Can anybody tell me if the opening sequence comes from a particular piece? Thank you! (I can't get enough of it somehow, so beautiful… I nearly can't take it)
I've never heard the processional portion. Great effect. Then it's attached to F. Melius Christiansen's arrangement. I sang for his son Paul J Christiansen and probably did this piece in concert about 200 times. This is beautifully done.
Murphy… you are so welcome. My father was a choral director at Truett McConnell college in the early 1950’s and a music minister from 1952 until his death in 1995. I have a vast hymnal collection in my attic. I guess it’s become a hobby by osmosis. This arrangement is hauntingly beautiful.
Beautiful, from Powell Wyoming
It doesn't get much better than the Samford A Cappella Choir singing "Beautiful Savior." A campus tradition for generations!
Fabulous

@@jangodreams I agree, such a beautiful opening vibe.

Why so fast? The piece can be so much more intimate.
This sounds better at 1.25. It drags at normal speed.
