Great video. And since you asked what kind of video we would like to see: i would love to see some fault finding. It is fun to guess what the problem could be and then watch to see if the guess was right.
If anyone from the BBC is watching this, forget Joe Sugg, get Cory on Strictly Come Dancing! What a character, he has me chuckling when he and Rueben get together.
Hi Cory, firstly loving all the videos so thank you all very much. Learnt loads!! So my story is I’m 34 and in the process of a career change to become an electrician. Done level 1 & 2 evenings on college and started an apprenticeship back in April of this year. I would love an in depth video on installing a bathroom fan from start to finish and how to measure and cut down lights if at all possible. Different shapes of rooms always catch me out and any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks James
I don't know why it is with electrical equipment, but the cable installation seems to be an after thought. With this charge point they seem to cram the electronics into as tight a space as possible, then think about the cable connection, if that case was 50mm longer, the cable could come through the back, which on those jobs would have looked better. Get the people who design these things to have a go fitting them, they may just alter the design then. It's frustrating, how little thought actually goes into the connection side of electrical equipment at the design stage.
Any reason you don't run data and the CT on the same cable. You only need two pairs for 10/100 Ethernet leaving you with 2 pairs for the CTs. I don't think anyone would requires 10Gb/s ethernet to a car charger. You could also do this trick if you require networking two chargers using 2 parts per charger.
The reason it wasn’t done here, as mentioned in the video, is because the CT location and network cabinet are in two totally different locations. The network switch is in the corner of the garage and the meter in the opposite direction on the other side of the house.
Cory, What's with the rings on both index fingers and no gloves on while cutting the insulation. All those Pringles and Cadbury chocolate. YIKES!!!!! Do you need an intervention. You were doing so well.. Anyway tomorrow is a new day. We will start again. Great videos always. Rocking with the Beanie and the shades.
23 with a head like that no way must have hard digs lol your boss is seriously going to have to put a note on his quotes saying don't feed Cory it's cruel Another good video dude
Please can you do some educational videos on how to swap out old plug/switch sockets for new metal sockets (ideally explaining the earth stuff when using a metal box) - thanks!
Would the cable issue in the 2nd part of the video have been avoided if you started to loosely hang the charging cables instead of always making them tight? I'd think that always having to unwind a tight cable would get old fast, and after a while people would just loop it a couple times to make it faster to take on and off.
Hi Cory , Really enjoying watching and learning from you, just a quick question , Would you recommend me buy this book : Requirements for Electrical Installations, IET Wiring Regulations, Eighteenth Edition, BS 7671:2018 (Electrical Regulations) Paperback - 2 July 2018 . New Sparky at college .. and it would be great If you could get more content on teaching Reuben Huge Jensen
Hi Corey. Im an Engineer in the manufacturing industry. Its going a bit down hill and the place isn't OCD enough for me. I'm thinking of becoming an electrician. Fancy doing an educational video on how to start what certificates and things your need to Gert started maybe tie it in with your journey on becoming where you are today? just a thought thanks
Tool bag tour and review, Also Corey could you do a video offering advice for a adult learner who's done lv2 course/exams and wants to move onto lv3 while not working fully in the trade. Top videos guys
A busy day :) that was a 4hr job, you don't need all those fancy expensive tools they just slow you down. and why did you replace the SWA. worlds gone mad :)
What make are the jackets you wear? Really like them for my courier business. Would appreciate a comment back. Yeh I’m a courier and I watch everyone of your videos, love the content!
Nowt wrong with a proper cheese ploughman's sarnie... the problem is buying them off the shelf in a cardboard box guarantees that it's naff bread, tasteless plastic cheese and wilted leaves with the thinnest hint of "spread" and vinegar infested pickle. Get a proper fresh made sandwich & you'll have a soft aromatic bread with real butter encasing finest cheddar seasoned with a hint of mustard and mayo with fresh crisp rocket, a healthy serving of crunchy pickle and thin slices of fresh crisp apple... optional upgrade of adding in a good wad of Wiltshire cure ham!
Not gonna lie that tango is the worst tango 😂 bring back Cherry tango oi oi and I suppose the install was alright even though your on my patch in northampton 😂👌
You're happy to leave those single insulated conductors? Five star electricians? The fact that the meter cabinet needs a key is a technicality... It's a space the electrically unskilled will need to access.
The regulation mentions nothing about being skilled, just that they are in an enclosure requiring a tool to open. I have spoken to the electrician who installed that cable and plan to rectify it. By no means did I expect Cory to change that.
@@puntoboy_gaming at least it's being sorted.👍 Nonetheless the regulation was mentioned as justification for it being left when it just doesn't apply in this instance. You could say my front door has a lock on it so the electrics inside my house only need basic insulation by that metric. Not being a jobs-worth but if you're gonna put videos on the internet that apprentices and trainees are going to watch you should be holding yourself to a higher standard. Especially when you call yourself Artisan. Not... It's a bit rough but it's ok really...
@@travoltasbiplane1551 I don't agree with your analogy. Your house isn't an enclosure, a meter cupboard is. It's an enclosure constructed to contain a meter with its associated fittings and electrical equipment. 😊 Cory called it out as it is a bit rough and not a method he would install, but as it technically complies he was under no obligation to change it.
@@travoltasbiplane1551 Oh and BTW, this is the exact reason I chose to go with Artisan for the Hypervolt installation as they don't install things that are a "bit rough" and Cory certainly didn't in this case either. 😊
@@puntoboy_gaming it doesn't comply mate. You don't expect basic insulation to be visible, touchable and flapping round a meter cabinet when you or your supplier read your meter. If you want to get really technical you could argue that the swa isn't correctly glanded at point of entry to the enclosure if you really want to go down that road. If the meter cabinet were an enclosure then surely we can remove the covers from those switch fuse isolators and the meter itself? Would you be happy with that? If it's fine why are you getting it fixed? Misinformation is a dangerous thing and it might mean someone makes the wrong call in the future and if they're unlucky they might regret it.

Thanks again to Cory for installing my Hypervolt in this video. He did a great job and I'm very pleased with it. Glad he liked the biscuits 🤣

Great to see Cory strutting his stuff again. The subtle humour is priceless, and he’s a fantastic electrician! 👍
It is refreshing to see such consistent quality work from such a young chap, full marks Cory :)
Great video. And since you asked what kind of video we would like to see: i would love to see some fault finding. It is fun to guess what the problem could be and then watch to see if the guess was right.
i like how hypervolt listened to you about the template with the level on top :P

Should make a video where they send Reuben into a Glasgow housing scheme to rewire a cannabis farm
Incredible 🤣
That is an absolutely brilliant idea. 😂😂😂
The internet never fails to amuse me 🤣🤣

Video idea. Tool bag tour of everyone’s tools and recommendations
“Probably cause of Brexit” really made me chuckle. Lovely stuff as always chaps.
You should make a video talking about the top essential tools an apprentice needs
Marker (pen), screw drivers, tape, pliers on ur first day
A review video on every flavour of pringles would be really helpful 🙂
Great video team artisan
Watching Cory work with tools and stuff biscuits in his mouth. It just doesn't get any better.
Cory rocking it with those sunglasses 🤣🤣😂😂
