  • *RIJEKA, CROATIA: Rijeka is the third-largest city in the country but not as famous as Split, Dubrovnik, or some beach towns. Its fascinating history creates a blend of Italian, Yugoslav, and Austrian heritage. Let’s go on a little tour and see if Rijeka, Croatia is worth visiting.

Jack, that was a great video! 😁👍👏 Thanks so much for sharing. I have a heart defect and would never be able to make that staircase!😮 I love how you shared as you discovered. So fun! I can’t wait to see more. 💗

    Great video!
I would just dispute the way you say Rijeka was never a part of Croatia until 1945. By that logic Venice was never part of Italy until 1945 either, or at least 1861...
I mean you do have the Kingdom of Croatia credited in the small table that pops up, but the short explanation is kind of misleading (although admittedly catchy)...

Was it easy to communicate with the locals? Just wondering how many people speak English in Rijeka.
I plan to visit in July.

I found it easier than Germany for English. Just about everyone I talked to spoke it fluently and I agree with Jack that it’s of a high standard in other Croatian cities as well. The locals also seem to like speaking English and are friendly as well.

11:30, Really? No way. Before eating, ask the staff, do they accept credit card, even though if they don't speak English.

Is there a beach in Rijeka?

    • @pogledajovo9062

Not in the city center but on West (Kantrida) and East (Pecine) parts are beaches reachable with city transport.
