny how we all seem to have that same bin of antlers under benches!
I should have just went ahead and ordered one of these a few years ago. Had the form filled out and was in contact with them but backed out. Beautiful work
I love watching a Craftsmen figure "It Out", build the tooling, whatever, DARN GOOD JOB! Darn nice chunk of timber! Dig on the notching system's simplicity, effectiveness, with the Fearlessness! as you Get After it! Dig the alligator clips! I always chase and cuss! Nice SHOP too! FYI grew Up with a hack Saw just like yours, started as a Sparky "cordless" just like yours, then I got a Lenox! Game Changer. AND I see you "engrave" TOO! I do knott nor wish to. but I Inherited a Strange Tool? Took my about 5 to 7 YEARS! to figure it out. I thought it was a giant mortar pesto kinda thing. "I Have" a a cast Iron Concaved and Convexed engravers vise holder tool for moving your work in 360 rotation with about another 60 axis side to side it's about 120 lbs or more? know anyone who could put her to a good use? I know the buddy who left it to me would like to see it keep working! never built a ground up Stonner? but WHY NOT? did 1st kit at 12 in 77, and DIY my consumables. I was already planning a forge oven for case hardening? Smitty work in in the Family Blood line, I already did a few yrs OJT in Forges and Foundries. Me thinks a 45 same as my capper revolvers?
Lol thanks! I learned the basics from the House brothers of Woodbury Kentucky and the rest from books and lots of trial and error. Thanks for watching and commenting. Daniel
A true artist at work. Complete masterpiece of both metal and wood. I know sentiment has no value, however what would a custom rifle like that be worth?
Watching this process has rekindled an old desire to make my own black powder rifle. Now to just get some land, space, tools and an income to support that hobby and I'm good to go.
ALL I can say is WOW !!!! ( ... well almost ... that's a fine rifle . I don't know if it's a smooth bore , or not . I would like to see Him shoot it through . Nice touch incorporating Customer 's Grandpa ' s hammer & silver. coin )
Man this is a great looking gun! Maybe next time Chad as a 18th century track I'll be able to go and finally get to meet you. If you can make it next time as well. Have a great day!
I loved the video it reminded me of my father and his gunsmithing. Thank you for sharing. My question is how did you work the rifling? What twist did you choose?

Absolutely, you are correct. A true Artesian, some of the best work I have ever seen.
So are you willing to pay him a million dollars per rifle?
If I won the lottery yes, maybe buy 2 and give you 1
@@kevinhardin2941 don't forget me!
If I had it to give him....yep.
The best 45 minutes I've spent in a good while! 👍
It was a pleasure watching you turn wood, steel, and silver into an American tradition!
Thanks so much.
Daniel

Это копия ружья из фильма 1969 года! "Gansmit Williamsburg"
What a superb degree of master craftmanship this man processes.

Absolutely beautiful work of art and just the correct amount of bling to bring out the best in a firearm in my view. I wish it was mine.👍
Wonderful craftsmanship. Here in England it’s not possible for us to own these.
Well done fella
Excellent craftsmanship !!!

That's awesome brother!! Unreal , Good job!!
I enjoyed watching your process. As I fellow builder I always am able to pick up a tip or two from how others do their builds. Funny how we all seem to have that same bin of antlers under benches!

It a beautiful work of art to watch a master gun smith at work.

Beautiful build
Simply beautiful
Just outstanding beautiful work of art thank you for the video
A true artist at work. Complete masterpiece of both metal and wood.
I know sentiment has no value, however what would a custom rifle like that be worth?
This rifle is in the $5k range.
Thanks so much for watching.
Daniel
Amazing, you make a very very fine Job.
Really well Done!!!!!!!
super work ❤❤❤
That was fun to watch.
Watching this process has rekindled an old desire to make my own black powder rifle. Now to just get some land, space, tools and an income to support that hobby and I'm good to go.
Lol nothing to it!
ALL I can say is WOW !!!! ( ... well almost ... that's a fine rifle . I don't know if it's a smooth bore , or not . I would like to see Him shoot it through . Nice touch incorporating Customer 's Grandpa ' s hammer & silver. coin )
Hell ya!! Beautiful flintlock!!
Well done
I'm hooked, THATS WHAT THEY MEANT WHEN THEY SAID HANDMADE. Not a kit. Super impressive.
Beautiful rifle
Very entertaining video.
Thank you!
Outstanding
You are definitely THE MAN! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
That's really nice.
Bad ass Mr Casey!
Gifted craftsmanship! Only thing missing is the shooting. Gotta test it before passing it on, right?
We leave it up to the customer whether they want it unfired or not
Thanks for watching.
Daniel
Very nice WORK
What kind of wood? I wish I had the patience to learn this trade. Outstanding!
Maple especially curly maple is my favorite stock wood and is the wood used in this build. Thanks so much for watching.
Daniel
Beautiful work, I would love to see it in action. Will you be making more firearms and showing them on your Channel?
Yes, I'm thinking about making some flintlock pistols, I'll make sure we show them perform in the next firearm video!
@@CaseyArmsChannel Thanks, I can't wait for the next video.
Just found this video, I used to watch you on TV, now I'm your newest subscriber.
I own a custom Bedford County rifle I've had since 1975 and it does not come near the perfection of this rifle.
Very kind words and much appreciated. Thanks for watching.
Daniel
Wow! Great peice!
I love this wonderfull art...
Veramente un fenomeno...grande invidia per la tua manualità
Brilliant!
Building a rifle from scratch on one video is an amazing feat in itself. Excellent job, but making a trigger guard from a hammer seems extreme to me !
But the customer is always right!
😄 Thanks for watching.
Daniel
Man this is a great looking gun! Maybe next time Chad as a 18th century track I'll be able to go and finally get to meet you. If you can make it next time as well. Have a great day!

Artwork.
Pretty cool little project, but what did you do with the rest of your weekend?
Ha! Freetime? What freetime!?
😂😂
I loved the video it reminded me of my father and his gunsmithing. Thank you for sharing. My question is how did you work the rifling? What twist did you choose?
The twist is 1 in 48. The barrel was already rifled when I began.
Buen trabajo!!!
Art !
Excellent Video , Very Nice ''💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
masterful!
What a Craftsman
but will it shoot?
very cool
Looks like "curly violin back" maple wood?
Отличная работа !
Linda obra de arte parabéns
