Sodium fixed the performance on NVIDIA GPUs, you might have 2-3x better performance so enjoy ppl
YAY❤
Wait, performance on NOVIDEO GPU's was broken for Sodium this whole time? Damn, no wonder why 1440p performance felt barely different on a 3060 Ti compared to a 290X/980 Ti on 1.18.2 and other versions.
Sodium has some problems with older AMD graphics cards, i'm using a Radeon R5 230 and my screen starts flickering when using sodium, OptiFine works normally. (I use a DVI Cable)
you changed my life from 40 FPS to a very steady 144, thanks a lot
𝚈𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚙𝚑𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚛𝚊𝚖
hold on u lag irl? xD i know its in minecraft
Ig u just changed ur monitor 💀
I was on 30 fps now im on 300
@@fitfreaks.911are u slow?😭
the amount of mods that are needed to boost the performance of the game is INSANE!! mc definitely needs an optimization update.
My brother in christ 1.20 was the optimization update
Even if minecraft had an optimization update, it would deprecate the current mod list but immediately people would start making new mods that boost the performance even more, and this'll be an endless cycle.
@@jotasietesiete4397 No it wasn't.
@@Proferk i mean the whole point of updates is so that the game can be improved gradually and sure people will make mods to improve the game further but having the base game improved to the best of its ability will eliminate the need for people to use the mods in the first place. furthermore, when people make new mods there won't be a 'necessity' to use them if you're on a lower performance/budget pc.
@@jotasietesiete4397what do you mean?
A HUGELY underrated performance mod is Exordium. It basically renders GUI related elements at a lower frame rate than the world, because it turns out to be more intensive than you would think, for no real gain. It also prevents glowing sign text from rendering multiple times per frame which can be a huge difference on certain servers. Highly recommend
will look at it for the 1.21 mod video
@@Lenternbro please any update on nvidia drivers , when will it be fixed ?
@@ganjapaada9095how much fps do u get with optifine and sodium?
@@h4m1m sodium works with fabric not optifine
Exordium's logic for limiting the FPS was changed recently (tldr; each gui has its own buffer instead of being ran on one) and its now arguably better to use something like ImmediatelyFast. Using Modernfix and Sodium Extra also both help FPS, aswell as VMP and C2ME depending on your CPU, Starlight overall, and for servers only, Servercore. Krypton can also help your connection in some scenarios. If you want to load games faster, FastLoad can also help with that.
One mod that works _INSANELY_ well on computers with weaker CPUs (like mine) is C2ME, which speeds up the chunkloading at least ten-fold. It doesn't fix the lag with _rendering_ the chunks, but that's Sodium's (or Nvidium's) job; C2ME fixes the stutters of loading new chunks as well as the ability to walk into unloaded chunks, and as someone with a weak CPU, I'd highly recommend it.
Noisium is another one that helps with the same thing, it works in tandem with C2ME
Prior to finding this video, loading new chunks on my worlds would bring my game to a grinding halt, often below an average of 5FPSon LOW graphics settings. These mods completely removed that lag and I now run a smooth 100+ FPS, 60-70 when traveling in newly rendered areas. Thanks!!
When the world needed him the most, he returned
😮
Couldn't agree more😂
Finally got connected textures back. Thank you!
Thank you for such a super informative video!! I had a lot of these already installed but I downloaded new ones so my game can run better
I went from 1 FPS to 2 FPS. Thanks a lot!
lol
Lmao
i went from -50 fps to 2 fps! this guy is the best!
I went from 0.01 to 0.02 !!!!! This Guy Is The Master Of fps
i went from homeless to still homeless! atleast now i have a potato
That last mod was the cherry on top of this video, great video thanks!!
such a professional video, helped me out a ton and cant reccomend it enough. dont understand why your channel isnt much bigger, it certainly deserves to be!
add sodium extra and lamb dynamic lights so u get the full optifine feel :)
LDL is very intensive. At least in my case it was. I literally had more performance with just good ole shaders than with this mod.
@@xellowastaken6992same, whenever I used it with shaders, I lost like 3x the performance whenever I held a torch or anything that emitted a lot of light.
Nice work man, I subbed.
Even for someone who doesnt want to mod the game at all, I would say this video is extremely worth watching. You definitively know how to entertain
Performance and optimization mods are a must, especially for java players.
Hey Lentern, thanks for putting in this work! Do you know whether the mods in this list are client side only? I was interested in setting up a server so if they were client side I could get away with Realm instead of putting out for a third party host.
Great Video! Very helpful and funny :)
This is a god tier video thank you so much you resolve my problem with sodium fps
Disclaimer: Soon after this video, Sodium has made updates that fixed the occlusion and biome blending issues. You do not need to download those mods anymore, for they will crash the game upon startup
At school rn but I will update the mods document later to say this
@@Lentern i missed your video man where are you
@@deezlysI swear im not tryna be cool and mysterious or anything i've literally just been constantly sick and busy with schoolwork since november. I'm tryna have a video out in April, appreciate my supporters
I will watch this even though I already downloaded the mods in your github link. Thanks.
really nice video and good editing, ty for sharing all the mods
You could add nvidium for 1.20.1 video it's great for users with nvidia gtx 1660's or higher it improves performance alot and allows for higher distance similar[some cases same] performance.
Note: it doesn't work on any other gpu's but it won't break anything if it is installed as it will just disable it self, it also disables it self when iris shaders are active
You could also take a look at bobby
I hope this mods gets backported to 1.18.2 as well. Never knew we needed this the whole time.
YOOOOO I WAS LOOKING FORWARD FOR THIS
i got from 60 to 300 just for changing to fabric I cant wait to see these mods too
After 2 hours of chashes i finally got it to work ( 2 mods didnt work ) it really improved my fps ( over 60 at max render distance) thanks ❤:D
Which ones did u use and which ones didnt work, please ive been having the same problem
Ya brl what mods?????
although this has never happened before, it says there is a java exception whenever i run the installer
Amazing video, you deserve more subscribers
I have been waiting for this video since 1.20, thanks! it really helps a lot
tnx man my base was laggy bcz of the entities but your mod s helped me
Just so you know everyone, iris also increases performance in regular gameplay, not just with shaders.
Also some other mods you may want to use - more culling and more culling extra, by the same person who did the memory leak fix mod, which does loads of different culling methods. Next, feytweaks, which optimises signs and beacons, useful if you have lots of those. Next, fasterrandom, does what you’d expect. Lastly, C2ME optimises chunks and jnsane amount
Is there any quicker way to update the mods when a new version comes out other than going through and redownloading them all individually? I've done that for the last couple years and each time takes longer cause I find a new QOL/Performance mod to add to the collection.
I really love ESSENTIAL Mod that have the essentials basically, there’s an easier screenshot that u can copy, edit, and send to ur friends, Social that has ur friends added (like lunar) on the mod itself, there’s inbuilt Zoom, with some customization, cosmetics, create a host (like transform ur singleplayer world and make it multiplayer, u can invite someone on ur friend list, there’s many option to customize the world, like op, make the other players with roles like adventurer, doesn’t break nothing, etc.. it’s like the old days in console that u can now a host on ur world and play with ur friends) and etc…
wow you saved my gaming experience, went from a measly 2000 fps to 600 fps with shaders
thanks for explaining what each mod do!
can you do one about texture packs you use ? If you use any ofcourse.
Thank you for this video, I have 4x the fps from most of the mods. I use to get 40-50 fps, now I get 160
You missed Essential, which does a lot of stuff these mods you mentioned do and lets you play with friends without setting up servers and stuff
Great video!
this made playing mc 100x better thank you! ❤
You have changed minecraft for me forever, i went from 30 fps to not even going under 100
7:04 if i dont use these relams by minecraft anyway, is there any problem if i have the setting for the mods button on Replace Realms?
This is helpful, but is there a Forge version?
Bro i have a question..
How you are seeing the movements you are doing in the bottom right corner
For me only sodium does a massive performance boost, if i add any more performance mods, the fps just decreases. OR IS IT JUST THAT FABRIC IS WORSE THAN QUILT?
Small UA-camr but a great video it was amazing and very helpful
What about better f3 and sodium extra mod?
WANNA KNOW WHY I STOPPED USING SODIUM IT WAS BECASUE OF THIS MISSING CHUNK THING THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME Sodium/Rubidium Occlusion Culling Fix
U can try Vulkan Renderer mod in the 1.21 video?
pretty noticeable difference in my game, thank you so much.
the only issue im facing is it's taking a bit longer for the game to launch, is this expected?
well yeah its loading a bunch of mods, there are some mods that can reduce the load time though
@@gennerallyalright ah i see, thank you. this was so good but a lot of mods here don't have updates for newer versions now..
Thanks bro i went from laggy 200-300 fps and lot of drops to stable 500-600 fps!
Nvidium and using a lighter operating system helps a lot if all you play is minecraft and some steam games I recommend using a Linux distribution.
Is 1.20 more better on performance than 1.19 and 1.18 I did a test with sodium I got a very stable 80 fps with fancy setting and smoothing lighting and got a unstable 50 to 60 fps in 1.18 with fast settings it’s crazy better for fps
How do I know which version of Java I have?
It says, "Quilt Installer needs Java 17 to run.
Install the latest LTS release of Java from Eclipse Adoptium and try again."
When I installed the "latest LTS release of Java from Eclipse Adoptium" it still didn't work.
While installing Eclipse Adoptium make sure you click on the features with an X next to them and select install to the local hard drive, so that all 4 options are checked.
Hello Lentern, I got a question. Im actually a very new player to Minecraft Java. According from the recent issue about malware that affected many minecraft mods, Im very concerned that some mods that I downloaded may be dangerous. Only using performance mods like Sodium and some of mods from this video. Are those kind of mods (performance mods) safe? I play minecraft only for singleplayer, never interested on playing multiplayer. Great video btw. Sorry for my bad english. Thank you.
To my current knowledge that one virus going around is no longer active, but recently a vulnerability in some older mods and possibly some newer ones made it so that anyone could run malicious code in multiplayer servers only. Sorry for format and grammar
theres never a way to know if youre fully safe. if you are skeptical, play vanilla. i don't advertise these mods with the intention of giving people malware, but I have been using these mods for years and to my knowledge I am safe
I double OP's comment. Just stick with curseforge and modrinth and to ease skepticism only use mods with moderate to high amounts of downloads. However, keep in mind that those 2 websites are very safe and you should have very minimal concern when downloading mods from them.
@@jayavionharrisBut keep in mind that it was Curseforge where the infected Mods were uploaded xD
why do your jar files look like that? very curious.
FabriZoom (by trainb0y) is a Fabric fork of Ok Zoomer.
Fabricated Zoomer (by Nolij) too.
I just tried Sodium on my laptop and it makes my sky flash when I jump. I'll have to try it on my desktop when I get home in a couple weeks, but it's a damn shame since it's the *laptop* that needs the performance boost. -_-
THIS IS THE MOST UNDERATED UA-camR
I first hear of LunarClient a few days ago and heard it can boost framerate a lot.
WITHOUT LUNAR, My laptop is just strong enough to run vanilla with enough frames that gameplay usually doesn't lag if my render distance stays below 16, as long as I also keep almost every graphical setting (that impacts performance at least) on its lowest values. I can use "fancy" if my render distance is 8 but still drop a couple frames with no gameplay lag.
WITH LUNAR, I can keep my render distance on 16 at almost all times with fancy graphics, biome blend of 1, and even enable clouds and my frames are still a nearly constant 60-100.
THEN I DICOVERED SODIUM TONIGHT, just a few hours before this landed in my feed.
I now pull constant 80-200 FPS. I have a 60hz screen so this means almost nothing but it's awesome that I can pull the framerates that people with powerful computers can, while having fancy settings, fancy clouds, biome blend 1, 20 render AND simulation distance...THIS GAME LOOKS SO FUCKING GOOD GUYS!!!!!!!
I've been stuck with the worst graphical version of this game since I started playing in like 2016. Y'all have no idea how good it feels to unlock the potential of my computer. It acts like it did when I got it in 2018! I'm so happy., I even installed some fun singleplayer mods (Cobblemon, anyone? :3 ) AND I STILL GET CONSTANT 60s!!!
Can skip starlight in 1.20, the vanilla aspect to lighting was massively improved
How tf i just saw his video yesterday ( the 1.19 mods ) and he said he will make one soon and today he released it !!!🎉🎉🎉
should i use methane mod with starlight?
i installed most of these mods through fabric, works great for the most part. only problem is all spruce leaves have turned white. i wonder which mod is causing this?
merry christmas i guess
This is THE BEST video i've seen this year so far!
you saved more then my life i use to get 700 fps but now i can reach to 1000 fps i am going crazy ty
how do you render so much like that?
Mods improved my fps while using shaders, thumbs up from me
And i use Intel integrated graphics
Also, for example, if you´re using/playing in 1.20.4, some mods that are up to 1.20.2 actually work in that version, but always try first and check stuff up before playing.
after i installed the sodium mod, i can't see the show fps option on the video settings
Please add Litematica, Tweakeroo and item scroller to the list, all of them are so good
Tell me, all the mod files you put in the first mods folder are from where?
github.com/Lentern/mods
wow just yesterday I watched your video since I also got the game yesterday, how convenient
did you ever play bedrock edition before this?
yes, I got it on presale when it first came out for the xbox 360
This video made Minecraft playable for me thanks
bro whenever i use sodium my game get stuck at mojang studios loding screen but without it game boots normally
can i have solution
A funny mod I saw in quilt is "makequiltgoslightlyfasterlol"
Another one is "Biome blend fix"
Which makes the biomeblend 32x32 and makes it 3d instead of vanilla's 2d(it's faster)
To add on to the no more crashing mod: Theres a mod called "Vanillaicecreamfix" which is a port of vanillafix for 1.13+ forge+fabric versions
mods i use with fabric (performance focused)
bedrodium
enhanced block entities
entity culling
exordium
iris
remove reloading screen
sodium
sodium extra
reeses sodium options
starlight
meteor client as optional for no render options
2:26 does someone have an idea when will nvidia fix this issue?
idk bout others but Enhanced Block Entities has ALWAYS made all entities invisible & broken, so i personally never use it sadly
You changed my life my fps changed 0 to 1 fps thanks you 😂
Does these mods work for modpacks like stoneblock on 1.12.2
Hey Lentern, I tried using ImmediatelyFast (on 1.20.1) on quilt but it seems the latest release of quilt uses fabric loader 0.14.24 and not fabric loader 0.15.0 - 0.15.1 which is what ImmediatelyFast (again on 1.20.1) uses. Is there something I'm doing wrong or are they just not compatible?
Quilt should update soon to support the new Fabric version, but you'd be fine to use Fabric if you wanna use the mod
I added iris and sodium but it doesn't show when i play the game so i can't add shaders :(
'The performance of the game is still pretty bad no matter how good your computer is.'
in the recent versions, the game loads almost instantaneously and with high framerate even with a weak computer
is there a custom textures and good hypixel skyblock mod?
you deserve better thank you from the he;[❤
you should check these mods out:
zoomify - a better zoom mod with more customization
gamma utils - a better gamma mod. you can adjust gamma using keybinds. very customizable
ferritecore - performance
concurrent chunk management engine - performance
chat patches - so many settings to customize chat; includes more chat history and also saves chats when leaving worlds
searchables - adds a search bar to the keybinds menu; useful if you have a lot of mods
jade - powerful tool to see "hidden" info like: animal breeding cooldowns, adult growth time, chicken egg cooldown, horse/donkey/mule jump & speed stats, etc. (can be used client-side on servers but needs to be installed server-side to be a lot more useful)
He already talked about ferritecore
c2me doesnt really improve performance on the client side, it has some noticable improvements if installed on a server tho
why do you prefer quilt?
It should be criminal not to mention nvidium in these types of videos. I'm literally playing with 128 chunks render distance with bobby installed and 0 lod like how distant horizons does it and I'm running at stable 144 fps, which drops down to 70 when I disable it.
The Return of the King
My Minecraft world keeps crashing when I load sever on single player
Huge question I have is: Can you download the mods from modrinth the same way you can with curseforge or do you have to use the modrinth app?
Same way as curse
@@Lentern Ah. Gotcha. Thx
why cant i use memory leak fix and immediately mod at together please help
Bro can i use all these mods with sodium. 🤔
1:37, Do I go overboard on the RAM allocation? I have 32GB of RAM and I allocate 12GB of RAM to Minecraft.
i use sodium + modern fix! is it ok?
Guys, Of these mods, which one is incompatible with the Fresh Animations Texture ? thanks
im on fabric and since i added this it wont open and says unresposive
it crashes, crash error 1, ive reinstalled java, the works. what do i do
It sucks these mods didn't exist back in 2010-2014 when i played on some old ass laptop with core2duo, 3gb of ram and some geforce 8400M.
Now my pc can handle minecraft without issues
it's insane to me that vanilla runs at about 20fps- for me, but when i install mods i can comfortably get around 80-100fps (shitty pc, i3 2100, gt610, 4gb ram)
How
How do I download this in tlaucnher can anyone please explain
