It’s like that one scene in Assassination Classroom. The yellow squid monster is doing attendance for the class he’s chosen to kill him, meanwhile the class is shooting him with automatic weapons, and the only acknowledgment he has to that is asking one student “Would you mind speaking a bit louder? I’m having trouble hearing you over the sound of the gunfire.”
I love how he just sits there and takes the hits just to flex and be like "Oh no, so anyway" It reminds me of the Daleks in Dr Who when they'll get peppered with bullets only to exterminate the humans once they realise that bullets dont do shit lol. So extra.
I just realized something today. Overlord's VA is Patrick Seitz, who also does the voice for Franky in One Piece (among other characters I cannot be bothered to name). Both characters got something blue (most of Overlord is blue, while Franky's hair is blue alongside his stars and his post-timeskip forearms), they are both machines (Franky is technically part machine, part human but you get the idea) and are large characters.

This Overlord is most likely based on his IDW counterpart, which he was turned into a phase sixer with a near indestructible "skeletal" structure. Only real way to take him out is to use the same metal used to enforce the structures of phase sixers (forgot the name). The wreckers tried to blow him up but it only really destroyed his armor plating.

He's so powerful and iconic in the show because in Masterforce (a japanese continuation of G1, but still canon) he had extreme firepower and in the tfwiiki he was mentioned as "a bot to be heavily feared on the battlefield." In this show he even makes Megatron his btch. I perosnally really like Overlord, def my favorite con, and I thorougly enjoyed the Prime Wars Trilogy back then

It's deceptively genial. He's talking in this casual, folksy Southern accent both when he's acting like a friendly fellow and he's committing depraved actions. Even at his most evil, he still seems charming and casual. That's what makes it menacing; the skin-deep affability barely masking if not channeling his cruelty.
In the comics megatron used a rare substance to create his super Soldiers and overlord was one of his best successful experiment and the that substance granted him super strength and incredible durability
