Wonderful presentation Tim. I have been using TLdetails for many years and it's a fantastic program. Thank you for suggesting it for hams who are building antennas or interested in RF. 73

Great presentation Tim, I really like the visual graphic of the Smith Chart on the TL Details tool. Going to start playing with that. Thanks for showing this!

I struggled to read your PC view at first with UA-cam's default quality, it was much better at 1080p. Thanks for another great video Tim.

Great! Much easier that using graphs in old handbooks. (but they have also an educational value). 73 Klas OZ1DTF

I still use Ultraflex 7 for longer runs, but RG58 MIL is more than adequate for short runs of 50ft or less, and it's a heck of a lot easier to work with. I wont use RG174 though, not even for portable. RG58 MIL has almost half the loss but is still light and very flexible.
Mini-8 cable is in no mans land, not good enough for long runs and almost identical in performance to 58 MIL despite being thicker, heaver and 40% more expensive. The outer jacket is harder wearing though.
