While they are taught hand to hand combat in Kamar Taj...we rarely see Dr. Strange use it...he relies on confusing his enemies and leave no cards for them to play...so watching him tackle Baron Mordo was refreshing

@@wowwow3673 Well Doctor Strange in MCU hasn't even met his match of enemies compared to what his comics counterpart has seen.....The only enemy known to push Dr Strange more than anything is Shuma Gorath and we all know....even the sight of Arishem astounded us and even Infinity Ultron was magnanimous....so bringing Shuma Gorath in MCU Arc is pretty huge leap

Well not rly. He s constantly channeling magic into them to keep them working normally. The only instance where he they would be fully unusable is when he has his magic blocked by the handcuffs
He "healed" his hands the same way Pangborn uses magic to walk, except Strange kept being a sorcerer instead of going back to do surgery

He's unlocks those multi-class warlock, wizard, monk classes
he has to be. The magics in Kamar-Taj require the user to have a strong body or discipline to even attempt to perform their spells. Thats why they train both mentally and physically, otherwise the attempts would hurt or KILL them.
@@ZhaoYun320 come to think of it, strange seems to be the only sorcerer we've seen so far that fights like how we expect an actual sorcerer would fight instead of conjuring weapons and fighting with martial arts.

And that's why this movie was disappointing big time. They should have used a doctor strange centric villain, a multiverse threat or even the evil version of strange himself as big baddie to expand on possibility that how big of a threat strange would be if he ever turned evil. Instead they brought an already established character with a 180 degree heel turn and they made it like a family drama. The fight sequences were underwhelming and were boringly one sided like watching a hit and run. And the illuminati, Charles Xavier, the most powerful telepath in comics didn't even get to show the full potential. For the hype this movie had, it was totally disappointing.

Why did they brought Shuma-Gorath to this movie? To do this? This is unnecessary, bring a 3rd-rate monster from Dr. Strange or something like that. Shuma is a character worthy to be the main villain of DS3. Not a... cheap-ass answer to DC's Starro.

That name is tied to the Conan the Barbarian movie rights owned by Funcom.
So what they did is the typical mix/composite of characters, doing a design little similar to Shuma but namimg him Gargantos (after a sea creature from the comics).
This is unquestionably the best part of MoM. The wide array of powers showcased perfectly demonstrated the width of magic!

And even it had been just Strange vs Wanda going all guns blazing against each other, it'd have been fine... but on top of what you all said, it felt as of they're forcefully shoving the new character down our throats & pushing her into the scenes just to make her relevant. Not much character development to connect with, just rushing it in & trying to get away with sympathy.
And on top of all this, the poor writing wasted the chance of utilizing Raimi's potential n vision to the fullest, glimpses of which we get to see in some of the shots n moments.

Why not just create surprise coffin with 6 rectangle black hole portals that appear at 360 around the target where each portal move towards the target at the same time to move the target to the alternate dimension and auto close or sever the target in half.
