Arsenal 2-2 Bayern Munich: How Arteta's GENIUS Change Saved The Tie
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 кві 2024
- Arsenal go to Bayern Munich next week with their Champions League Quarter-Final hanging in the balance. But, after their German opponents had turned around an early Bukayo Saka goal to lead 1-2, Arsenal managed to rescue the tie through Leandro Trossard.
The reason? Mikel Arteta's brilliant in-game changes that allowed his side to dominate, then salvage, this huge game.

Arteta got his tactics mostly right, just two individual errors led to two shots which led to two goals for Bayern. White should’ve put his chance away to make it 2-0, but we move
yeah it was ashame that the pressure got to Kiwior. Zinchenko was playing much better in the 2nd half
@@theoph1932 Zinchenko has that ucl experience, i understand why arteta didn't start him tho
I think tomi should’ve started, he’s had 1v1 with sané before and pocketed him internationally. Maybe tomi was ill idk
@@omother6950how can u pocket someone who is way faster than u on a counter? Its not like sane was dribling kiwior lol
Wow thanks for leaving a comment about the content from this video!

@@S0L12D3 Were u at the Bayern game chump?
@@JohnEllis-le9ym I dont live in England chump.
After seeing the first half with Odegaard and Rice dropping all the way to the backline to progress the ball, I was so happy to see Zinchenko come on at half time. Thats a sub Arteta would not make 2 years ago, but its a change that means they are trying to win and take control.
Yet some our fans was objective to zinchenko coming on
@@yungstahotmailAlot of our fans are plastic and don't understand the game.
@@yungstahotmailYes because at that time we saw Kiwior getting beat every time and Zinchenko is much worse defensively, but zinny ended up doing well and won his duels, Arteta got it right again.
And that's exactly why we bought timber. Unfortunately he got injured but I'm pretty sure artera saw him as a lb who can defend and attack.
I was skeptical of zinchenko coming on, and genuinely he was exposed 1v1 multiple times with sane and coman, but surprisingly we didn’t concede. It was a risk arteta took and he took it, he knew very well zinchenko would end up being isolated but in the ucl you have to take risks. It paid off and kept us in the tie, Bayern also took risks in the first half with neuer having to do a risky pass which put them under more pressure to de ligt, but it also paid off. This is why the ucl is entertaining and captivating. You cannot afford to be safe when you’re behind
Bayern have the most press resistant goalkeeper in world football. Neuer changed the game and continues to be the best at playing with his feet in that position.
What an absolute baller.
As a gooner, I wouldn't mind if he went somewhere for a sneaky ski holiday before the second leg.
@@finnlawless as a fellow gooner, I find that absolutely despicable.
@@juggernaut2035 I'm not actually wishing another broken leg on him. It was meant in jest. Sorry if I upset anyone.
@finnlawless End of the day, we can beat these at their own ground. Just gotta cut out mistakes.
Tomiyasy might have a big role to play in the away leg, keeping Sane quiet and just his presence on the left hand side will counter anything Neuer wants to do.
@@finnlawlessnow win a title like real man. Don't fart too much fartenal
😂😂😂😂 I like this guy's analysis. So That's why the Kiwor change worked. This is better to hear than when the pundits are doing their analysis.
… me now wondering did he put kiwor there to start with to make that weak space so he could swap it out 😵🤔
@@TristanBaileyno why the fuck would he do that?
@@jackaboy1018harder to react mid game to it, possibly. Don't think he'd weaken the team to do that, I think it was probably more of a case of Kiwor underperformed in that role and Zinny overperformed and as a result its kicked Arsenal into another gear.
anyone notice the ‘saka was robbed’ in the background 😂😂
I hadn't seen it 😂😂
It's purely a bad decision from him imo, instead bang that ball into the net, he instead asking for a pen, which is 50 50 imo, sometimes it's given, sometimes it's not. And that's the naivety from saka to depend on the refs to give that pen
@@RRP6632 i see what you mean there but at the same time you could argue he’s tried to lift his leg over neuer then neuer has stuck it out a bit moved it and by neuers reaction he just looks like he knows he fouled him
I hadn't! Thank you 😂
@@RRP6632 agreed that was the lack of exprerience in these big European games getting to Saka hopefully he learns from it in the second leg
Arteta is the Tony Stark of Football. He always learns from his mistakes, and he'll definitely play better in the second leg.
I knew he was an intelligent player but had no idea he was this smart tactically until he became arsenals manager. Brilliant signings and tactics.
As far as analysing your defo up there as the best.
Bayern's counters look so well-rehearsed. Perfect runs and balls
Also world class players who do it instinctively at times I think
This is just NEXT LEVEL. Amazing analysis and presentation. I feel like a blind man after listening to these pods seeing what is really going on tactically. It’s why so many content creators have no business being critical of arteta and the team when they have NO clue what is going on. Pure Awesomeness
Best football analysis channel on youtube, both for the analysis and the humour.
Very objective and kind.
Amazing analysis...spot on,nice work,really waiting for your reaction mate...much love from kenya❤
we just need to have faith in arteta . he is gonna smack in 2nd leg
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@user-qd1vj2li8odid you not watch and listen to the video?
@@esplayn come back after a week when arsenal get whacked by Bayern🤣
Arsenal fucked themselves over. That draw was disgraceful
This is why when so many fans are saying we should let Zinchenko go this summer are idiots. He still brings something no other leftback can do. He still has a role to play for us.
Trust Arteta on this
I don’t want to see Zinny go, but he brings something no other left back not named Jurrien Timber can do. Timber can do everything Zinny does and he’s a better defender. Unfortunately he isn’t fit, otherwise he would be starting. That’s why Zinchenko is so important for depth (as well as Tomiyasu who can play both sides).
@@dukeonwheels you're giving timber too much credit. Timber is a good carry and solid defender, but he hasn't displayed the kind of passing and attacking prowess Zinny has.
We're building Timber up too much in our own heads. Timber will be a massive presence in our back line and likely the main starter for us when fit, but he's not Zinny 2.1.
Arteta paid 35m for Zinchenko while Pep paid 14m for Akanji
Who got the better deal?
@@dukeonwheels Timber can do everything Zinny does other than play for more than 47 mins in the EPL
@@JohnEllis-le9ym And Arteta paid 28m for Trossard while Chelsea paid 100m for Mudryk. What’s your point? This happens all the time.
You make football look simple and easily understood. I'm sure Arteta will smoke Bayern in the second leg with his genius plans. Much love from 🇰🇪
Mate Bayern are one of the best transitional teams in world football at the Allianz they’ll smoke ya 😂😂😂
@@beastfootball1782we dominated that game in possesion and chances created. Defending mistakes led to both their goals.😂 let’s talk after the rematch.
@@beastfootball1782you’re only half correct
@@TerjeVassboSkalstad you do realize that defending mistakes are usually and in both cases were caused by offensive pressure right? Kane gave Kiwior no passing options and he played a bad pass under pressure. Thats not just a mistake
@@aturboford1 yes, but they could still easily have been avoided
I said bar the momentary moments of individual madness, I think last night was one of arteta's best tactical performances ever last night. Of course, the result is not what the arsenal wanted, but they really did assert themselves on the game.
This was also bayern lowest shot count for the year thus far to. Would love to see arsenal impose themselves more in bigger games like this as they did last night. However, I think if I was was to make a slight tweak, I think we have rice playing a bit too far up that field. He has to be close to jorginho to help overcome his athletic deficiencies, which got exposed time and time again last night

Wish Adam could do the commentary / tactical explanation live during a match.. I’m not a huge live match watcher, but would definitely watch Adam’s commentary
Another cracking video Adam and the team! This just confirms my hunch that tomiyasu or zinny starting would've made this a completely different game. I think if Jurrien Timber walks out of that allianz arena tunnel we demolish this lot. UP THE ARSE! COYG
Perhaps Tomiyasu isn’t ready since he was having injuries and not fully fit
Great Video
This channel makes me like Arsenal. I've always supported them, but I haven't liked them for a long time. But this..? The break down, the clarity, I understand the ethos better and appreciate the management and squad a heck tonne more. I think I'm a Gunner again :P

Can we also talk about Partey's impact on the game? His passing and positioning is so underrated.

That flick from Neuer to DeLigt was genius & smooth!

Really informative and delivered in an amusing and entertaining manner. Dunno what else you could do really. Maybe replace the Subbuteo pieces with puppies?
Another great and entertaining video! A bit nasty with the Spurs remark but what the hey!!
The creative players in fullback. Ancellotti started that two years with kroos, Ten hag did last year with Erikson, Inzaghi is doing that with his inter at an incredible level but it's good Arteta is doing it. Seems like it's going to be the new meta

would've loved your take on the saka incident in the end, personally i don't think its a penalty
Great content mate. Hilarious too. 😂😂😂😂😂
For my favourite team to be this good, Arteta, thank you 🙏🏾
The communication among the team is quite impressive. The pass to Gabriel Jesus was about to be intercepted by Odegaard. Apparently, Jesus alerted Odegaard to free the pass for him at 13:01. The rest is history. Well done to everyone at Arsenal. I'm happy watching football again. Gracias 🙏🏾
Love that sign at the back 😂
Kiwior, Rice and Havertz are making life hard for Martinelli. None of them can give him the pass he needs to attack like what Jesus and Xhaka did last year. But anytime Zinchenko comes in, he has to track back because Zincheko isnt good defensively
Amazing analysis. Would’ve loved to see the analysis for the Arsenal-Brighton game. Arteta refused to explain the tactics, so even more curious now
Were you expecting him to say everything on TV while we're still playing in the season?

Absolutely brilliant breakdown, but what about the pen shout
3:26 This is what i saw during first half. Arteta solving the problem quite fast.
Football Made Simple made this similar astute analysis/observation. My simple mind can only assess that they have changed formation that allowed Arsenal more options down the left where Kiwior was ineffective.
Brilliant
The bit on "Not Very Good" Dier really cracked me up.
Brilliant views ❤
Undoing a mistake isn't genius or brilliant, it's common sense, which was lacking with Kiwior in the starting eleven.
You are a good teacher mate, that guy use to play for spurs *not very good*
I love this show
As good as Odegaard played, he mostly moved in areas that weren't dangerous, which limited his impact. Possession for Arsenal in harmless areas was a key feature of Tuchel's strategy. That 'domination' was wanted to open up space on the counter.
I caveat this point with the benefit of hindsight, but Arteta got it wrong to begin with starting Kiwior and Martinelli instead of Zinchenko and Jesus on that left hand side. Both ex-City players are familiar with Sane's game and MORE significantly, have the experience of QF CL football to provide the necessary stability to an Arsenal team that were incredibly naive that first half.
Precisely.
You speak as if you are smarter than Arteta . Do you have a professional coach certification?
@cavendishmontigue3254 yeah but the caveat...
I was led to believe that Kiwor is meant to be really quick, from the game last night I am not convinced
The fact you're not an Arsenal fan makes me really optimistic about the next game!
Top top breakdown
As a Bayern fan I expected Arsenal to slaughter Bayern
You have quality mate😅 and experience
We can go all the way! Telling every Arsenal fan exactly what they want to hear.
Great analysis.
Any consideration as to the chance Bayern had just before the Saka penalty drama at the end? They almost won it at the death
Comes down to individual quality again I believe. Coman's movement arriving in the box is elite and Musiala does a good job sensing it.
