Why does this video only get 7 minutes? Most TEDx Talks go for about 15 minutes? This is necessary information. Well done!

Most of this stuff starts at home, parents need to raise their kids, stop blaming the schools for parents lack of parenting

You have a point but children ARE children!
If you don't give children and teenagers the space to be emotional, go through ups and downs then what kind of world are we living in?!
White students get second chances 100 times and over.
Student was suspended with no warning whatsoever.
Schools with bed bugs, boarded up windows, who wants to go to a place like that? Put white kids in those environments and let me know how they fare.

yeah but who supports the parents? Who taught them how to be functional adults when they were kids?

Why should kids be doomed if their parents are failing them?

Behavior is mostly genetic, no "system" can dictate you moral compass. Doctors can predict the outcome of a child before it even leaves the womb. It is emotionally appealing to give the environment so much credit for behavior, it is a great narrative. But in all honesty, the truth is not always convenient

Please show me the scientific research that says "behavior is mostly genetic"

@@sjwu, right ? It’s mostly nurture. It’s circumstances , poverty, stress, single parenting and such that causes children to “act out “.

Is the bullet hole in the window the schools fault? No. It's the communities fault.
"Can throw an object over the wall and hit a teacher"? Why would anyone want to do that in the first place? Its a disaplinary problem not a building problem.

The kid who said he was having a bad day and sitting on the steps, something tells me that is only half of the story. He could have had multiple interventions in class left, and the principal was aware of all of this when he went to find him.

@@BiteThemBack75 Would you have said that if he was white?
did you even watch the entire video? Kids are being suspended for being on their phones.
Tell me where that happens in a white suburban school, in which kids are on their phones everyday in class.

Look at what I wrote. If the kid was white, I would say the same thing. And yes, if white kids do it over and over again, they are suspended as well.
