No Mercy 2003 was the first WWE show I ever attended. I was 3 years old, with my mother. Nearly 20 years later I still remember Vince vs Stephanie. I'm surprised Lesnar vs Strowman 2017 didn't make the list. It was a huge disappointment. Especially after what happened at SummerSlam. Strowman had looked so dominant at SummerSlam and throughout the match at No Mercy, and one F-5 put him down.
I don't feel Alexa vs Naomi deserves to be here. And I didn't think Vince vs Stephanie was that bad. I'd suggest a few matches from No Mercy UK in 1999 that should have been here. Tiger Ali Singh vs Gillberg in a 65 second opener anyone? Nicole Bass vs Tori in 27 seconds? Kane vs Mideon?
Tony had no idea who Punk was and thought he was just some young prick. He had no idea Punk was the current ECW champion who was only at OVW to support his friends at the taping. Punk was not the one being disrespectful, that would be Tony Atlas. Who also mocked Punk for his wrist tape. I can see why Punk hated his time in WWE so much.
You're right, Mae Young was a LOT of a badass. The toughest old broad to ever set foot in a wrestling ring. She was like Mick Foley in that she'd do ANYTHING to herself to entertain people, all in good humour. One of the greatest female wrestlers of all time. Also, Vince deciding that he just _had_ to beat up and choke out his own daughter in the ring in front of his wife should have been considered proof positive that he's a sick, insane pervert who needs to be committed, and it happened _20 years ago!_ And before you come back at me with "it's just a story", it was a sick, stupid story that nobody needed or wanted to see, so the only reason it happened was because Vince really _wanted_ it to happen. Stephanie was so furious at him for forcing her to go through with it that she uninvited him, her own father, from her real-life wedding to Hunter (which makes me wonder who gave her away- possibly her uncle Roderick?).
Am I the only one who liked the Enzo-Neville match? The story of the match was so interesting. Neville, the Incredibly talented pro-wrestler who is good in the ring but lacks a connection with the crowd. Enzo, an entertainer who can have the crowd eating out of his hand, but can't keep up with the in-ring experience of Neville. The ONLY offense Enzo get in the entire match (besides the low blow) was his finisher, and that was because Neville got cocky. I get the match was still bad in retrospect, but the story was something I enjoyed
Man it's cool that you liked it and your analysis on the story behind it is top notch but I hated it. It felt like they didn't value the work Pac put into making that division work
