I enjoyed the ride! It's Saturday morning coffee time before breakfast in Oregon USA. A nice video to start my day. I'm an older fellow also. I just purchased a 2025 XT250 and have been watching various videos. I wanted small, light, and still just fast enough for the open road, the XT250 seemed to be the right combination. Have a great day & thanks for the video 😊.
Hi danr1832, you've made the best choice ever! Besides other motorcycles I had the same Yamaha XT 250 in my garage 2 decades ago. As I decided to buy a motorcycle again in 2017 I decided to buy the XT 250 again because it was the bike with which I had the most fun and no problems. It's a reliable light weight ... have a great weekend, Christian ... PS: Running in Portland 5 am ua-cam.com/video/vpmON5FbHiY/v-deo.html
Hey Onkel Torben, yeah, this old XT is fun to ride especially on smaller roads ... I've refurbished the Yamaha over several month back in 2018, simply love that little dirt bike :)
Lucky one! ... only 10k km ... frankly I'm not sure this one has but I guess 36k km ... but it runs just fine. Bought now the camshaft with 22 PS and will put it in in the winter time. I'm curious if the Yamaha will then be really faster.
Yep, the XT 250 is just great to ride and is great designed. You say your bike is similar. Is it an XT or do you own a DT? ... as the coloring of my XT is made like the one from the DT3.
Hello! I am thinking of buying one of these for my 2nd bike for offroad and around town use. How do you like it? Is it easy to get the critical parts (tyres, chain etc)?
I still get all the parts I want for my Yamaha. Heck, I even bought a 22 HP camshaft and bearing as mine has the German 17 HP camshaft. Sealing putty or carburator repair set you can buy on ebay. I've made a video where I buy my parts, you can check it out if you want ua-cam.com/video/PC2RHf2L84o/v-deo.html
Einfach mal vom profil frischmachen lassen.
... Nope, die Sitzbank ist nicht verschlissen!

That was really fun to watch, such a great ride - thanks for letting us tag along. 😀
Best regards,

Nice to still see some video about this motorbike.
I have a red one from 1984 with only 10k km (6k miles) on it 😊

A man's toy! Good ride, love it! Xxoo Gigi
Yep ... and if I would have been more cautious with stock jobbing I still would have at least a hand full of those toys in my garage :(
Awesome bike and I have one very similar to your bike 😊
