“Woe be to you, who told you to do so?” They replied: “Our lord (Kisra) did!”

@@JesusChrist_313 perhaps our Prophet pbuh grew it longer also but the beard has to be beautifully groomed as it is an adornment from Allah like long hair is for women. Cannot grow it like a wild animal and call it Sunnah. Large numbers of Salafists have misunderstood the text and failed to groom their beards correctly and ended up making their beards look ugly and their faces look strange, in the name of Sunnah. They are so foolish and Allah has shown it in their appearance as well. The moment the beard starts looking strange or repulsive know you are no longer upon Sunnah because Sunnah can never be ugly.
Where's fighting? Inside his beards.even his beards looks like Hindu monarchs. Where he is a warrior? In the occupied lands of the Palestine 😅?
All legitimate differences of opinion in Islam have a basis in the Quran and Sunnah. This means every group has evidence to support its stance. For example, when the Shafi'i madhhab says that touching one's spouse breaks wudu, they have their evidence. Similarly, when the Hanafi madhhab says it doesn't, they also have their evidence.
The issue with some Salafis is that they pick the opinion they agree with and try to delegitimize the other side by claiming their position is closer to the Quran and Sunnah. In their six-year Madinah course, you don't study the usul (principles) of the Shafi'i or Hanafi madhhabs. So, on what basis can they really assess the evidence of each side?
Even scholars like Ibn Baaz, Ibn Uthaymeen, and Albani disagreed with each other on issues like prayer, each providing evidence for their views. You can't just dismiss other opinions that don't align with your own. Each scholar has the right to form an opinion based on their understanding of the relevant hadiths and Quranic verses.
Take wudu, for example. Allah (SWT) says, "wipe your heads" (waamsahu bi-ru'usikum). Scholars disagreed on the meaning of the word "bi" here, which led to differing opinions on how much hair needs to be wiped to fulfill the obligation. These differences exist because scholars interpret the texts differently.
That isn't quite true. Each madhab takes rulings in different ways.
For example, Hanafi and Maliki can also take 'Urf into account when passing a ruling on issues. The other two don't.
I personally know a Sheikh of each madhab that are Salafi.
The only thing that the Salafi do is that they don't take anything after the last of the three generations of Muslims.
The Hanafi School
The great Hanafi jurist, Imam al-Haskafi (Allah have mercy on him) states in his Durr al-Mukhtar:
“It is unlawful for one to trim his beard….And as for shortening it when it is less than a fistful, as some North Africans and effeminate men do, this is something no one (i.e. of the Hanafi scholars) has said is permitted.”(See: Radd al-Muhtar ala al-Durr al-Mukhtar, 2/113, Kitab al-Sawm)
This position is also confirmed in other works, such as al-Bahr al-Ra’iq, Fath al-Qadir, al-Fatawa al-Hindiyya, Bada’i al-Sana’i and al-Ikhtiyar.
Shafi'i:
To trim the beard is also disliked. It is not forbidden, as can be inferred a fortiori from the ruling regarding shaving the beard (if it is not forbidden to shave the beard, how can it be forbidden to trim it?). Ibn Hajar says in his Tuhfa:
many prominent Shafi‘is (al-Halimi among the early Shafi‘is and al-Adhra‘i, Ibn al-Rif‘ah, Zayn al-Din al-Malibari, and Ibn Ziyad among the later ones) have taken the opinion that it is forbidden. As such, the way of caution in one’s religion would be to keep a full beard.
“The outword purport (dhahir) of what our imams say is that it is unconditionally disliked to trim the beard.” (Tuhfat al-Muhtaj, 9.376)
-Hamza Karamali and Mostafa Azzam.
An example of of people making things up without evidence is when the Shafi'i scholars mentioned the following:
"I have heard through Shaykh Amjad Rasheed of Amman (who studied in Hadramawt), that the Shafi‘is of Hadramawt say that someone who grows hair on his chin is legally considered to have kept a beard. As such, a goatee would minimally fulfill the sunna of keeping a beard, although it would obviously be superior to keep a fuller beard."
There is no basis for this ruling in the Qur'an or Sunnah

Interesting. I've heard that once the beard reaches the one fist, then it's allowed to be trimmed. as in, not only during hajj, but also outside. So let's say you've been growing it five six years, and it's reached a fist, then you can start cutting anything over that. But Allah knows best

Man, cut your beard according to the sunnah. As far as I remember learning and reading.
The ruling for us muslims is have a distinct look. Thats why prophet pbuh advised us to part of hair on the right side as the christians used to part the hair on their left side.
We are advised to cut our beard and mustache and look neat and tidy bcz the jews would let their beards grow out of order. The persian would let their mustaches grow out of order.
This is the first time I am seeing this sheikh, i dont know anything about him. I am posting this without any malice or ill intention. Just letting yall know what I belive and what I have read.
Don't resemble the jews and christians, cut your beards to an appropriate length just like you cut your hair to an appropriate length. Khallas
What is the proof the messenger trimmed the beard? We have clear cut revelation from the messenger that he said trim the moustache and let the beard grow/flow
@@Randomhandlename trim or no trim, thats not even the point .prophet pbuh advised us to not resemble jews or christians. Thats enough for us. We read and we believed. That hadith was not for that time only, its forever. Do not resemble jews. That why we trim our beards and our mustaches and to keep ourselves from not looking like jews.
Our deen is wasata. The moderate way. The middle ground. Having a haphazard style of beard is against the lifestyle of prophet pbuh. Anyone with even the basic knowledge of seerah would tell you that growing beard indefinitely is against the mizaj of prophet pbuh. What? You want all muslims to grow the beard till the knees?
@@Randomhandlename Let the beard grow/flow till infinity? You need to make your beard look proper and clean. The beard should be long that you can crab your beard in a fist.
@@r3al1200 beard being extremely long is a rare case for men even then cutting it fist length the beard is not flowing. In rare cases islam even allows a person to eat pork because of difficulty, exception is not the general rule and there’s no proof from the messenger for beard being long where one can grab it with a fist
This video has come up on Recommendation Few times. The thumbnail made me laugh every single time. It's a perfect meme material.
We will see who will laugh on the day of judgement
Muslim (2344) reported that Jaabir ibn Samurah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to have a very hairy beard.”
An-Nisaa’ (5232) reported from al-Baraa’ that he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had a thick beard; according to another report, he had a bushy beard; according to another report, he had a wide beard.
Yeah wide not long as this dude has in the video
anything over a fist's length is an innovation, and the practice of shortening was the practice of the Companions, and of most schools of law and scholars later
But there are hadith to the effect that the Messenger alayhi al-salam took from the length and the width of the beard and that is narrated by al tirmidhi for example. Secondly, it is narrated that the Messenger's beard alayhi al-salam was a fistful, not longer. Thirdly, the Sahaba who narrated to let the beard grows were the exact Sahaba who trimmed it at the firstful, including Ibn Umar who was known to be firm on the sunnah. Surely, the Sahaba's own understanding must be taken and not a modern interpretation.
What is the Evidence for this empty claim of yours that messenger himself had fist length? It seems like you have hidden knowledge no one else has. And what ibn umar did is not proof rather proof is clear cut from the messenger himself he said trim the moustache and let the beard grow/flow ibn umar opposed this we follow the messenger
@@Randomhandlename you don't follow the Messenger alayhi al-salam, nor the sahaba. You follow your own understanding.
Narrated 'Amr bin Shu'aib:
from his father, from his grandfather that he Prophet (ﷺ) would take from his beard; from its breadth and its length. (Al tirmidhi).
The beard is not some kind of Holy relic in Islam. It is in Judaism and in Sikhism where people grow these lengthy beards.
Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever adopts e resemblance of a people is one of them." Sunan Abī Dāwūd.
So we much distinguish ourselves from the disbelievers.
The Islamic appearance was better known by the prophet and the sahaba than a modern understanding. Shaykh al-albani too insisted that the sunnah beard is the firstful.
@@n.s.5278 you don’t follow the messenger, that Hadith in tirmidhi is da’if (weak). Nice try tho
@@n.s.5278 the Hadith you mentioned in Tirmidhi is weak (fabrication)
There is a hadeeth collected by At-Tirmidhi (no. 2762) wherein it is said: “The Prophet would take from the width and length of his beard.” This hadeeth is fabricated (mawdoo’) as stated by the scholars of hadeeth because there is a narrator in the chain called ‘Umar ibn Hāroon Al-Balkhi who was accused of lying.
@@Randomhandlename brother you seem to be ignorant in usul al hadith as well as in fiqh. Weak is not mawdu'. They are very different. It is weak but a weak hadith is stronger than no hadith (which is your position of not cutting the beard). Moreover, the weak hadith is strengthened by the practice of the sahaba on this. So no for practical purposes it is evidence. A weak hadith had priority over aql (which is your position of taking a word out of context not looking at the practice of prophet or the sahaba whom you malign for not following the sunnah). By the way to malign the sahaba is a major sin which requires tawba. And the practice of the sahaba is hujja. Ambiguous words in the hadith a not qat'i Al dalala.

A muslim beard should be kempt. Other religions dont place emphasis on this so a muslim beard should not look similar to those. E.g. Sikh beard as they are not allowed to cut theirs. Islam places an emphasis on self care, hygiene and grooming standards
You’re making empty statements, Sikhs also wear thobes should we stop wearing them or change them as well and go against what the messenger commanded us?
@@Randomhandlename ridiculous comparison. Followers of other faiths wear clothes, should we stop wearing clothes? No... Time to grow up and stop liking your own comments.
We Muslims do things our own way to differentiate ourselves. We're forbidden to pray during hours of the days pagans used to. We practice prayers a certain prescribed way. We have hygiene baked into our religion whereas no other religion does. Other religions practise fasting, do we give up fasting? No we do it the way we're told to. Evening lesson over for you, son.
@@wr3099 the messenger commanded us to trim the moustache and let the beard grow/flow, this is from Islamic obligation just because Sikhs copy something from the obligations of Islam does not mean we should abandon those obligations if that’s the case what is your proof for that?
And you accused the messenger of being unhygienic, whoever mocks an obligation of Islam after it has been clarified to him then he’s a disbeliever
@@Randomhandlename "Cut the moustache and let the beard grow; be different from the unbelievers.” was the saying of the Prophet (pbuh). You're definitely a cherry-picking, narrow-sighted person if you cant even read a complete sentence and honour it.
I have said many times that hygiene is baked into Islam. Prophet (pbuh) was exemplary in how to follow Islam. Your accusations are merely empty statements apart from one.... You should research the consequences of calling a Muslim a kafir. If it is untrue the accusation reverts to the accuser.
