The over-slow is annoying, I agree, but I do like the series. I think it’s Megatron’s whole world-weary character and delivery plus Overlord being a sheer badass bastard.

You made me remember another thing I hated about this trilogy: what they did to my beloved dinobots, going back to the geewun characterization of "dumb slow lugs" forgetting how they were also unstoppable powerhouses. They get introduced as devastating, forming Volcanicus, a combiner so massive that Victorion barely comes to his chest, then suddenly comes in Predaking, keeping pace with him... and then... four on two, gets defeated and Sludge gets murdered, and solo Grimlock gets humiliated the rest of the show. Especially after reading IDW, I find this absolutely insulting.
I genuinely like the Mistress, but that’s only because of IDW. Also, I think her design looks kind of cool. Should get a toy, like a retool of Armada Starscream. Also Rip MatPat

I think I know why Overlord was “downgraded” while fighting Megatron. When he fought Mrs of Flames, he had the Matrix of Chaos on him; while fighting Megs, he’d given the Matrix to Rodimus. I think he kept some of the power if he was able to fight combiners and the Dinobots, but I think he did lose some power.

I honestly feel like Overlord should have been the villian in AOE with Lockdown as his second in command, Lockdown was scary but Overlord would have been terrifying. Lockdown beating Optimus in a duel in Hong Kong doesn't seem plausable to me but with Overlord that would be believable plus half of the movie is set in Texas.
I decided to rewatch the prime wars trilogy and I got so bored that I legit had to take a break and do something else, but when ever I saw overlord, I instantly got interested and loved it whenever I saw him on screen. Overlord carried titans return and made it slightly better
