Here's how you can do that if you don't have, or don't want to rent the engine hoist. Crank the tongue of the boat trailer all the way down an block the stern. Then crank tongue all the way up as far as it will go. Put a 4x4 across the bow on two 6 foot step ladders and then crank the trailer down to a level position. The trailer will now pull out from underneath. Once the trailer is out support the boat in the middle from underneath with blocking you can now remove the 4x4 and ladders. That's how I did mine. Total cost $0.00
@@carverrams24 Never thought to take a video. It was a lone time ago, but let me see if I can give you more detail. First put the boat where you want is to be. Second, crank the tongue jack down as far as it will go. The will lower the bow and raise the stern. Now use jack stands, or wood blocking to secure it's elevated position. Once that is done crank the trailer jack up as far as needed to provide clearance for the trailer to be be removed. Using two 6 foot step ladders and 4X4 beam long enough to reach between the ladder tops. Now suspend the bow of the boat from the bow eye and around the 4X4. At this point you can crank down the boat trailer until it's level and simply roll the trailer out.
Neighbours would likley loan your thiers. Might even help for a couple beers. And just buy a 4x4 from lumber yard then return when done.. I like this guy's idea real simple
I used to do this without the crane or jacks. The trailer jockey wheel is all you need, plus some timber to rest the boat on. Mine was a 25 foot hull with mercruiser stern drive, and I could lift it off working solo in about 30 minutes. Just think it through and you won't need all this equipment.
@@jeffsim8664 that's the small wheel at the nose of the trailer. It usually can be wound up or down to lift the nose onto the tow hitch. If you lower the nose of the trailer, you can then put blocks under the stern of the boat. Lift the nose really high and the boat rear is off the trailer. Get something to sit the bow on and then wing the nose of the trailer down. In two steps you have the boat off the trailer.
Looks like the hook in the hoist was sitting a little askew and the collar was not lined up in the arm. If you watch you will see the hook drop down as it makes the sound you are hearing.
yep just a few blocks and some wood to build up and protect your hull from the cinder blocks. all i did with the middle was build up two blocks just like the back and but a peace of carpeted wood and a rag between the block and hull and put it right in the middle of the keel. if you have a bigger boat i would definitely use jack stands instead of cinder blocks it would not be good if one of them broke and drooped the boat. you could do the same thing with stands just build them up with wood.
Good idea, I think I'll use this method when I put my Alumacraft away next winter, the trailer won't fit in the garage but the boat will. I plan on buying or fabing up a boat dollie system with wheels so I can wheel the boat into my garage. That'll save me over $300 month for heated storage.
Great video! My boat frame is being repaired today. I called someone, but in the future after I've moved into my bigger home, I just may do it all myself next time.
Set the hitch on the ground. It will raise the rear up. Place blocks under rear then raise hitch. Lift bow of boat then pull trailer out. Really simple.
the trailer had a few broken welds on the cross section and it finely gave way and the back and middle cross sections compleatly Broke off the fram leaving the boat resting on the fender of the trailer.
+Backwoods Lawncare I do like the javelin my grandpa had on it was a 373 or a 363 I think it had a Johnson 115 that only started went the boat started to sink
+Shocked Fishing I like the boat alot now the moter is a difrent story alot like your grandpa's boat it has a mind of its owen it only starts when it wants to haha. great riding boat tho very smooth ride and great in big water.
+Backwoods Lawncare yeah they were good boats one of the best boats I've been in but now my grandpa has a basscat saber and it is the smoothest ride I've ever had even over the wake from cigar boats

2 6 ft step ladders cost more then a chain hoist or cherry picker

Best video I've seen on this yet! Thanks!

Michael Powell please explain
Please make video.
What's a trailer jockey wheel?

Wow i wish this was the first video i clicked on. I used a front end loader on a tractor and this method worked perfectly.
Easiest is right! Thanks guys. I didn't have the engine crane, so I used a tree and a Come-Along Hand Cable Puller to lift the bow.
wow thanks, guys, I've got some work to do on my trailer, this is perfect
This is exactly how I do it most of the time. Good video.
EXCELLENT .. I HAVE HAD THIS SAME IDEA .. THANKS FOR SHOWING US HOW. I WILL DO THE SAME !
Great idea. This will come in handy when it’s time for me to bottom paint
Thanks man. Getting ready to go head first into a small sugar sand and this helped a lot
Genius!!........followed this method today and it was so easy and effortless. Thank you!!
Thanks very much for this vid. Will be doing this, this weekend on my Stratos.
Thanks for the vid! Need to do this myself.
no problem thanks for the support
3:58 what the hell was that?

Like the video! I need to do this. How did you shorten the tow strap to keep it in place?
Thanks, I just tied a bow knot in it and put it threw the front eye on the boat and thin hooked it to itself.
Great, thanks again!
through*, THEN* not THIN, you used the word thin in the video several times, that was fucking hilarious!
Awok Sling I can’t spell to save my life haha
It helps that you have the 12 foot Venom model there boys...!
Will it do same to stern drive 19 foot?
so what are all the supplies you used just 6 cinder blocks and some wood, what about the middle because it kinda skipped that part!
yep just a few blocks and some wood to build up and protect your hull from the cinder blocks. all i did with the middle was build up two blocks just like the back and but a peace of carpeted wood and a rag between the block and hull and put it right in the middle of the keel. if you have a bigger boat i would definitely use jack stands instead of cinder blocks it would not be good if one of them broke and drooped the boat. you could do the same thing with stands just build them up with wood.
Is that a two ton jack or a one .?
I have to say, you guys probably have best idea to get the trailer out in on movement.
Genius 😎🤣
Quickest And Easiest Way To Remove A Boat From A Trailer / fuck me it was so hard to watch this hahahaha
Thanks
good job..but try it without an engine jack..ugh
thanks !
TONGUE!
fun
That's cool and all but but ummm who has a engine hoist
Lol
The rental shop......
Oh come on just back up fast slam the breaks and be done.... or tie transom to a tree pull forward
lol @ "tong"
lol at his use of "thin" instead of "then".
Take it to lake off load boat into water pull to side out the way presto it’s off the trailer
Awesome, I have some crazy videos, but this looks good to me, I have to rebuild my trailer.

Thanks fir sharing a good hack
This was slick! Subbed
It's a trailer tongue, not a tong
Did you try backing in the water? 😵
aqua doctor I couldn’t the trailer had a broken cross beam wouldn’t have made the 30 minuet trip to the lake
How do you lifted the the back of the boat ?
Set the hitch on the ground. It will raise the rear up. Place blocks under rear then raise hitch. Lift bow of boat then pull trailer out. Really simple.
What year is your Javelin? I love my 400TE :)
its a 2001 javelin 18 venom
Why did you take it off in the first place
the trailer had a few broken welds on the cross section and it finely gave way and the back and middle cross sections compleatly Broke off the fram leaving the boat resting on the fender of the trailer.
you can kind of see in the end of the video I had a Rachet strap holding the cross section up
