My wife has an iBuyPower PC, during the great GPU shortage it was cheaper to buy the whole system from iBuyPower than it was to buy just the GPU from scalpers. Thank you iBuyPower for not doing stupid markups.

I used a competitor, but I did the same thing during the GPU shortage. I took the CPU, GPU, SSD, and cooler and upgraded my PC with them. Sold the rest of the parts locally. Really saved me some money AND it was well assembled!

Had a great experience over all with both of my Ibuypower PCs. One suggestion is making some of those Ibuypower parts available for out of warranty repairs later. My Ibuypower AIO cooler quit 4 years after I got my PC (not out of the norm for that to happen) and when I tried to order a new one with the Ibuypower branding I was told those were only available for the new systems being built or warranty repairs. I literally was saying "Ibuypower take my money!" and the answer was no. Ended up ordering a kraken AIO through someone else.

I applaud that you were willing to let cameras into your facility at all, it shows that you have at least some confidence in your processes. Though I do have a question regarding (I believe) an MR Slate 104 I've seen at a local store of mine. I noticed that the shelf model had only one stick of ram in it and to my knowledge you should never have less than 2 unless you want to bottleneck a system by limiting the bandwidth of the ram. Is that simply a leftover prebuilt that is no longer representative of current ones or is there something else going on that I missed? In my mind, if you're buying a system that north of 1000 dollars like that one is, dual kits of ram should be so standardized you don't even need to think about it especially given how cheap some dual kits of ram can get despite having solid specs and capacity.

Since IBP are going to be reading these comments, I just want to say good work and thank you guys. At the beginning of the pandemic, I specced a PC and had it shipped to my almost completely tech illiterate sister-in -law. It arrived in perfect condition, it was easy to set up and it enabled her to work from home and continue to make money for her family. It also introduced her to gaming, which she has continued to enjoy. I've always built my own machines but I bought a Y60 case to build my son's music production system in. I could have gone with a generic case since the machine is not used for gaming but he wanted a bit of flair. I was really impressed with both the cool design and the quality of the case and so then I built my wife's machine in the elegant Revolt 3 which she absolutely loves. Finally, I've just finished my new machine in the flaming red Y40 and it looks fantastic. Once again thank you IBP from our family for producing great products and thank you Jay, Phil and Nic for producing an informative video. BTW Phile, nice work on the in-video titles. Nicely done.

Ahh but maybe you haven't thought of the secondary benefits. If you build a machine for family then you are tech support forever. I got my sister-in-law to buy an IBP machine that I specified on their website I then sent IBP and her the spec. She ordered it and they delivered. Now if she has a problem then she 'must' call IBP because I can't 'touch' their machine.

    • @reubenmorris487

It's not terribly difficult learning to build your own PC. Assembly isn't too hard, buying the tools isn't too expensive, and you're in charge of the quality control. Troubleshooting kinda' sucks sometimes if you're not a software engineer or don't understand how to partition drives without wiping your OS, hard to know if you broke something of if the part is defective...but yeah. I'd much rather build my own custom rig even with the tedious PITA parts of the process.

    • @megapet777
      @megapet777 2 місяці тому

@@PaulLemars01 and the third benefit, you get warranty for the entire system. If something breaks you dont have to troubleshoot it yourself. Most people dont even have extra parts laying around for troubleshooting.

Thank you to you, Jay, for showing us what takes place behind the scenes, and big thank you shout out to iBUYPOWER for letting Jay show us what goes on behind the scenes. Not many a company would let the public do that. Note: I have been to one other mass market computer builder's warehouse many years ago. They were accommodating, of course, but also cautious on answering questions, such as burn-in time for their systems. Appreciate the access iBUYPOWER.

Only thing I replace was the cooler and I upgraded to a 3070. Only regret I had is I wish I bought a bigger case. I recently bought another computer from another manufacturer (only because it was a great deal) but when I had the blue screen to death and call the manufacturer of a possible defective part they told me that the part was bought on Amazon I wasn’t to happy nevertheless. Needless to say my next purchase will be with Ibuypower. Thank you to all the technicians for their fantastic work.

That sucks having your computer fried. :( I've always had my computers (server, PCs, printers, network hardware, etc.) on an UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), such as one by APC or Tripplite. I'm currently running my laptop, printer, and powered USB hub on a surge protector that handles over 4K joules because we have frequent outages up here in Alaska during the long winters. You can get a small APC Office UPS that'll give you enough time (~5-10 minutes) to shut down during outages, or to handle a brief brownout that doesn't cost a whole lot. I've been working on computers and electronics long before Jay was born (was an Electronics Tech in the Navy back in the '70s & '80s, then earned my BSCE and BSEE degrees after that).

Great company! I have purchased two IBP in the past because it was actually cheaper for me to spec. out what I wanted from them than to build my own. Their customer support is also on point. The second system I bought for my son, and the GPU went out about a month after he got it. I called up tech support spoke to an American that actually worked in the same building the system was built in. He took me though couple trouble shooting step confirmed it was GPU. IBP overnighted a new GPU and I sent the defective one back didn't have to pay for shipping or anything.
This past year I built a new high end system after owning the IBP for 13 years (Yes I had upgraded everything but the case and PSU a couple time) but the first thing I did was go to IBP and spec out a new system to compare cost versus self building. This time it was cheaper to build my own and there was a specific GPU and case I wanted that IBP didn't carry. However, I will definitely consider buying from them again.

It was a standard prebuilt, kinda low end for the small bit of money I had at the time, but the computer got me through it and helped in getting me accustomed to modern pc parts, new lay outs, and upgrade paths I could take. Sadly my AIO died after maybe 2years but luckily by then I had looked in to upgrades and planned for a new self made custom build which is crushing it now. For a basic pre built it was a good pc and got handed down to family for their basic needs and I do not regret that purchase a bit.

I currently use an iBuyPower system i bought pre pandemic and still use. My old system (an Asus branded prebuilt) had inexplicably died and this was a ready made that was extremely competitively priced and i don't regret getting it. After many years of usage, she still runs well and problem free. I'm thinking of upgrading this summer and honestly, I might get another iBuyPower system if the prices are still really competitive because the experience has been very good. I think the most impressive thing is how dust free my case is because the system came with magnetic dust shields. The old Asus system was embarrassingly choking on it's own dust by the time it gave up. As long as the quality stays good and the prices remain competitive, I'll probably step into another iBuyPower system.

After seeing the this video I am more likely to recommend selecting parts and having ibuypower put the machine together. Assuming the price difference isn't too crazy.

While I doubt I will purchase from IBP as I build my own, this is honestly a great video because I have friends who want a PC but don't want to build and if I can send them this so they can see what they're buying instills a huge confidence when they're buying.
It was also fun to go through their process. I appreciate this kind of vlog style content. I appreciate this.

I bought an IBP in 2020. Not as high end as I would have like but within my budget and knowledge at the time. I have found the system to be very stable over the years and still is today. I use it exclusively for just internet these days. 2 months ago, I bought an Asus with quite a bit more bells and whistles and have had nothing but one issue after another with that system.

I bought an ibuypower from bestbuy in 2019 and it ran better then most of my friends pcs they built them selfs. I have slowly upgraded it so now there’s not much left of the original but the ssd. But my wife wanted to get into pc gaming and I knew right away we were going with Ibuypower for her pc. 2 years later all I have upgraded is the ram. I’m looking to buy a stream pc and you guessed it going to be from ibuypower once I can afford another pc. Keep up the good work and thank you jay for going behind the curtain and just showed how amazing they are!

My PC now is just consistently upgraded from an old compaq presario that I had back in 2006. Sure there's nothing left of the old computer, but everything was an upgrade from something.

Bought my previous PC from iBuyPower. With the exception of the RAM & Power Supply, everything was better, more powerful, and most importantly up to date, then the one I had somewhat custom built previously. Simply switching out the RAM and Power Supply was easy enough. I still have most of the parts, I gave the Power Supply to a friend of mine, but I do plan on having a second PC for Recording or Server purposes. Just need additional storage. I had zero issues with it, it worked fine, looked nice, nothing was broken or malfunctioning, I just did what every PC enthusiasts ends up doing and upgrading.

The guts are still kicking as my nephew's PC, and as I just built my nephew a gaming PC for his birthday, it's going to be repurposed again for a family friend. So far, it's gone through four different casual gamers, and I'm impressed it's still going. I believe fans, PSU, case, and hard drive have all been replaced. It will reach the end of its life when Windows 10 retires, and we'll probably reuse it as a Linux-based NAS drive or media center.

As someone who has been build a system for more than 10 years, I tell you most prebuild is still better than DIY by someone with no clue on how to build a system. If you're new just start with a prebuild then learn from that, you can start by doing some diagnostic whenever your system gone wrong and stuff. The amount of people come to the shop to fix what they build is staggering.

Honestly it’s a small problem if you’re experience it’s a simple fix, but you gotta look in a POV of people who are new to all of this. The most important skill in building a PC is diagnosed what is wrong and then you can find plethora of fixing method online.
