I bought one in July 1980 brand new.I still have it today .Only 12,000 miles so still looks like brand new. I’m 76 years old now, still riding it and will never part with it !!!! Just beautiful ❤
Hi Andy, thank you so much for your comment. Glad to hear that you still own and even ride this bike today. Take good care of it, stay healthy and keep riding safely!! Greetings from Germany!
@@cu5143 Good purchase, it is a very durable bike which does not require too much maintenance. Have fun working on it, kickstarting as well as riding it later!! Cheers and take care!
Saddle up ! Yeah got to get the rear end of the frame the previous owner before the last one decided to make a Harley look a like bike with the ST,so he chopped the rear , can’t seem to find info on the frame parts !
@@cu5143 Sounds like a bit of a bigger mission. Hope you'll find the needed parts somewhere, so your ST will be back on the road again soon!! Best regards & enjoy the build
I had the privilege of owning one of these for 16 years. Loved it to death, gorgeous machine and so faithful. I cried when I had to sell it. The guy that bought it ended up hitting some kangaroo's which brought about the death of my beloved ST. I still ride her in my dreams and always smile with fond memories of my time with such a wonderful machine.
Hi George, thanks a lot for your comment, I definetly appreciate it and fully agree with your opinion 👍👍! The ST really is a gorgeous machine that you can trust and I do love the model a lot as well 💚 The story about you having to sell your bike after 16 years and the crash seriously makes me a bit sad. I wish you could still have it, still ride it Down Under and still live those dreams 😊. Therefore, @all: if anyone in Australia has to sell a Z1000ST, please kindly get in contact with George and offer him a fair price, he will take the best care possible of that bike for the rest of his days in return 😉😉. Thanks again mate, have a fantastic day & best regards from Germany!!
Hi Mark, thanks a lot for your comment 👍👍 I am glad that you made this decision 💚, I would never give it away as well, if I were in your shoes 😉 Enjoy riding, stay safe & have a great day!!
My brother had one of these in silver, I took it out several times and loved it. It was a lot like my Z13, beautiful and smooth, excellent tourer, it just needed a fairing.
Hi Robert, thanks a lot for this comment as well 👍! It really is a great and very reliable touring bike and its design never fell out of time... You just have to love Shafty 💚 Take care & have a great day!
I had one of these from new. A great touring bike with a good fuel range. It was a bit on the heavy side and they weren’t famous for their handling, but they were reliable and the engine was bullet-proof. About the only mod I made, other than fitting Krauser panniers, was to put S&W Air Shocks on the back. These made a hell of a difference for two-up touring.
Hi Simon, thanks a lot for your comment as well as your remarks, which I could not agree more with... 👍💚 thank you also for the tipp regarding the S&W air shocks in the rear, which might help some guys on here to get their ride a bit more comfortable for their passengers... My father toured his ST quite a lot 😉😊 and I have to say, that equipped with a lugagge system of Hepco & Becker, it is an ideal classic tourer that will take you and your stuff where ever you want to go... Love Shafty 😍💚 Cheers, take care & have a fantastic weekend!
Although the Vmax is quite a treat, that sounds like a great decision 👍 👍!! I hope that you'll enjoy riding your good old friend shafty again 😉 Stay safe & greetings my friend
@@xl1200r Wow, that sounds like true love 😉 you should keep it, so your kids might be lucky enough to inherit it one day... 💚 PS: Good to talk to people, that acutally know how it feels to ride such a bike!! Best regards & have fun on the road!!
Nice video and cool Kawasaki, these old motorcycles were beautiful machines, just a little complain, it was a bit challenge to hear while you were speaking, you background music was quite loud and most of the time it overshadowed your voice and the sweet engine note. King regards.
Thanks mate 👍!! I agree that Sport Tourer or Super Tourer would also be appropriate as well as accurate descriptions of the bike, which might have influenced the decicision for the abbreviation ST... Best regards & ride safely!
Good remark, thanks mate! I thought about that as well and we will shoot more different angles, also some from the side when driving and filming the next time... have a great day & cu
First Comment! Woohoo! Great Video as always!
Hi Weizen, nice & thx!! Congrats, greetings & see u soon ;-)

I wish you had shot much more from the side. Mostly, this is from the van in that is ahead, and all we see is headlights. 😕

Narration is half-buried under the music - not easy to hear and understand
Mixing the audio is a pain in the butt, but you're right and I put more effort into it in newer videos... feel free to check those out as well ;-)
why talk like a robot?
Are you sure that it is not - indeed - a robot talking?? ;-)
