Years ago, this music sparked an entire world that I drew characters to when I was in an awful place. Now I'm writing about it again and it's bringing me back to those bright moments. Love it!!
Veruliex Eskelvante if you du play games, i recommend plaing this song while setting sails in the game "guns of icarus" , a steampunk - based airship game !
Veruliex Eskelvante 100 % ! ^^ Wanna play together sometimes ? im a gunner, so if you get me close to those skyrats, ill blast em right off the skies ! arrr ! ;)
Why did this song just instantly speak to me the way it did? I've never gotten teary eyed from a song like this on the first listen... It's just beautiful!
I get chills every time I listen to this song. It actually inspired me to start writing a script for a feature length Live action dieselpunk themed film. And This would make a fantastic opening number :)
I am writing on a lovestory that takes place in the 19th century's Paris with a steampunk feel to it, and this song makes such perfect inspiration.. Thank you for uploading..
"Captain, Iron Rose spotted 200 Kilometers to the East of us." "All hands to battle stations. We have hostile ship inbound. They aren't getting this cargo without going through hell first." "Aye-aye Captain."
My favourite song by Clockwork Dolls. Who in his/her right mind COULD POSSIBLY dislike this masterpiece? (There are twenty-four people with extremely bad taste in music, obviously.) Anyway, I'd love to see first a novel based on this song - and then a film, or even a TV series. It is THAT good! Hats off, mad props & kudos to you, mates!
I picture a majestic looking galleon sporting a black flag with a bright red iron rose (as the name says) on it sailing the seas in the instrumental part of this great song when I listen to it.
Don't fight with us - you will not win -, but join us if you dare. The Iron Rose a-flying means danger in the sky; we fight for gold; we fight as one - for we will do or die. (Mr. Maine:) Onward! Left, left, left, right, left Left, left, left, right, left Battalions, draw your weapons! (Boots marching) (Unknown, drunk, whooping:) Hey 'er'one! I heard we're raiding a ship! Yeehoo! That's my boy.
Brady My Kitty I'm already on it :) Started my second book about a fantasy/steampunk/dieselpunk world last week. Good luck if you start to write, explore your emotions and fantasy well.
@AncientRights I can see where you're coming from and the instrumental bit is definitely strongest, but I don't mind the lyrics too much personally. What I really dislike is that "Hey, I heard we're raidin' a ship." "Yeehaw!" bit at the end. Just when the song has seemingly finished (and been awesome), that comes along and totally shatters the mood it left me in.
(Spoken:) (Mr. Maine:) Milady, two ships sighted off the port bow. (Iron Maid:) Do you have a bearing on them? (Mr. Maine:) Aye. It's the HMS Gallant escorting the frigate Caruso. (Iron Maid:) The Caruso! She's a two-hundred ton freighter, and reconnaissance has it that it's all spices and tea! Mr. Maine, mobilize the crew. You have ten minutes. (Mr. Maine:) Yes, milady. (Music) [See next post.]
(Mr. Maine (?), shouting:) Man all crew stations. Gunners, sight the propulsion engine. Boarding party, suit up and begin forming ranks. Raise the Iron Rose! You are not men! You are not women! You are an unstoppable force! And we will be reckoned with! (Sung, entire crew:) Abandon hope; the Iron Rose comes forth to claim her prize. We seek your goods; we seek your gold; we do not seek your lives. The Iron Maid who rules us, the Iron Rose we bear. [See next post.]
+Eva Rabbit Studio Ghibli is the name of a studio that makes several masterpiece animations. You'd be right to associate a song as beautiful as this with them.
this story seems to imply that every defeated surrendered foe is allowed to join the iron rose... couldn't possibly be true, too many crewmen to pay. they will inevitably maroon, or execute and hold for ransom many individuals...
Presumably some refuse, but more importantly crew members likely perish and those spots need to be filled. If you don't have access to conventional manners of recruitment this seems quite reasonable. They could also be paid in shares of loot, which to some degree circumvents any issue of having too many workers (they still need to be fed or at least be able to feed themselves, but there doesn't have to be expectation of systematic pay).
@@Infinite_Jester still doesnt make for a good answer. if they shared the loot, I mean do you want to split 20 bucks with like 15 people?... of course not.
@@robarans4866 That's exactly how most pirate crews during the golden age of piracy operated though. If you surrendered, you were given the option to join the crew. If you took that option, you were privy to shares of loot. It's also how businesses work. Albeit most businesses don't give out tantième directly, you, as an employee, are partaking in shares of profit. Finally, I don't think the song mentions how much they're making? I might not be eager to split 20 USD with 15 people for an hour of work, but if it was 20 000 USD for an hour of work I wouldn't mind a bit, even if my share was on the smaller side. Of course, historically, most pirates have been quite poor, but often that didn't stop them from continuing to be pirates.
Due to the cost of pressing Vinyl this song is not available on that medium, although we are debating the medium for future releases since Vinyl is kind of the best.
Dislike jokes have never, EVER, been witty. 0 dislikes only means that the video has not been exposed to a broader group of people so it isn't really much of an achievement.
It's available for free on bandcamp! You can find it on our website www.theclockworkdolls.com and click on "media" Dramatis Personae is a free download.
Full string section so bass, cello, viola, violin, harpsichords, brass sections including french horns, trombones, trumpets, woodwinds, timpani, cymbal, and snare. The instrument in the beginning that started everything off is a viola.
@ZZvonSchnerk Would you like a full instrumental cut of Iron Rose sans vocals? Shoot me a private message and i'll get a download link for you straight from Clockwork Dolls studios.
In my opinion: I like the songs from the album 'Dramatis Personae'. From melodie, choir, vocal, guitar, and plenty expression: but I want to thumb down for the poor viola performance. Those *squeek*s are so annoying and ruins all the aria led by the instument :( but from the other points of view, this piece and others did not disappointed me at all!
+The Clockwork Dolls Well, I'm preparing for art school-and when I entered there, I'm planning to re-arrange yer works LOL (At least I haven't uploaded any of my work on UTube until now)

Oh cooool
Honestly I'm in a similar position, although mine has more influence from other music as well
I'm still making characters and crap
Still waiting for the reveal of those stories. If its anything like the ones coming to my head each time i hear this, its got to be good
Please, where can I read it?
Dammit, this need to become a movie!
You are not men, you are not woman. You are a force to be reckoned with!

Darnit.
The Iron Rose sounds like it is a magnificent beauty.

Ahoy Iron Rose! Here's your Iron Heart! Sail to the glory!

Beautiful. I get shivers every time.

Izaya Orihara Haven't come up with one yet, that tends to be the last thing that I do.
I heard "we see your gold, we see your jewels, we do not see your eyes" . . .

Some of the strangest steampunk music I've heard, but damned awesome nonetheless.
love it

The first part of this music sound like the russian hymn.
and like Go West, and like many other songs, because all are based on Pachelbel's Canon

Can they please make a stage play out of all this album?
(If they already have, I would love to know where I could find footage)
this is my new battlesong since I've been promoted in my larp to a naval commander XP
This is very beautiful! TTvTT Can we use your music for our animation?

@NoraRaptors Yeah. Sounds familiar.
Pretty
wow ♥ sounds alot like Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy) ^^
Why do I know the music from the beginning of this song? I know it's taken from something else. Something probably old. I just... don't know what.
I think maybe Romeo and Juliet theme by Nino Rota?
The intro remembers me of an anime movie, ghibli i think, but i can't remember it. Help please?
+Eva Rabbit
The Castle in the Sky maybe

im pretty sure there is a quite similar song in "spirited away" ;)
Ghibli is the name of a studio, Joe Hisaishi is often a composer for Ghibli so maybe you're remembering of a sound authored by Joe Hisaishi instead.
People, try searching for " Reprise OST " of Spirited Away, it's similar
Did you know that the main theme at this track is taken from the anthem of the USSR?
Not intentionally.

I hear a bit of Pachelbel in there. Am I crazy?
It's definitely in there!

Sound like the main theme of Final Fantasy
This sounds like it would be great for a consort of violas da gamba.

@supressorgrid Air Kraken = Sky Squid.
More or less.
