All my life I’ve loved cars, trucks, motorcycles and on and other. I love a good restoration with a history lesson to go along with. This was the most interesting, educational, relaxing, humerus builds I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. I only wish I had the money to pay you to restore one of my projects so I could sit back and enjoy the show. You must come up with another project to entertain us with. The world is a brighter place with you three in it. You are Blessed and it shows.Thank you for the smiles and a laugh.
Greetings Yellowgas. Thank you and glad you liked the series. We always have other projects going though the workload of filming has proven too much for our little channel. I don't think I have years left in life to undergo another filmed restoration project. The series 1 Land Rover was over half a decade.
@@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures I have a car and the first time I went through it it took a little over 5 years. Look at your finished product a beautiful machine and you entertained and amused all of us. A great thanks from all of us.
Wilms and myself are in discussions of what adventures to undertake. If I get it licensed for the road we still might trailer it to places to avoid the aggressive freeways and big trucks.
One word: fantasmogorical. You certainly have a great backyard too. Over that 5 years your patience and perseverance have proudly matched this famous script; “Land Rover motto: As slow as possible. As fast as necessary.” Well done team. Hitch Shorty (Grevison) on the trailer behind the Disco and head for more adventures together; but don’t forget to take us along! 👍🏻🙏🦘
We're thinking the same about a car trailer and Grevison trips. I've got a hard top for it and a few ideas on minor upgrades and accessories for such activities.
Don't know how I missed seeing this episode earlier. I hope the drone survived. Great tour of the farm. Looks like a beautiful spot. I do hope we see more of the Land Rover in the future. Congratulations on completing the project.
Greetings Michael, the drone somehow flew itself out of it's predicament, which is a good thing as it was a very tall tree. The old Rover is doing great and is already licensed for the road. Will no doubt feature in a few films sometime in the future.
Thank you so much for creating such a great content, not only so entertaining and high quality, but also helping to bring feelings and emotions for those of us that were lucky to ride (and sometimes drive) the series I when we were kids. After waiting for so long for the culmination of the project you certainly did not disappoint. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Carlos, glad you liked the journey. I've driven a series 3 before but that was my first drive in anything of more antiquity. It was worth the effort.
A neat bit of restored Land Rover you have on your hands there !! Very envious ! May you have many, many problem free adventures with it. Do not forget to video them .. .. .. LOL LOL !!
Huge respect to you, Gavin, and to Ms. Wilms and Krikkett. You guys are the sort of people who will reach your end of days with few regrets. As a film maker in a previous life, I so appreciate the countless hours you have put into your videos and the final quality. The animation also blows me away. I loved the back story at the beginning and the drone in the tree at the end (I can relate). When you are both sitting in your comfy chairs years from now, you will have an amazing library of videos to look back on. Congrats to all of you!
Thanks! The old drone in the tree scenario is always tragic. I got lucky on this one and the thing flew itself out and was recovered unscathed. It was a tall tree and would have been a tough climb for a 90kg human man of some antiquity.
Well done for finally getting the Land Rover completed, its given me the the Inspiration to get on and restore my 1956 Series One Land Rover 88", using your videos for reference 🤔😁
Hello Mr Foreman, Hello from France, I’m the owner of a 1955 Series 1 needing some revival. You’ve said in one of your episodes (8th) that they were not tutorial …. OK with that (or may be not😅🤣😂) because what you have done renovating your Series 1 is inspiring, encouraging and giving strength to anyone who have to undertake such a renovation. Love the introduction footage and the tour around the farm. As you know, not a LR guy but you workmanship and problem solving talents are educational and entertaining not to mention your filmatography.
Hey there Doron. Good to hear from you. What I do suspect there is a Land Rover guy lurking just under your skin waiting to show himself. Hows your travels been?
Congratulations. As a viewer in Perth Western Australia, I felt an enormous amount of satisfaction seeing you finally driving Mr Grevison. It’s almost as if I was building this landy myself……. I can only imagine how much joy and satisfaction you must have had on completion of this project. Well done and I look forward to more adventures.
Say G'day to everyone in Perth for me, I quite like that place. Grevison turned out awesome and it's surreal that it's all finished. I've a few ideas for some adventures in it in the future.
Jeez mate, you must be chuffed , you've done an awesome job of it . And what a grouse set of paddocks for the test drive , looks like a great spot . Don't forget us with some up dates how Grivison going . Thanks for the journey...
Thank you so much for such an informative series. All the episodes provided excellent reference points. The icing on the cake was a view of your beautiful countryside (and how well the Land Rover coped). Terrific stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it. The hard drive blew up on me near the films completion, recovery of the data was a job for the pros along with a princely sum of money but a hurdle not to be unexpected after a monstrous undertaking. It would have been crushing to have the finale vanish into cyberspace and have to release an apology video.
Great job restoring the Land Rover the sort wheelbase is the best looking Land Rover you look your hard work and driving off road you are enjoying good for you 👌👍👍👍ps it looks great
I'm both very pleased for you all and incredibly sad that there isn't going to be more of the build which has kept me vastly entertained over the last few years. I hope to see you again, off for new adventures in Grevison. Next week we're off for an adventure in our Land Rover 130 Ambulance called Katy so we'll have some fun ourselves
Congratulations Mr Foreman! What an epic maiden voyage, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face watching you take the old girl for a spin through such beautiful countryside. It’s been so good watching the journey from the start, and can’t wait to see some of the adventures you take me grieveson on in the future. Cheers
Thanks Nick. I plan on a few Grevison adventures in the future. It's got a lot of character for a film, I'll be looking at getting it registered soon and we might try to find a cheap car trailer to haul it over the big distances and freeways.
Brilliant! Congratulations Gavin. Been with you since the beginning (acquiring my own money-pit landy in the meantime). Thanks for the journey and the inspiration!
How fantastic is that!! I'd have to say that was the best LR videography I have ever enjoyed. To think that was your 'test run' was to see a man confident in his chariot. It looks like the Motor Transport Inspector (Cricket) has given his approval in addition to that of Mrs Grevison. The journey continues, Mr Grevison.
Brilliant, you must be very pleased with the outcome, and what a great test drive. Just what it was designed for. Look forward to seeing your adventures with it.
Hi Summer,Gavin,Mr Dog & Folks, Quelle épopée! Beau travail! Tant au niveau de la mécanique que du montage vidéo...Bravo a vous deux! Cette série fut un régal...
Beautiful episode, awesome series and effort for all our enjoyment, and my best workshop manual as I tend to my own YYB129 series 1 - that’s a Taunton Somerset registration. I love dipping into the earlier episodes for tips, and the hilarious dead ends. Awesome, simply awesome. Thank you.
You’ve gotta be happy with that, you look well chuffed driving your newly renovated Series.Great story telling as always, just look how young you were in the beginning of the story.I’m so glad I stumbled across you two, many years ago now 🙂
The years go by too fast. I'm very happy with the little truck and had no idea whatsoever what I was in for when it all started. Learned a lot! In fact the skills and experience was worth far more than every cent I put into the project.
Excellent Gavin….well done you - that is a lovely Series 1. I think you, Summer and Krickitt should throw the tent and some gear in the back and head off for a camping trip….🤔👍
Your code name hides your identity. I enjoyed working at the port in the trucks, don't know how everyone put up with my crap, especially all the rubbish I'd spit out over the 2 way. I quit miss Freo. Wilms and myself went back there for a few nights on our last visit back. The Holland track is a good one though it seems to be pretty busy nowadays.
What a joy to hear the purr of an old Land Rover 4 cylinder. They were beautiful and underrated engines and vehicles. Well done for the restoration, it makes me wish I could do one.
Fantastic looking and sounding Land-Rover, beautiful countryside and a superbly crafted film. Well done. You have every right to be as proud and content as you look!
What tyres did you fit? All terrain? My odometre is my fuel gauge. Does anybody have a reliable fuel gauge??? Outstanding and sustained effort to get to this point. Congratulations are richly earned and deserved. Bravo mate, bravo! Thanks so much for sharing the epic journey. It's a lovely old Land Rover. I grew up near to the factory in Solihull and a friends' father worked on the assembly line until being laid off in the 70s. You are one of the finest bits of self-defecating detritus to wash up anywhere. Stay good.
Thankyou 1 unsung. The tires are a mud terrain from a brand I've never heard of called Nexen 7.5/16. I asked my tire man for a mid range priced tire for the testing phase and so far I like them. The down sides are they chuck rocks and worse still, the effects of a fresh cow patty can be devastating to both vehicle, driver and dog. I think the axles are from a 2A donor along with wider tires have them protrude beyond the side of the body. One gets the full rural experience. Puts a new twist on the term self defecation.
Thanks Roger, great to have you along on the journey. There have been discussion about adventures in Grevison and provided a bit of fishing is involved Krikkit gives it the paws up.
Yes Gav! I was concerned watching an experienced Aussie bushman ignoring one of the golden rules of outback etiquette. I renovated a 1942 MB Willys in late 2000s it took me about 5 years to complete it too! Like you the first few drives were completely absorbing and satisfying and very much grin inducing! Job well done cobber! Glitches will occur for some time but eventually disappear...although it is a Landrover! I very much enjoyed your short African biography. Thanks for the great series! Keep up the irresponsible editing!
Our neighbor has an old jeep of similar vintage as to what you restored, I've been sick with jealously watching him drive about in it while Grevison was bare bones chassis in the workshop. I was glad to be able to use the African photos rather than have them sitting on a hard drive doing nothing. I made sure to mention the gate situation anticipating a good crucifixion if I left the audience in the dark.
You little ripper! I love the fuel gauge, we had one on our 1962 Beford bus that did fun things like that plus a speedo in MPH that did much the same thing. I just ignored both of them LOL. Congrats on the project and thank you for allowing us to watch all the fun as it progressed. I sense that it is likely to be an ongoing work of art. Your satisfation level must be pretty high right now :)
Greetings there, I'm very happy with how things turned out and the series of videos also. I initially intended for a series of short updates but that didn't go as planned and it got complicated. A hard drive failure almost derailed the final episode but a princely sum of money and 1 month of waiting saw all come good again. It's a really fun little truck and is already stacked with tools and out working.. Fixing gates.
Have been here since you where both back in aus and am now a little older. Have enjoyed all the land rover videos from start to finish and am now saddened by the showing of what is effectively the end. Personally the best was left to last with the tour as we mainly have seen the workshop and your brilliant companions. Can't wait to see what you get up to in the future with your unique Aussie twist. Where all a bit unique in the land down under with our evere evolving character and twisted sence of humour that my wife of 45 years and 50 in Australia from us 🇺🇸 never seems to quite get . Thank you for sharing and I wish you all the best. Cheers.
So you've married an American lass as well, they're not a bad bunch. I think they understand our humour quite well but know it's best not to encourage us. Too much of a good thing and all. I'd quite like to make more Australian films, a zig zagging continental mockumentry featuring all our pigeons and doves with a guest appearance of the noisy scrub bird if I could find one. I doubt it will ever happen. Life is too short.
Always entertaining and how you sent that drone through the trees your skills are just never ending..I actually thought the project may come to a stall ( just my limited thinking)when it came to making the firewall brilliant and thankyou. Better than netflicks.
Thanks! I was lucky with the drone as somehow it flew itself out of a very tall tree. The firewall was a challenge and took me a year all up. My welding improved a lot from that part of the project.
What a great end to a monumental challenge, I will get one of those resistor/voltage regulators as my gauges are doing the same thing. I think you might have wires back to front on fuel gauge. I had that happen just swapped them over and now it works(sometimes) . I had to watch on the big screen such an occasion warranted it along with suitable beverage and snacks. I hope you take it on an adventure before the wind changes and you set off on something else. Thanks again it has been a wonderful journey you have taken us all along, cinematic genius. All the best.😀
Thanks Gippy. I tried the wire swap on the fuel gauge but no joy. They're just not compatible and the solution would be to discard the old gauge for an aftermarket mated pair sender and gauge. That being said, provided I see E as full and F as empty it works well enough. I think Grevison will be out on a few adventures in the future as it is too much fun to pass up. We might be on the lookout for a second hand car trailer to avoid driving it on the big freeways with the trucks.
@@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures Thanks mate really appreciate all you and Wilms have done over the years and I know you are going to love driving Grevison.
Thankyou I have watched this from the very start and your aussie humour helped keep me sane during the covid lock down we had in Vic Aus . Mate i hope you have more planned whether it be car related or you and Wilms travels what ever i hope you all the best and hope to see more that you have to offer Cheers Mate 👍
We will keep making films though it'll slow down more than usual now the Land Rover series is done. Planning another canoe trip and maybe some series 1 trips.
Congratulations from Tasmania, such a rewarding day, my 109 is just about to become a rolling chassis again, so I’m a couple of years behind you, but seeing yours on the road is great inspiration. Enjoy
I like your Landrover the bigger wheels seems to work better you have worked hard so I hope you have many years of enjoyment they seem to get under your skin many people would like the same so best of luck
They are an addiction. The bigger tires are great, the down side is they stick out a bit from the sides and fling cow shit up at me. Can get a bit messy.
Mr Foreman, I have thoroughly enjoyed all your videos, but this one…. BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!!! The intro was outstanding. Congratulations on the completion of your 5 year project and thanks for the tour of the property. What a beautiful place to return to after every adventure. Where to from here????
Thanks Greg, glad you enjoyed the journey. Got no idea where from here, maybe another river trip later this year and some adventure films with the old Landy if I can get it registered for the road.
I can only add my appreciation here for the work that you have done - On the truck itself as well the production of the series. Worth a mint. Genuinely in part responsible for getting me re-inspired to finish fixing my own lump that's currently standing on jacks under a lean-to. You could do some follow-up talks about the realities of doing these re-builds - how long things really take, the costs and the frustrations. Basically a retrospective of the F&*%k-ups. Best Wishes.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the films. I have an old wooden boat I acquired about 8 years ago that I don't want to spend much money on and I doubt I'll film it as it's a labour intensive process. That might be the next project however.
Absolutely wonderful video it would have to be your best, in my opinion. Congratulations on all the hard work for five years on the landy. You gotta watch those editing staff as they didn't even physically close the gate near the end. Great work to both of you. Cheers from Port Hedland WA.
Thanks Dave, the editors did in fact sneakily close the gate during the swap from camera to drone. The cows can smell and open gate from 2 miles away and our neighbors horses are even craftier. Say G'day to all the folk up in Hedland for us. Some good countryside up that way.
The fuel gauge and sender are matched. Series 1 vs series 2. Rovers north or Pangolin 4x4 can set you straight. Bittersweet to see that beautiful rig moving. What’s your next project?😂
Greetings Bob, I'm thinking you're right on the gauge analysis, provided I remember E is full and F not the thing works well enough. I could look into reversing the float arm to cheat the system. No future projects at present, I don't have the years of life, money or love to spare to take on another Rover. I'll endeavor to look after what I have.
Great videos, thanks for that. Best pull my finger out and start my 1954 86" rebuild. Brought back some wonderful memories of when I too worked in the Safari mob from the Okovango Delta to Vic Falls working out of Maun. Love your set up you have made together, great stuff. Wish you both + Cricket many exciting adventures with your newly revived LR steed ; )
Africa has so much awesome stuff and the Okovango delta was my favorite of all. I even went there on my own, hired a guide and a second supply boat and crossed from Etsa 6 to the place near Maun where the tours go. It's a scary place!
A scania, a ds9 engine perhaps. Have one in my bus/motorhome. Waffling at a level 6, good to see the no road testing is progressing, it certainly has been a fantastic journey and very informative cinematic one, how does the camerman fly i wonder. woops camera person damn almost got carried away gender assuming, i sometimes need to do as the ol mick dundee would do and check. Dont tell us the build is complete, what will i do with my abundance of time.
Great show mate, ive been waiting for this video for ages. It was like waiting for Christmas day as a kid. Well done, and good to see the steering wheels on the correct side!
So, you tricked us, you knew what you were doing all along. She purrs like a chicken or something. Great video guys. Great series. Hope you build something new now, just quicker this time.
There was a big learning curve on this project so I evolved quite dramatically over the 5 years or so of challenges. I reckon the skills and experiences gained from this dwarfs the expense of the restoration. It was like an investment in the self.

Many thanks! Glad they are of assistance. Rebuilding even a relatively simple truck like an old land rover is a challenging task.
It's alive again. Congratulations! 🎉
Miracles do happen. Thanks.
I laughed, I cried, but felt pride at the end. Well done 👍
Thank you!
Mr.Foreman, I detected an unremovable smile throughout the episode. Congrats on a job Well done
Thanks, I'm still grinning and the little truck hasn't broken down yet.
great show hope to see more soon 👍
It might be a while till another film, we're out of projects for now though there are ideas in the works.
Thank you so much for the last few years. I have loved every episode. The humour the detail the editing kept it always my “watch first feed”
Glad you enjoy it Alan.
Enjoyed all of your work. Must get my vehicle finished! You are the best entertainer!
Thanks Kevin! Best of luck on your chariot.
Hi Summer,Gavin,Mr Dog & Folks,
Quelle épopée! Beau travail! Tant au niveau de la mécanique que du montage vidéo...Bravo a vous deux! Cette série fut un régal...
Merci, mon ami
Another great adventure in the series 1 😊
Glad you enjoy it!
Thank you.
Your welcome. Glad the films help a bit. I even use them myself on the odd occasion.
Excellent!! Been waiting years for this video
What an inspired finale... well done you. 👍
Thanks Ragfour!
So simple for us to view and enjoy. But huge thanks for all the hard graft on and off camera. God bless, best wishes from the UK.
Thanks @gbentley8176
well this has been a journey. Well done on getting it finished, or as finished as any land rover really ever is.
Thanks Adam.
Excellent Gavin….well done you - that is a lovely Series 1. I think you, Summer and Krickitt should throw the tent and some gear in the back and head off for a camping trip….🤔👍
That's the plan! We're talking about a cheapish car trailer to take it places and avoid having to battle the roaring freeways.
Amazing, well done!
Thanks a lot!
Good Job Gav, with Qube at the CEF in freo, back in the day. Good work mate, keep it up. I must do the Holland Track again...
Thanks Geoff. I'm glad I swapped the V8 back to something more original.
Felicitaciones desde Argentina!!!!!! 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Gracias!
After all that great work massaging all those parts back together it’s nice to see you got a happy ending!! Great job!
Thanks Todd!
What a great video 👏👏👏 bravo !
Thank you! 😃
Love your work mate.
Thanks Uncle Milton.
Fantastic looking and sounding Land-Rover, beautiful countryside and a superbly crafted film. Well done. You have every right to be as proud and content as you look!
Many thanks! I'm very happy how the little truck turned out.
amazing, just amazing. I love your storytelling
Thanks Landy Smurf. Glad you enjoyed the show!
Congratulations on getting it done it looks great I have followed you the whole way
Thanks Roger, great to have you along on the journey.
@@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures I know all about hard drive failures LOL Thankfully Seagate have rescued us for free both times it happened.
@@WesternAustraliaNowAndThen For free! I won't say on a public platform how much I had to hand over.Suffice to say I almost needed to sell a kidney.
What a journey, thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish, it makes me ponder “what’s next”? Great effort and great result!
Thanks Stephen. Not really sure whats next. I'm sure something will turn up.
Thankyou I have watched this from the very start and your aussie humour helped keep me sane during the covid lock down we had in Vic Aus .
Mate i hope you have more planned whether it be car related or you and Wilms travels what ever i hope you all the best and hope to see more that you have to offer
Cheers Mate 👍
We will keep making films though it'll slow down more than usual now the Land Rover series is done. Planning another canoe trip and maybe some series 1 trips.
Congratulations from Tasmania, such a rewarding day, my 109 is just about to become a rolling chassis again, so I’m a couple of years behind you, but seeing yours on the road is great inspiration.
Enjoy
Good to hear there's potential for yet another old Rover coming back from the dead! Best of luck.
Great work. I have watched all of this build and you did well. Kept it interesting. Nice work
Thank you and great job hanging in there for the whole journey. It was a long one.
@@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures I did enjoy it. You have talent in presenting it.
I reckon the films became a bigger project than the truck. They were handy though as I got a lot of tips and advice from the online audience.
Well done mate I've followed this from the start so good to see it finished good incentive ti get my 2a done and my 86" s1
Crikey! You've got 2 of them to deal with. Both are treasures, the 2A I think would be a good one.
I thoroughly enjoyed your whole series. very well filmed presented and edited. What's next in the shed?
THANKS GAV & CO.
You're welcome.
That Scania was a great truck. Didn't want to part with it, unfortunately I was just it's driver and not it's owner.
Great show mate, ive been waiting for this video for ages. It was like waiting for Christmas day as a kid. Well done, and good to see the steering wheels on the correct side!
There's a bit of pressure making the finale as it needs to finish strong and not do the 'game of thrones' thing. Glad you liked it.
@@ForemanAndWilmsAdventures Investment in self is pretty much the only game in town worth pursuing.
