That’s actually the driving reason he killed them from what some writer said I believe. Because he was planning on sparing them and try to turn them over to the dark side but when the kid called him master it put the nail in the coffin and he got pissed because he remembered how the council didn’t allow him to be one. Basically he kinda deep down felt the kid/the universe was taunting him by calling him a master when he specifically was told he couldn’t be.

The one he loved the most he wanted to save because he was hurting so much from the ones he cared for he was willing to do whatever it took to save the one he thought he could save.

Despite knowing that Ahsoka was alive, somebody else that he loved, he still use blatant disregard for her life and joined the emperor. Rex and many other clones lost entire free will due to an order that he later became aware of, effectively creating many more slaves. There is a lot wrong with Anakin's turn to the dark side, and it for sure should have been written a lot better... If he truly thought he was doing the right thing, in no world would he have killed innocent children, hating the Jedi is one thing, but even some of the worst criminals have lines they don't cross.
Pretty sure he was well aware of Palpatine being a sith Lord. I think he comes to terms with that in the moment that Palpatine asks him to kill Dooku. He just kind of accepted that in order to unlock the abilities to prolong someone's life unnaturally he would have to follow the dark side. So he kinda just rolled with it. At least that's my understanding.

Green crystals indicate that a Jedi has a stronger link to the Force than other combat abilities or power, nothing to do with strength - just means that they lean in a certain direction. Anakin was the most powerful force user in existence, his saber was blue.

This raises the question of how many Younglings would've been needed to kill Anakin. In the movie scene we see seven, which obviously wasn't enough. But even the strongest fighter can't win against an entire army of weak opponents. At some point they *will* overwhelm him by sheer number.
We saw that in Episode 2. The group of jedi in the arena were stronger than the dumb robotic soldiers, but they were eventually overwhelmed by the sheer number of attackers . .
In the Gillard System, which measured the characters' combat level on a scale of 1-9. 1 was Youngling and 9 was Yoda, Sidious and Anakin(Darkside). There was a theoretical Tier 10, and it belonged solely to a Full Potential Anakin. Furthermore, it was an exponential scale.
I still feel that was a bit too much too soon… Anakin literally left the temple to arrest the chancellor and came back to kill younglings. No one falls that far that fast. Palpatine was a moral grey area for him because of a decades long relationship, but surely this would have been hard to stomach.
I agree, it never made any sense to me at all. More logical would have been a story where maybe the actions of a Jedi caused some younglings to die and that's what triggers Anakin completely against the Jedi. Him just sayin ok, lets go murder some kids... it never worked for me.
Uh.. no? He felt betrayed by the jedi thought Palps was a good honest friend, trusted him completely, learned he was COMPLETELY wrong, tried to do the right thing and flat out murdered a jedi master to save the ultimate evil he was fighting for years.. I want them to make a game where this scene plays out with Anakin getting slaughtered, only to have him be replaced by three younglings in a trenchcoat, and the entire rest of the saga plays out exactly as before.
This is a mod for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. JKA has the best lightsaber combat and movie like combat. This mod is called Movie Duels which is a very cool mod with all the movies best action bits and even some from legends. There are even mods for the mods what add more to the mod in their discord server. Another for Mod for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is MBII (movie battles II multiplayer mod) which enhances the lightsaber combat even more but you not be able to kill skilled duelist easily, like realistically in the movies. So you can be a clone or anyone in the Star Wars games you wish to be. More than a thousand people play on a weekly basis. (MBII) Movie DUELS is single player and is a different mod.

I honestly never imagined the kids fighting Anakin with lightsabers when I first saw the movie. I thought he just murdered them in cold blood probably some tried running away.
What's sad is that fact that the younglings had training lightsabers meant to give slight cuts or burns. So even if they teamed up they probably wouldn't have done much to Anakin...
Hilariously, a bunch of kids who haven't mastered the lightsaber and are swinging wildly are perhaps more dangerous than a seasoned master. "You can't know what I'm going to do, if I don't even know what I'm going to do!"

Killing the younglins was such a cruel act that it shocked me. He went from having doubt to Hannibal Lector in a very short time span. This movie is so great. I always wonder how Anakin could have changed so fast and so quickly. But in a way that he did made this scene so shocking.
I mean.. He had killed children before this. And committed countless warcrimes. And voiced his support for dictatorships and rule through force. And shown a general apathy to outright disdain for jedi teachings and morals, to the point that I don't think there's even a single instance where he's faced with a choice between doing what's morally right Vs. doing what will get him what he wants and chooses to do the right thing. Didn't seem very sudden to me.

I think if there's one thing the prequels establish extremely well it's that Anakin and logic are not on speaking terms with each other.

The only thing that comes to mind is that he was reminded of his denial of the title, but that would only make him even more unlikable in the scene because the younglings have nothing to do with that and were addressing him respectfully. It comes off as resorting to extremes for something incredibly petty.

@@lquinx3241 nope - these are younglings, who receive training sabers, only Padawans seek out their first crystal on Ilum when they perform “The Gathering”. Green crystals indicate that a Jedi has a stronger link to the Force than other combat abilities or power, nothing to do with strength - just means that they lean in a certain direction. Anakin was the most powerful force user in existence, his saber was blue.

This raises the question of how many Younglings would've been needed to kill Anakin. In the movie scene we see seven, which obviously wasn't enough.
But even the strongest fighter can't win against an entire army of weak opponents. At some point they *will* overwhelm him by sheer number.
We saw that in Episode 2. The group of jedi in the arena were stronger than the dumb robotic soldiers, but they were eventually overwhelmed by the sheer number of attackers

I'm not sure any amount of children would be able to touch the strongest Jedi of the time
At this point, anakin was so strong he could use the force to murder maybe 100 younglings.
Though the comics HEAVILY hype up his power.
In the Gillard System, which measured the characters' combat level on a scale of 1-9. 1 was Youngling and 9 was Yoda, Sidious and Anakin(Darkside). There was a theoretical Tier 10, and it belonged solely to a Full Potential Anakin. Furthermore, it was an exponential scale.
I still feel that was a bit too much too soon… Anakin literally left the temple to arrest the chancellor and came back to kill younglings. No one falls that far that fast. Palpatine was a moral grey area for him because of a decades long relationship, but surely this would have been hard to stomach.

I agree, it never made any sense to me at all. More logical would have been a story where maybe the actions of a Jedi caused some younglings to die and that's what triggers Anakin completely against the Jedi. Him just sayin ok, lets go murder some kids... it never worked for me.
Anikan was extremely desperate and fearful for padme. Was willing to do anything palpatine said to do, to save her.
Uh.. no? He felt betrayed by the jedi thought Palps was a good honest friend, trusted him completely, learned he was COMPLETELY wrong, tried to do the right thing and flat out murdered a jedi master to save the ultimate evil he was fighting for years.. He literally says "What have i done?" and gives in realizing he has screwed everything up and all he has left is Padme.

This is a mod for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. JKA has the best lightsaber combat and movie like combat. This mod is called Movie Duels which is a very cool mod with all the movies best action bits and even some from legends. There are even mods for the mods what add more to the mod in their discord server.
Another for Mod for Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is MBII (movie battles II multiplayer mod) which enhances the lightsaber combat even more but you not be able to kill skilled duelist easily, like realistically in the movies. So you can be a clone or anyone in the Star Wars games you wish to be.
More than a thousand people play on a weekly basis. (MBII) Movie DUELS is single player and is a different mod.

I honestly never imagined the kids fighting Anakin with lightsabers when I first saw the movie. I thought he just murdered them in cold blood probably some tried running away.
What's sad is that fact that the younglings had training lightsabers meant to give slight cuts or burns. So even if they teamed up they probably wouldn't have done much to Anakin...

Killing the younglins was such a cruel act that it shocked me. He went from having doubt to Hannibal Lector in a very short time span. This movie is so great. I always wonder how Anakin could have changed so fast and so quickly. But in a way that he did made this scene so shocking.
The force was so strong in him that when he was corrupted by the dark side, Anakin lost who he was before.
I mean.. He had killed children before this. And committed countless warcrimes. And voiced his support for dictatorships and rule through force. And shown a general apathy to outright disdain for jedi teachings and morals, to the point that I don't think there's even a single instance where he's faced with a choice between doing what's morally right Vs. doing what will get him what he wants and chooses to do the right thing. Didn't seem very sudden to me.
