Bitch, I'm back by popular demand and with TWO channels! WTA videos from 2016 till now will be posted on TheMsharapova9 and WTA videos until 2015 will be posted here on TheMsharapova8.
U are amazing for doing these and Im so so jealous of your collection...I have missed them so much. Can you get some of Venus's 2008, 2009 and 2017 Wimbledon matches up?
Yes, and I think Wang Qiang plays a lot like her nowadays. Her smart redirection of Serena's power and fearless shotmaking while on the run are what won her their Australian Open third round match after getting blown out by Serena at the US Open just a few months prior.
Not many players are able to take the ball so early against Serena as consistently as Zheng always has against Serena. Zheng was reading Serena’s serve so well and taking every return so early. Credit to Serena for upping the level of her serves and finding a way to take back control of the rallies!
And how many major titles does Zheng have? ZERO!!!!! Making your opponent play hard is not the same as beating your opponent. Serena sent the bitch packing. LOL
I loved their match-ups. Serena's killer serves and attacks from the baselines, Zheng's returning and counterpunching with her great reflexes and quick feet, also getting to the net every now and then. Williams destroying weaker second serves is also entertaining, I must say. A joy to watch, thanks for posting!
Yeah much like Vika. If she gets her racquet on it then she's gonna do something good with it. Serena aced the st*t out of both of them in this tournament but they made her work when they got their racquets on it.
Nothing to do with fear but instead anticipation and timing/hand eye co-ordination. Azarenka, Zheng, Dementieva, Davenport, etc all had great returns. Would react quickly but also get the return deep to the baseline.
@@user-gu1un7pb7k Perhaps fear is the wrong term. Instead let's say it's intimidating. As a former college player and a current college coach, I can tell you that facing an opponent with a huge serve is an intimidation factor that affects your mental game in many ways. It makes you lose confidence because you know that no matter how good of a returner you are, it's going to be incredibly difficult to get the ball back deep in the court, let alone break her serve. It's frustrating, discouraging, and for some, intimidating causing them to completely lose confidence in their return game. However, players like Vika, Zheng, Capriati, Hingis, etc. as you mentioned, were great returners, but also had fantastic mental toughness to go with it. They understood that they had to be patient and wait for their opportunities - which is way easier said than done. That's why they had success compared to players like Sharapova, who severely struggled against Serena in their careers because of the lack of return game and self-belief. I agree with what you are saying, but I also believe there is a mental factor. Does that make sense?
Loved Serena's journey in the Wimbledon of 2012. Started the tournament a kind of anecdotal favourite (as she always is) and then gradually improved with every round despite some inspired opponents and honed that serve to dominant perfection until she arrived at the semi finals the bonafide favourite for the title. Radwanska did extraordinarily well to give her a match at all in the final- even whilst being ill!
This was a tough match. Serena will always have that power and Zheng was no pushover. Serena got quite a few free points and games with aces and Zheng made Serena fight for it! I like this because it showed us two tough players in different ways. They were pushing eachother to the limit!
1:39-49 Two great points 2:13 Much needed shot 2:45 Almost.... 3:26 Wow 3:50-3:58 One hell of a point 4:16 That hurt... 4:35 Had to work for it 6:37 She hustled for that point 7:05 She was NOT playing around 7:27 Beautiful shot! 8:45 Good comeback 10:22 I'm bug eyed after that shot! 11:09-11:39 Good shots and points

Great fight for Serena, and for showing the absolute phoniness of the bogus trope about the women on tour being so intimidated by Serena, they can't beat her,and her supposedly weak apponents, just sad agenda filled anti Serena lies. Serena's apponent who played a great match threw the kitchen sink at her( Like many have done, these are the type of matches Serena has won to get to 23 Grand Slams) and still lost, credit to SW for digging deep again and again against different decades/ generations with great success 👍👏😊
Serena played BPs with extreme intelligence. Loopy deep balls instead of flatter ones. When she did that, she had a lot of success, when she did not, she struggled. She never lost her serve in this tight match, which had to feel good.
I don’t play tennis at all but I sometimes imagine if Serena offered me a million dollars to return one of her serves in a properly scored match I wouldn’t win the million 😂 those serves are frightening!
Jie Zheng was the stone in the shoe of many tennis players in those times, but incredible of her even more because it did not allow Serena to win decisively and made her deepest performances come out and thus win this match. However, Jie Zheng lost her sanity with the balls returned by Serena, even when she had the service, Serena managed to break it. The credits are taken by the Chinese, since she managed to destabilize Serena, despite the fact that american will take the full match. IMHO!🎾
addy phoenix Nothing to do with their height. Both those players absorb pace really well and they’re both good movers. Serena tends to have the most trouble with counter punchers who move well and can redirect pace. Henin was one of her biggest rivals. Halep destroyed her at Wimbledon using the same strategy.
In 2015 WADA notified athletes that meldonium will be banned in 2016. That was the last year that Zheng Jie played a professional match. I personally don't think it was a coincidence but I don't have any proof one way or the other. Watching Zhengs Jies game transform over the years from what it was to what we see in this video was like watching Sharapova inexplicably go from "cow on ice" to 2 time French open champion. A real headscratcher.

That serve man! Serena is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME.
you go all the way thinking you got this until she crushes your heart and your soul..
Never a fan of this arrogant bitch, who wants to shove the ball into an asian lineswoman’s mouth. Serena is a bully. She love white pistol.
Jie was always so much fun to watch. Great movement and anticipation and the ability to absorb and redirect pace so well.
Yes, Zhen Jie is one of my favorite plays in WTA. She run so fast, so smart and never give up!!!

If Serena can find her nerves of steel like these matches oh my... I miss this engaged Serena
She has it except in Finals. She really just need to remove all the outside noise
She needs to get back down to this weight so she can move! Her coach said she’s almost back at her fitness where she wanted to be

Giovanni he did an interview I think Auckland?
Zheng was really one of the few people unafraid of Serena’s serve.

Zheng Jie should’ve won a slam. Shame she lost against Henin in 2010 AO semi final

She literally won 1 game vs Henin in that SF
So incredible!!
