      Maybe because so far only Mysaria was giving her good council. In episode 5 whole council was complaining, then she asked them: what you would have me to do? and they basically did not have answer.

    the scene of rhaenyra watching the bastards die, so stomach churning to me. yes, she told them they must be prepared to die, but there was something in her eyes while she was watching them burn, and hearing their screams tht was gut wrenching. it was sinister. also, rhaenyra has NEVER cared for the smallfolk, and her basically preaching to them before their dying def fed into her superiority complex.

    This Rhaenyra is way more interesting than F&B Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra being Targ Cult leader is amazing. People always used to say Rhaenyra is both Viserys and Daemon. This episode proves that she inherited the bad parts of them.

    Again, love how you guys hold both sides accountable. On dam near every other channel, there are people who speak of Rhaenyra like she can do no wrong. One even saying "Well, all of those people willingly gave their lives"... totally ignoring the fact that Rhaenyra had obviously told her guards to NOT let them leave - therefore killing them as WELL as her guards. And nobody seems bothered that RhaeRhae just handed NUKES over to people she don't even know - therefore does not know that she can fully trust. I mean... this Ulf guy doesn't seem like the most responsible human. lol!

      Targaryen Exceptionalism, a more prominent example of this is on Targaryen incest. it's not acceptable for rest of the realm,b ut because it to keep the Targ blood "Pure" and blood of the Dragon to claim Dragons, certainly Targaryen Exceptionalism is seeped in Dragonlord exceptionalism of Old Valyria, the funny thing is Targaryens were only lesser influential of the Dragonlords, after the Doom it gave them all the monopoly on Dragons.

    Yay, New Podcast Episode! Honestly, I'm just watching for the dragons at this point. I feel like this season has been a bit off, clunky, and too slow. The writers are making some weird decisions. The actor for Corlys is being criminally under used, maybe he'll get more next season. More could have been written for Baela and Rhaena. Weirdly, they refuse to address the Laenor situation. Did he die off-screen in Essos? Does Corlys still believe Rhaenyra and Daemon had Leanor Killed? How does Corlys feel about his other son claiming his dead son Laenor's dragon? I expected more of a scene then Corlys saying "well done" and then walking away. I feel like the audience need these answers and its irritating. I know the book is an unreliable retelling but why do they keep cutting away from the drama? For example the aftermath of Rhaenys' death: in the book Corlys is angry because Rhaenyra sent her alone (Rhaenys didn't volunteer to go) and He says "It should have been you" (as in it should have been Rhaenyra who died). I mean talk about a missed opportunity. Also Hugh's daughter dies off-screen why not show that? The season had some cool moments but overall, each episode fumbled something.

    I do not like what they did with Jacaerys because this is NOT who he was in book - yes, he makes good points to Rhaenyra in this episode but that is NOT whom he was. Book Jacaerys was complete opposite, he was ALL for bastards on dragons, it was Rhaenyra who was distrustful, not him! It was Rhaenyra who insulted one girl because of her lowborn heritage, not Jacarys. Rhaenyra did not participate at all in Dragonseeds thing, it was all Jacaerys. He also welcomed Alyn and Addam into family with open arms, not with distrust on face. Jacaerys's bastardy in book was more ambigous (Velaryons were white and Laenor's mother had dark hair), but rumors were present nonethless and I always thought Jacaerys was so supportive of other bastards to show that it is ability and graceful character that makes someone worthy, not paternity. Book Jace wanted to tell world: "Maybe I am bastard, maybe I am not - and so what? I will show you strength of actual bastards and you all will be sorry you ever underestimated both me and them!!! Dragons are gods and do not care, why do you people care?!" 🐲🐲🖤🖤🖤🖤❤‍🔥❤‍🔥❤‍🔥 I wanted to see THAT Jacaerys, that noble, brave and open minded (even if bit too trustworthy towards his new riders 😅) boy who is unapologetic about his look 🧑🏻 and gonna make the best of it, not is ashamed of this.💔💔💔

      It makes more sense for Rhaenyra to Have executed this and Jace to feel it challenging.

    • @pendragonsxskywalkers9518
      @pendragonsxskywalkers9518 Місяць тому

      @@SonderDAzeX I just have explained to you why it doesn't. 🤦🏻‍♂ Book Jacaerys clearly wanted to show people that bastards can be chosen ones too and god-like creatures like dragons do not care. Jacaerys' message was: "Me and all those people are worthy, no matter who our parents are". If they wanted give Rhaneyra more role into this arc, fine, but they could did its without Jacaerys being ellitist. Jacaerys in source metrail clearly did not see himself as 'challenged' - quite opposite, he is respetful and kind towards bastard becaus he knows how it is to live with whisperes behing your back and constantly trying proving yourself. What they did is deliberate demonization of male character and painting female character as open minded and more sympathethic.

    • @pendragonsxskywalkers9518
      @pendragonsxskywalkers9518 Місяць тому

      @@SonderDAzeX "It makes more sense (...) Jace to feel it challenging" - It would also make perfect sens Jacaerys being supportive of other bastards like he was in source material. because of him knowing how it hard it is to appease world with rumors around you. By giving worth to illegitimate children in eyes of people, Jace would also this worth also to himself. There was no reason to make him like he was in last episode expect for clear trying to make the most positive male character look bad.

  • @pendragonsxskywalkers9518
    @pendragonsxskywalkers9518 Місяць тому

    I think Jacaerys in this episode is example of how HotD try to make all women look positive and all men problematic. 😞😞Jace was in book example of healthy masculinity and in show was so far too - and now they basically flipped his mother's flaws on him making him distrustful towards lowborn riders, when in book it was he and he alone who made Dragonseed sawing happened and it was his mother who was wary 😭😭 😒😒😠😠 It's not the first time they did this in show - they made Alicent victim of all men around her and they made Princess Rhaenys into voice of reason she was not in book (remember scenes in season 1 finale when Daemon names all dragons they have and urges to attack King's Landing? So... in book it was Rhaenys who counted all dragons and was ready to fight - Daemon was supporting Rhaenyra that they should act with caution 😂😂😂😂).
    I was looking to see Jace as active and couragous Prince this season but they distorted his whole storyline by constantly putting him in background, giving his line to others and now they switched his personality with his own mother and making him looked down upon lowborn. 😔😔💔💔

      @@SonderDAzeX Not at all. If someone calls people "mongrel" (and himself is genetically "mongrel") that is beyond controversial. Rhaenyra called lowborn "courages" and so far was shown to treat them with respect.
