In case you missed it, they show in the credits how they fix earth in the sense that there are more plants and the robots aid the humans in the reconstruction of their homes and other buildings. Sadly they never showed what happened to the massive dirt towers that the Walle robots built…
Fun fact: WALL-E is the first Pixar film to use the 2006 Walt Disney Pictures logo. (1:05) Although the 1995 Pixar custom logo is used in the first teaser, and the 2006 logo is used in TV spots for the previous film, Ratatouille, which was the last Pixar film to use the Pixar custom Disney logo
8:25 *YOU NOTICED, TOO!* As far as I can tell, EVEs are built tough and have no exposed mechanisms to worry about wear-and-tear, But the ships are different. Otherwise, the cruise ships could've stayed in their drydocks on Earth. Unless their seemingly-infinite resources only work in 0g, there's no reason they would've had to leave... EVEs have guns, and their ships leave in a hurry. Maybe BnL feared some humans would somehow survive and sabotage their probes, or maybe they were scared of something else.
It's incredible no matter how many times I watch this movie just how much they're able to tell you without any dialogue All the broken down Wall-Es, the towers of trash higher than skyscrapers, the ads and newspapers everywhere, the abandoned buildings, the way Wall-E interacts with EVE and his lil roach buddy and later MO, etc.

to answer the question = how do they reproduce? you have to understand that it remains a PIXAR (#A113) for children. reproduction is illustrated by the education that our parents give us at 5 years old. "the little seed"... in this film, EVE becomes a mother when she puts the plant inside her... as for human reproduction, again, they are referring to matrix. where the number of births is controlled and carried out by machines (check point of the captain when he wakes up).
You claim you can't go a week without texting people. Then you are SHOCKED that people in the future can't look anywhere but a screen. Hell people are 3/4 of the way now. Can't walk or drive without their phones in front of them.
To be fair, cruise ships are as vapid as texting - plus texting is a necessary bandaid for a world where community is decentralized and going outdoors is increasingly lethal
