    Howdy Sickbiker,greetings to Poland.You look great for 39 years old.Cycling definitely keeps one looking young.I ride a Merida also,just put a Rockshox Reba air shox on my bike,what an incredible difference between coil spring and air oil fork.Thanks for the awesome channel. Cheers.

    Congratulations Danny ! Dt swiss wheels are amazing and really high quality the same goes for the suspension that dt swiss makes although the damping and overall performance is lacking a bit it is still higher quality compered to fox , rockshox and lefty. The lockout that dt swiss has is infact used by many professional riders like Jordan Sarou and Titouan Carod

    The upside down fork looks like it would be a good idea. Kind of strange that some version of it hasn’t taken over the industry.

      Yeah I think having one less bridge between the legs is what's making it a challenge. Really like my RS1 though, plenty stiff for XC.

    Great review and very nice reliability / durability ! Rarely hear about Merida in US, at least when it comes to MB's. Much appreciate that XL size is truly an XL. Overall, do you like this better than the Scott Spark ?

    Great Video, keep up the good work. You motivated me to get into XC-Racing but I struggle with finding the right bike. You usually recommend bikes at the lower price end so I am not sure what to buy. I just tested a Canyon lux and it felt amazing. But it's not on stock in XL size since months. So I might consider buying a Hardtail Cube Reaction C:62 One (Full XTR spec). It seems like the cube got insanely good value for the money (2.250€) and the lux (Nx drivetrain, sram level) with 2.600€ seems not worth waiting for. Also I wanna use the bike for daily rides (40kms) on 30% tarmac and 70% soft wood floor. And as some guys already mentioned is the XTR wearing out faster because it's more lightweight than a XT / NX / GX drivetrain. You always got the most honest answers due to not being sponsored and your experience as a Pro.

    • @norwegiantroll2480
      @norwegiantroll2480 5 років тому

      Friend, Cube is not bike which you should consider as a bike at all. Even geometry is horrible and not racy.
      Write me message when you’ll buy your bike and how do you feel after first races.

      @@norwegiantroll2480 I think about selling the frame after a year and get a lux frame. The thing is the Bikesstores here are super expensive and not worth the money at all if u don't got insanely high budget. Fahrrad.de is like the only website where you can find deals that are acceptable.

    Think Parktool are the only ones who have told the truth about expensive and light bikes. Light bikes mean less materials, less materials means they wear out faster. Expensive does not mean better quality just lighter parts.

      Cedric Lance Sison i went from 2x to 1x. With 11 speed cassete you dont realy need 2x. But i would recomend upgading to the xt shifter (not much expensive), just because the double release.

      hey, if i can kind of asnwer from my experience dropper will make steep stuff much better and you have more space etc.. but fullsus will help you save energy on bumpy courses. i would personally go fo HT with dropper or full sus and buy dropper after, for me it is worth the weight. cheers

    12 speed chains need to be swapped more often. If you use the smallest cogs at all a worn chain will kill them very fast
