thanks for the great tutorial. I often add cutaway photos to overlay my videos but have not been able to figure out how to add the ken burns effect when I add them as a cutaway while using the iPad. Obviously very easy to do when using a MacBook. any suggestions other than working around by detaching audio from the main clip and adding the photos into the primary timeline?

The latest update on iPhone has moved the crop or zoom tool. Usually a magnifying glass icon, it’s no longer top right corner I need to edit a vertical video.

I try to split delete etc but it always comes back to the full movie project. I am doing the Pacific Crest Trail this year and want a simple editor for on trail editing. BUT the music trim annoyed me! I could not fully edit music as background. I learned to make it foreground and thought there might be another way. Looks like not! Thanks for the lesson. I simply reduce volume for the music.
What I see on my iphone (top bar) does NOT look the same. Is that because mine is older? Different? Where can I find the top 3 functions there in the upper right? (I have automatic upgrades selected so that's not it)

Yeah there’s no wavelength button on mine so I can’t detect the silent moments in my video unless I listen carefully which takes up time. I’m also on the 14 Pro current iOS. They need to fix this.

Great information, I have made a video and done the edit on my iPad Pro using iMovie which is almost complete but the problem I have is at the end of the time line I have inserted a selection of still photos from the same iPhone I used for the videos and tried to insert music which is from the same Apple Music in iMovie but it will not work and I have tried everything doe’s anyone have any ideas why this happens please.
I tried to export some drone photage from my DJI Neo (4K, 30 fps, H.265) in iMovie on my brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max, and it came out all choppy, when I came home i did it in Final Cut Pro, it worked without a hitch. The original clip from the drone is not choppy, only when I export from iMovie. Has anyone experienced this? I don't want to drag my computer all the time if I don't have to.
why does my imovie look different? i dont have that recently added thing on the right side of my screen and all the tools are on the bottom, i cant change the volume separately for each clip, it automatically changes for all of them. pls help
@@FasterSpeedCubing I don't need to zoom I need to edit. Where are these functions? Is my phone just that much older (my phone updates iMovie automatically so that's not it.) And... there is no "clip" unless you're talking about the film clip. So bummed
@@KOPPAkop I'm thinking we have to jump ship and find an app that works with OUR phones.... very disheartening but I'm in a bit of a hurry now and I think the videos are all out of date. Unless, perhaps, you know someone who is using it and has the same phone that you do. Ugghhhh technology! So great and so frustrating!

Instead, i just split the clip and make another text on the new clip.

Same here. What my iMovie looks like compared to his are totally different.
You need to press on the clip and then it will enable you to pinch to zoom
