Don Poncher (Blue Mountain Eagle, Love, Funzone) Interview (6/30/24)

Don Poncher is an American drummer began as a teen honing his chops in country bands even playing with Tex Williams at the early age of 16. Over his career in music has played in the bands Blue Mountain Eagle, Arthur Lee & Love, Blue Rose and Funzone. During the 70’s Don worked as a session drummer and played on albums by Augie Meyers of Sir Douglas Quintet, Chris Jagger, Jim Price, Bobby Whitlock, Joe Cocker, Genya Ravan (Genya Raven), and even Lenny & The Squigtones! And you can hear his drumming on the soundtrack to the movie “American Hot Wax”. In the new millennium Don performed in the Just Imagine Live! A Tribute to John Lennon.
