Man I live in Minnesota but have been vacationing on marathon for the past 27 years and you sir have shared a wealth of of info on this video that could make ANYONE catch fish. I’ve been watching you for quite a while now and wow the things you do and the fish you catch in your “blue plastic boat” is simply amazing I hope you continue your content because it gives me my fix between my vacations down there. Thanks
Really solid video. I wish I would have had this tutorial 5 years ago. I've tried to assemble this knowledge from guides and trial/error when I've been in Florida but this is a quick way to build that knowledge and focus on tactics.
Hooo there is a ramp after the 7 miles bridge, also in that same recreational bridge there is deep waters at the beginning, you keep walking, and around the midle of it you’ll see deep waters, with current. Try fishing there with life shrimp. You will remember my words.
my family is planning to purchase a boat again. un-landlocking myself :) if we ever end up in FL with the boat, would you like to tag along? Of course, we would have no clue what we're doing compared to you. Also, if you're ever up in Massachusetts, hit me up! I'll get you on to 40+ class stripers from the shore
I'm finding the whole "novice" series very informative and helpful but I've not heard any mention of any need for permit/license to fish. Is there a permit/license that you require for novice style fishing from the edges?
Last time i was down there, my dad went to the bait shop and asked wheres the best fishing at... low and behold we had to go to the fishing pier cause they promised it was the best fishing around... Waste of time, i hate the big piers
Usually the water line gives you a clue but in the Florida keys is rather easy as the current will flow north on a high tide (incoming filling Florida bay/Gulf) and then flow south on the low tide (outgoing towards the reef/Atlantic)...
I really liked how you brought us up too those spots it really helped me to understand what I need to look for.
Excellent! Your on location reinforcement of whiteboard lesson was very very helpful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Steve.

Gordon Dillon The only time you need a license in Florida is if you are on a boat or out on the water somehow (like a kayak).
Do you have recommendation of any place that you can rent a kayak, to do kayak fishing in key west?
